HAITI
HH4/K4QD & HH4/W4WX
Jan, K4QD (HH4/K4QD), and Bill, W4WX (HH4/W4WX), recently completed a two-week trip to Haiti. They operated from the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission (NWHCM) in St Louis du Nord during 20-31 March.. This was Jan’s fifth trip to the mission and Bill’s second. They made a total of about 7300 contacts on this trip. Jan concentrated mostly on CW and Bill concentrated on the digital modes. During the CQ WPX phone contest, they entered as single-band operators. Jan operated 20 meters and made about 1300 contacts. Bill made over 800 contacts on 15 meters, which was a surprise considering he was using a Sigma 5 antenna. WWW.NWHCM.ORG

BILL ZD8WX (W4WX) AND JAN ZD8QD (K4QD) OPERATED FROM ASCENSION ISLAND 21 FEBRUARY THROUGH 1 MARCH 2006. THE SPACE "A" TRIP TRAVELING OUT OF PATRICK AFB WENT LIKE CLOCK WORK! Overall we made about 5000 contacts while we
were on the island. Jan made about 3500 QSOs on CW, and Bill made about 1500 on
RTTY and PSK-31. Of these about 150 were PSK-31 and a handful were SSB. The
following is a general breakdown of the contacts by continent and band:

We had a great trip. We appreciate all the contacts and the encouragement from
HAMS around the world who we were able to give a “new one” on a band or mode.
