TorHavn is an evolving nation, currently only on the Internet, that seeks to become something more. Its government based on the better parts of enlightened absolutism, with a subtle flavor of Sparta entwined, this warrior nation hopes to become a shining beacon which will, one day, bring back chivalrie and honour to the international arena once again.
TorHavn was born so that others might remember what used to be a nation's pride ... respect, courtesy, diplomacy, and esteem. It seems to be up to us, and those few like us. Unlike others of our size, TorHavn dreams of having land, and is gathering resources to be able to do just that. Even our name: "tor" for watchtower or keep, and "havn" for sanctuary, points the way to our goals. It is important to be strong.

"TorHavn is both a personal project of mine and my wife's, inspired by the other "successes" we have seen on the Web. Besides micronationry, we are very much into the concepts and ideals that TorHavn supports, such as alternative fuels (like biodiesel, AND the site for the famous "Veggie Van"), alternative housing (such as hay bale materials, and rammed-earth/adobe, etc.), and other ecological projects (recycling as a philosophy, AND here's a site portal for more ideas).
"The world's first "green country" also supports honour, diplomacy, and personal warriorship in its citizens. We encourge the ability to defend oneself and our way of life, and espouse equality and rights for both citizens and visitors alike. Unlike other, older nations, TorHavn shall never be worried about standing fast for new ideas, and the protection of the Earth and the equal rights of Her people."
The Internet site of TorHavn is the current home of the 2002 Intermicronational Olympics (site under construction. These Games will take place simultaneously with the Olympics taking place in February 2002, and will combine online events (checks, etc.) with offline events (modified discus throw, racing, the hammer throw, etc.).
