Angel was born in Ireland in the early 1700s, known as Angelus at that time. He was not a successful man, and he mostly drank. One night when he was drunk however, Darla - his sire, made him into a vampire saying she would show him the world. As a human he never left Ireland but as a vampire travelled a lot, mainly Europe. In 1860 he killed all the family of a woman named Drusilla and drove her insane. Later in 1898 he killed the favourite daughter of the Kalderash (Romany Gypsy) Tribe, and they restored his soul.
Angel then went on as a vampire with a soul to America, he ended up in the alley ways of New York, the demon named Whistler, came to him as a guide and persuaded him to watch over Buffy - she was just coming into her powers. He fell in love with Buffy, and on her 17th birthday had sex and he lost his soul as he received one true moment of Happiness, Willow gave him his soul back but it was too late and Buffy was forced to impale him to save the world. Angel then came back from hell, and at the end of Season Three left Buffy and moved to Los Angeles, where he currently is. |
