NIGRITIAN KIEF SOCIETY in Los Angeles and CRESCENT ALLIANCE SELF HELP FOR SICKLE CELL, both applaud the efforts of LEAP and the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators who passed a resolution condemning the failed WAR ON DRUGS and called for treatment rather than incarceration.

In California, or in Los Angeles, CA in particular we have a "special order 40" that forbids law enforcement to use "racial profiling" to target people for deportation based on how they look.

The same for the COMPASSIONATE USE ACT 1996 should apply in the failed drug war, to likewise see that racial profiling to incarcerate people who look like they use drugs, or looks like they smoke marijuana.. or look like people who are targets people of color for criminal charges, especially criminal drug charges.

WE APPLAUD the LEAP organization for making this information available to us in the fight against the so called WAR ON DRUGS, which is really a war on The People... domestic war in the USA, targeting her own citizens.

The following appeared on Boston.com:

Headline: The solution to the failed drug war

Date:     Sep 16, 2008

"War and race dominate the presidential campaign, but one nation-shaping war with profound racial consequences eludes the political radar: the drug war. "
