The late Lorne Greene as Commander Adama, commander of the Colonial
battlestar Galactica and leader of the human refugees in their search for Earth.
Lorne here is wearing his full dress uniform including the long coat and the white
silk-lined cape over it; the unusual lighting of this picture emphasizes that the material
is ultrasuede, which does have a suede texture, and makes it look more black than its
actual dark blue. It has been suggested that the medallion he wears is the emblem of his
ancestral house. |

A rare publicity shot of Richard as Apollo wearing his blue full dress
uniform; Ive only seen one other such photograph, and it only in black and white.
Unlike Commander Adamas uniform, above, the cape of Apollos full dress uniform
is lined in black material. All insignia and the dress medallion are plated silver. It is
probable that the dark blue uniform was full dress for command grade officers, but Apollo,
as a pilot, was also free to wear the tan and brown warrior dress uniform as well. The
only time he wore this uniform in the series was for his wedding in Lost Planet of the
Gods. |
A recent photo of Richard Hatch from People magazine, flight
jacket over his t-shirt! Note the differences in this flight jacket compared to the one
hes wearing above; the material is more reddish than brown and the piping details
are in dark brown or black. This is not an actual BG jacket but a more recent
replica and similar to the uniforms worn in his BG trailer. |
