Personal Update - Apr. 1999

Thanks to all who have e-mailed recently. I've had
several people ask about what's going on, and for me
to post new pictures. Unfortunately I won't be able to
post anything new for a while, but I appreciate the
support and all of the nice compliments. This is a brief
explanation of my current situation.

I'm in a busy transitional period right now. Some by my
own choice, and some not. A few months ago I was given a
lay-off from the company that I've worked for 15 years.
The company's having a tough time now, but I think there's
a good chance I would be recalled in about a year. After
reviewing my financial situation I decided I would spend
the time pursuing a dream of mine. I've long thought it
would be fun to buy some land in the "boonies" and build
a log home kit. Doing as much of the work myself as I
possibly can.

This project has been keeping me very busy, but I'm really
enjoying it a lot. Right now (Apr. 1999), I'm about to move
from the mostly paper & planning stage to actually moving
onto the land. I need the equity from my current house to
proceed with the project. Initially I will be living in a
travel trailer with only a generator and a cell phone. As
the project proceeds I will re-establish power and a regular
telephone line. The point is that I will be off the Internet
for a few months, and will not have an active e-mail address.
I plan to leave this web site up, but with out an e-mail
address, Geocities may kill it. Either way, I plan to return
to the Internet by this fall.
