The Blackhawks Drum & Bugle Corps from Greensburgh, Pennsylvania. The Blackhawk corps was a youth parade corps, that I taught for a year, before they disbanded. The corps performed at 17 parades in one summer, and the featured event of the year was hosting a Drum Corps International event. It ended up being a very mature, strong line that won first place at 90% of the competitive parades. The line had 7 snares, 4 tenors, and 5 bass drums, along with 4 cymbal players. The corps broke up because of mismanaged money, though would have been able to field a corps the following year, had things continued. At least 8 players (that I know of) marched in 4 different corps the following year. This corps is where I met: Debbie Bokean, who I played with again at Steel City. I also took care of all percussion instrument repair, keeping the line working, and together. |
