The story narrates the tale of a Bharathanatyam dancer. Nalinakanthi, an young and enterprising girl wishes to touch the heights in her favourite classical bharathanatyam. Acknowledging her wishes, her mother, Pattamma, reveals the truth that they belong to devadasi family and that it is no surprise that her mind went on to become a dancer. But her dream has not come true. She is forced to take the marriage life even ater the due ritual of her soul having been submited to the Lord. But one consolation. She is united with a music practicing man. Why all this ? What happened in her life ? What was her future.
