Since December 1996, Susanhomesteadougal has been held in isolation, under lock-down up to 23 hours per day, when other inmates, even those charged with serious violent crimes, are allowed 12 hours a day outside their cells; consistently kept in andcuffs when other inmates have not been; variously denied visitation, medical visits, worship services, reading materials, and even a Bible; forced to wear a red jail uniform reserved 
for despised informants and baby-killers; forced to endure the spectacle of male prisoners taunting her, exposing themselves and masturbating in front of her without    intervention from guards

An Händen und Füßen gefesselt, steht Susan homesteadougal (41) in Little Rock (US-Staat Arkansas) vor Gericht - Fluchtgefahr. Sie ist eine ehemalige Geschäftspartnerin von US-Präsident Clinton (50). 

 Jetzt wurde sie wegen Mißachtung des Gerichts angeklagt und ins Gefängnis gesteckt. Sie hatte sich geweigert, im Zusammenhang mit der sogenannten Whitewater-Immobilienaffäre auszusagen. Sie habe "persönliche Gründe", erklärte sie. 

 Der Verdacht: Will sie Präsident Clinton schützen, der als Gouverneur von Arkansas Beteiligungen an der Whitewater-Immobilienfirma hatte? 

 Ihre Anwältin Jenniffer Horan behauptet: Das stimmt nicht. 

 Doch warum ihre Mandantin schweigt, bleibt ihr Geheimnis.
