SEGRIST, Ruben
I am looking for the name of the father of my Great-great grandfather. Unfortunately I have only heard details, but no one knows the name exactly. He was a SEGREST, living in Alabama prior to the Civil War, and I understand had "five or so" wives that he had been married to, due to the high rate of deaths during births at the time. One of those wives bore Rueben, who was the only child of that particular wife. Rueben Segrest served the south in Civil War before marrying Sue MACBETH (I understand the two families were close in Alabama) and moving to Texas, eventually settling near Hico. The farm that he started in 1871 is still in the family name today. I've always figured if I could find the name of this relative we'd be only a few generations away from the actual link to Switzerland, or Germany.

Resided in Kanawha Cty,WV in l913 to (unknown). In l933 Dora lived at 12th St NW, Washington DC, where her second daughter Frances J. SECHRIST died at age l7 in 1933. Frances had lived in DC 4 years. Joseph has a criminal record I'm investigating and Dora was writing J. Edgar HOOVER looking for him in l947! Montana was looking for him in l940.
They had 2 children: Frances, b: l916 and Louise SECHRIST, b: l912 d: l995. Dora died in ?? in l964 while living in Washington,DC. Dora's nickname was "Sassy" and Frances' was "Kiki."
