| Consecration Of Your Book Of Shadows |
| You will need: Your Book and symbols of the elements... eg. salt bowl for north, insence for east, candle for south and a water bowl for west. Arrange to have this during a waxing moon ( after full moon, before new moon, i think). Cast the circle, call quarters etc. Place the book in the centre of the circle, sit in front of it facing north. Enter a meditative state with the purpose of the ritual firmly in mind. Visualize a beam of light from the "heavens" shining down, and a beam of light from the top of your head, meeting as a ball of light about 6 feet above the book. When the time seems appropriate pick up the book and take it to each element saying " I consecrate this Book of Shadows, with (element) so it may be fitting repository for my magickal energy" Then pass over the thing you are using to symbolize that element 3 times. Return to your sitting position in the centre of the circle and say " I consecrate this book of shadows with life so that it may be fitting repository, for my magickal energy" then then blow on it 3 times. Place the book, on the floor in the centre, slowly lower the ball of light (from before) into the book until it is absorbed into the book then say " I consecrate this boook with spirit so it may be fitting repository, for my magickal energy" Then say "So Mote It Be!!" Open the circle etc, and now your book is ready to use. |
