IM/PARTIAL Science Gender Shock

paradox Margaret Mead Kate Bornstein

[*] Paradoxes of Gender is much too laden with feminist agendas and how the patriarchy has oppressed women for 2000 years.
[*] Margaret Mead has some wonderful perspectives in Male and Female that she can only ellude to, due to the social limitations of her time. She suggests that all male and female cultural roles are arbitrary, citing examples from world cultures that disprove every scientific "standard" assigned to male and female behavioral patterns.
[*] Although a bit brief in her dealing with the issues in Gender Outlaw, Kate Bornstein is quick and to the point with discussing the problems of bi-polar genderization. Definitely a book to stimulate your thought, not necessarily to give you the answers.

My favorite Science Fiction Authors
