They'll Let Anybody Argue In the US Supreme Court

On November 2, 1982, they let me argue a case before the United States Supreme Court!  I was seeking to limit Los Angeles Police Department use of deadly "chokeholds."  If you would like to hear the argument, you will need  RealPlayer 8 which can be downloaded for free.  There is a slight delay after the case is called, then you will hear argument by Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Fred Merkin (email:[email protected]) as he is questioned closely by Justices Thurgood Marshall, Brennan, Rehnquist, et al.  My argument follows, where I get thoroughly chewed out by Justice Marshall.   Listen to The Argument and View Transcript  I lost as reported at  Lyons v. City of Los Angeles, 461 U.S. 95, 103 SCt 1660, 75 L.Ed.2d 675 (1983)
