TRANSGENDER NORTH WEST

Raising the profile of Transgender issues in North West UK

This small local organisation grew from needs identified in a local Transsexual Support group. It now focuses on issues that may be of concern to transgender people in North West UK.

We aim to raise awareness of Transgender issues in local government, police, statutory organisations, charities, hospital authorities, primary care, and business related organisations.

We intend to promote awareness of transgender issues by producing publications and leaflets for circulation to local organisations.

So far we have established working links with local police forces and through the Navajo project we have links to many statutory and voluntary sector organisations, involved in health and social issues.

We are also working on a signpost leaflet for local people with their own gender issues but are not sure who to contact for information or advice.

Transgender North West is self funded entirely by donations from our small group of members
