Emergency Management is the process of
coordinating available resources to deal with emergencies effectively, thereby
saving lives, avoiding injury, and minimizing economic loss.
Wabash County EMA has four missions:
Prepare: Through educational programs prepare the community and emergency response agencies to handle disaster situations. This also includes the development and maintenance of the Wabash County Emergency Mitigate: Process of actions taken to prevent the amount of damage and loss as a result of disaster. This includes earthquake retrofitting ,flood dams and warning siren placement. Respond: EMA volunteers respond to scenes to provide support to emergency services (communications, logistics) and conduct damage assessments. This also includes the activation and operation of the Wabash County Emergency Operations Center located at the EMA office. Recovery: Actions taken to bring day to day operations in the effected area back to normal.
