(and other images)
Here are some interesting images to share with those of you visiting the ModoZone.
This is the Joyce family coat of arms; my middle name, Joyce, is actually an Irish family name descended from my great-great grandfather George Joyce and his wife, my namesake, Susan Joyce. This famous Irish family originated in Norman France, came over with William the Conqueror, and then moved on to Ireland where they lived in County Galway, still known today as Joyce Country. Someday I intend to go there, sooner rather than later, I hope.
Its the Family Feud! No, actually, its more Joyces. Three generations of the Modos paternal lineage are in this fascinating photo, which probably dates from around the time of the First World War. Third from left is my great grandfather, Grovia Tussing; to his left sitting on the fence is my great uncle George Tussing; next to him is my grandmother Jessie Joyce (Tussing) Paxton; standing holding the gun is my great grandmother Myrtle Joyce Tussing, with her mother and my namesake Susan (Reniger) Joyce to her left; sitting in front of her on the fence is my great aunt Edythe (Tussing) Dobry. The other three people in the shot are unidentified but are presumably relatives. I wish we knew more about the origin of this picture. Anyone who can identify the make of car, please let me know.
Our dog Emily, aka Tiny Em, Crumbhound, Big Orange Dog, etc. Truly the best of dogs! We also now have a puppy named Rita; I will post a picture of her soon!
In person, at The Pier in St. Petersburg Florida with the replica Bounty.
On the beach at Ft. DeSoto, near St. Petersburg. I could stay here forever.
