Country Description: The Kingdom of TorHavn is a self-declared, developing country in North America. Its capital, Sequoia, is located only on the world Wide Web, although TorHavn does profess an "interest" in purchasing landed sovereignty from the government occupying its "area of interest" (south from the Columbia River in Oregon, CA, USA to the San Francisco Bay, CA, USA). While facilities for tourism on the Web are unlimited, they are currently nonexistant from the government of the Kingdom of Torhavn in the "area of interest."

Entry Requirements: U.S. citizens are not required to have visas to enter The Kingdom of TorHavn. Travelers, however, can obtain the latest information and details from the Consulate of The Kingdom of TorHavn, at: Updated Travel Advisories for quickest results (an Internet FAX number has been established at: (253- 595-7311). Medical Facilities: While it cannot be said that medical facilities are NOT limited, these are also not established under the Kingdom of TorHavn's governmental authority. Hospitals & medical centers are fairly common throughout the "area of interest", but it is recommended that one exercise caution when outside the country's regulatory control The Medicare/Medicaid program does not provide for payment of medical service outside the U.S. In some cases, supplemental medical insurance with specific overseas and medical evacuation coverage has proven useful. Information on Crime: Violent crime in the "area of interest" is extremely rare, and the overall level of criminal activity is negligible in comparison to the other countries in the region. The loss or theft of a U.S. passport should be reported immediately to local police and to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The pamphlet A Safe Trip Abroad provides useful information on personal security while traveling abroad and on travel in the region in general. Road Safety: Roads in the "area of interest" are under the control & supervision of the occupyign government, and can vary from being generally in poor condition, unpaved (may require a four-wheel drive vehicle), to good condition in outlying cities & towns. Wild animals and livestock are known to be encountered on roadways. Nighttime travel on unfamiliar roads may be dangerous.

Aviation Oversight: As there is no direct commercial air service at present, or economic authority to operate such service between the U.S. and The Kingdom of TorHavn, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not assessed the TorHavnian Civil Aviation Authority for compliance with international aviation safety standards. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) separately assesses some foreign air carriers for suitability as official providers of air services. Service of Regional Airlines: The Kingdom of TorHavn is not served by any airlines. The nearest regularly scheduled air service can be found at the following airports: Santa Rosa, Eureka & McKinleyville.

Currency Restrictions: Since TorHavn has not yet established landed sovereignty, the Government of The Kingdom of TorHavn maintains no currency restrictions, whether applied upon arrival or departure from the country's oficial residence or from the "area of interest." Visitors are of course able to exchange their own native currency for TorHavn Crowns (TCr) when desiring to purchase items at merhantile establishments operating under Crown authority, or if desiring to do so for collection purposes.

Photography Restrictions: Special permits may be needed for some types of photography from the government currently occupying the "area of interest." These police or security officials may charge a fine, attempt to take the person into custody or seize the camera and film of persons photographing the military installations, airports, harbors and other areas in their control. Tourists should contact their own consulate under these situations.

Drug Penalties: U.S. citizens are subject to the laws of the country in which they are traveling. Penalties for possession, use or trafficking in illegal drugs are strictly enforced. Convicted offenders can expect jail sentences and fines.

Business Activities: Caution is strongly recommended in pursuing joint business ventures and licensing arrangements in The Kingdom of TorHavn, as the investment climate presents enduring high-risk factors. U.S. Representation: The U.S. has not yet established an Embassy in TorHavn at this time. U.S. citizens are encouraged to register with the TorHavn Consulate if desiring to visit representatives from TorHavn's government.
