DOWRY is an evil practice and one among the human right
violations against women in India. The blossom of wedded life of womenfolk
is badly affected by this practice. Mappillai House-full, the serial produced
by SIMMAM narrates this cruelty. Bhavani, the young and enterprising girl,
who has completed her B.A examinations avoids marriage by pretending to
be mad. She has a reason for her pretention. Her elder sister is burnt
to death due to dowry demand by her husband. This freightens the young
mind and she adopts a technique to avoid marriage. What happens and how
the girl is convinced that all men are not alike and there are men who
care for women.
A serious subject has been told in SIX episodes mixed
with humour and family emotions.
Produced in the year 1988 for Chennai Doordarshan kendra,
this serial was enacted by M.N.RAJAM, KOKILA, KOOTHAPIRAN and members of
his drama troupe.
