The Filipino Way
             
                  The Filipinos are a very interesting, fun loving, and warm hearted people.
              You will never find any other asians as hospitable as the Filipinos. What makes the Filipinos unique is their ability to  find humor when times are are bad.
                  Filipinos are unusual in their mannerisms, food, and the way they communicate.
              Here is a few of these oddities that makes the Filipinos one of a kind.
               
             
             
                Mannerisms and Personality Traits:
                  - point with their lips
                  - the other piece of luggage is a balikbayan box
                  - nod upwards to greet somebody
                  - put foot up on chair and rest elbow on your knee
                    while eating
                  - uses a stone to scrub self in the shower
                  - uses an umbrella for shade on a hot summer day
                  - middle name is mother's maiden name
                  - checks the labels on clothes to see where it was
                     made before buying
                  - hang clothes up to dry in the backyard
                  - always late - Filipino time
                  - always offer food to all your visitors
                   
                Vocabulary
                  - says "comfort room" instead of "bathroom"
                  - says "open" or "close" the light
                  - asks for a "pentel pen" or a "ball pen"
                     instead of just pen
                  -  says "hoy" to get somebody's attention
                  - turns around when someone says "Psssst"
                  - prefers to say acronym for phrases such as "OA"
                     for over-acting
                  - says "air con" instead of "a/c" or air conditioner
                  - says "brown out" instead of "black out"
                   
                Home Furnishings
                  - uses a "walis tambo" instead of the conventional
                     broom
                  - have a portrait of "The Last Supper" hanging in your
                     dining room
                  - own a Karaoke system
                  - have a "tabo" in the bathroom
                  - have plastic runners to cover the carpets in your house
                  - have a rice dispenser
                  - must have a rice cooker
                Food
                  - mixes hotdog in spaghetti
                  - asks for "soft drink" instead of "soda"
                  - dips bread in coffee
                  - uses fingers to measure the water when
                     cooking rice
                  - have an ice shaver for making "halo halo"
                  - half hatched duck eggs "balut" is a delicacy
                  - know that "chocolate meat" is not really made
                     with chocolate
