Featured Site of the Week

This is a brand-new feature of the BFS+/BFL Homepage. Each week bring you another review of the best the Web has to offer in lesbian/bifem related sites. If you have a favorite site you'd like reviewed, email us with your suggestions.

Shescape

Shescape bills itself as the e-zine covering "lesbian culture, opinion and events for the wired dyke and cyber femme." This is a entertaining, well-thought-out site that's a pleasure to visit. Some pages take awhile to load up, but don't worry -- its worth the wait! Access the site and you are greeted with a artsy graphic advising you Shescape is "naughty but nice, edgy but elegant, and definately more hip than hype." Curiousity piqued, you click on the welcome graphic and enter...

Inside, an elegant graphic directs you to the various features of Shescape... its very evident at this point that this is a site with pizazz. You have decisions to make; it all sounds so good that its difficult to decide which area to visit first.

Diving in, you head for Lips. This section is subtitled "Lip Service from our favorite Celebrities, Politicians, Activists, and Personalities...". This month's edition is called "The Road to Bitterness" and its one of those things you read and think to yourself "yep! I know exactly what you mean!". Every month there's a new article, and you can catch up on last month's issue by following the link.

Next, you click on Events. If you're in the New York area, there is information about parties, dances and get-togethers in your area. If you're not able to make it to those events, there is a variety of events listed on this page that span the US, and even an event in Europe. You make a few notes, vow to drop in on the festivities if you get to New York, and move on...

Your next stop is Stars, where your astrological outlook awaits you. Each month, author and playwrite Lexa Rosean guides you through love, life and the occasional crisis. Now that you know what the stars hold in store for you, you wander off for more exploration...

Next stop: Life. Billed as "Tips on getting physical and living fit-- for lesbians who want it longer and stronger," Life's Dr. Loretta T. Friedman offers tips on becoming that "lean, mean lovin' machine" through better nutrition. Eyeing the oreos, you make a mental note to start eating a wee bit differently starting tomorrow...

Next on our tour of Shescape, we come to Secrets, where Dr. Love solves life's little dilemmas. Read the questions and answers -- there's some good advice there. If you'd like, you can even submit a question to Dr. Love yourself, using the form at the bottom of the page.

There's more to see and do at Shescape... discover it today!
