Barebacking is having sex without condoms. It's one of the most politically-incorrect things you can do today, outside of referring to a Lesbian as a "fish". It is roundly condemned, mostly by the Gay assimilationists. Gay apologists don't like it because they're afraid that the mainstream will forget all the "progress" of the past and begin to think of us as carefree sex addicts and cease to send money to their precious AIDS research and patient support projects. This is, of course, bullshit. But the sex-hating dweebs with internalized homophobia can't seem to get it into their heads that Sex is Good.

All that being said, barebacking is still a very risky act. We all take risks in everyday life, from driving on the freeway to opening up that jar of furry spaghetti sauce that's been lurking in the back of the fridge since before you knew who Monica Lewinsky was. Risks are relative, but there are always ways of reducing your risk.

For risk-free barebacking, there are more options than just finding an HIV-negative lover and making him wear a chastity belt.

Ride 'em Cowboy! Grease up that crack and go to town. Just make sure you don't "accidentally" slip inside. He will love the feel of you sliding back and forth. It's almost as good as the real thing. For added variety, poke between his legs. It'll drive him wild!

	Practice frottage (my favorite). Get your lover all lubed up, and lay him on his back with his legs together. Lay on top of him and position yourself between his legs. This way, you both get full feeling and can kiss and make out, too. It actually makes for a prolonged experience.
	Phone sex. It's a lot less messy than cyber sex, and you can use both hands! You can get as nasty as you want without a single iota of risk. Especially useful for those tiresome dry spells.

For medium-risk barebacking, you can't go wrong with fellatio.

Just don't tell me you trust that guy to pull out of your ass before he cums. If you let him inside you bareback, he's GONNA cum inside you, even a little. So don't kid yourself. It's a HIGH-RISK activity.

If you're into risk, then no holes are barred. There are websites and mailing lists out there that will cater to your specific needs/wants/desires. Just do a search on "bareback", but watch out for rodeos! There are #gaybareback channels on several IRC servers, but watch out for bashers!

The key to barebacking is sanity.

	Keep your wits about you. Don't go cruising while high or if you've been drinking. You might pick up someone inappropriate or dangerous.
	You can get more than HIV or the clap from sex. Even if you're scrupulously safe, you can get a yeast infection (yes, you!) or pick up crabs, or worse, get something called Mollusca, which are icky nasty painful little zits that hurt like hell and almost NEVER go away (they have to be burned off with liquid nitrogen or cauterized - OUCH!). So visit your local VD clinic regularly. You'll have to put up with a lecture about barebacking, but they're public servants and are supposed to kvetch at you. It's nothing personal.
	Make absolutely sure that your partner is aware that you want to bareback BEFORE you get his clothes off. And if he at any time wants to stop, then stop. Don't force the issue. He might get pissed and press charges against you for rape or even Attempted Murder, whether or not you're poz.
	If you ARE poz, check your local laws. In some states, it's a felony to commit sodomy with someone if you are poz and didn't tell them. Some areas even require you to inform any POTENTIAL sex partners of your poz status, even if you never end up scoring. Can you imagine walking into a bar on a Saturday night and announcing, "Hey guys, I'm HIV pozitive, just thought I'd let you all know that!"????????

Here's some relevant (and interesting) California law

California Penal Code 12022.85:

(a) Any person who violates one or more of the offenses listed in subdivision (b) with knowledge that he or she has acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) or with the knowledge that he or she carries antibodies of the human immunodeficiency virus at the time of the commission of those offenses, shall receive a three-year enhancement for each violation in addition to the sentence provided under those sections.

(b) Subdivision (a) applies to the following crimes:

(1) Rape in violation of Section 261.

(2) Unlawful intercourse with a person under 18 years of age inviolation of Section 261.5.

(3) Rape of a spouse in violation of Section 262.

(4) Sodomy in violation of Section 286.

(5) Oral copulation in violation of Section 288a.

(c) For purposes of proving the knowledge requirement of this section, the prosecuting attorney may use test results received under subdivision (c) of Section 1202.1 or subdivision (g) of Section 1202.6.

California Penal Code 286:

(a) Sodomy is sexual conduct consisting of contact between the penis of one person and the anus of another person. Any sexual penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete the crime of sodomy.

(f) Any person who commits an act of sodomy, and the victim is at the time unconscious of the nature of the act and this is known to the person committing the act, shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison for three, six, or eight years.

So doing your boyfriend while he's asleep is out of the question, right?
