Background: Maria is the granddaughter of Professor Gerald Robotnik and is a cousin to Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a. Eggman). She was raised on the ARK along with Shadow the Hedgehog and the two became close friends. Because of her illness, Maria was unable to leave the ARK and wished to visit Earth. Maria's life tragically ended when the ARK was attacked and Maria was caught in the crossfire.
