Refraction.
Like shards of glass
a prismatic refraction
where no light can pierce
but for all the world
a beautiful display
of color and light
and narry a thought
that within
no sun rises
but the world wants color
and the world wants light
so the greater strength
is directed toward
refracting the light
in the way the world wants to see
and the greater the effort
to ensorcel and awe
the more changes occur
so that what was once as beautiful
inside as out
is draped in shadow
yearning for one who can see
and keep the light
from disappearing.
