This site is dedicated to the golden-age heroes collectively known as the
Nedor Heroes. These heroes were first owned by Ned Pines and his
publishing company, of three names, Better, Standard and Pines. The
Nedor Heroes were never trademarked or copyrighted and fell into the
public domain and into obscurity.

Dubbing them science heroes, Alan Moore brought back the Nedor
characters and placed them on Terra Obscura (a parallel Earth) in the
ABC (America�s Best Comics) universe. Together the science heroes
of Terra Obscura are known as S.M.A.S.H. (The Society of American
Modern Science Heroes). These versions of the Nedor Heroes, under
the ABC line, are copyrighted to ABC/Wildstorm/DC.


I�ve been a fan of golden age characters for some time now. I mostly heard about the ones coming out of DC and Marvel. When I bought Mike Benton�s book �The Illustrated History � Superhero Comics of the Golden Age� a whole new world was opened up to me. Here I found characters I never knew existed before. Of course my eye quickly went to the so-called Nedor Heroes. I became a true fan of the Nedor Heroes when Alan Moore and Peter Hogan introduced Terra Obscura.

In my attempt to learn more about the Better/Standard/Pines line of super-heroes I discovered no one site showcased these heroes. This is my attempt to do just that. I hope this site will be useful to fans, new and old. Many thanks go to those sites I�ve listed under my Links section. They�ve helped to familiarize me with these beloved characters.

Under this section in the future I hope to provide updates to any changes I�ve made to this site. Also, if anything news worthy about our favorite Nedor Heroes come up it�ll be posted here. If you have any comments or news please fill free to email me at [email protected]
