Warholian Profundities

Poets use a word to
refer to friends, columnists

use it to refer to poets,
senators they admire, or dead

presidents whose daughters
married their godsons,

to painters who talk too much,
quoting all the gurus of

many religions, these "sages."
There are sages in lemon,

sages in popcorn, sages
are everywhere these days,

sage said that, sage said
this, sage sage sage . . . I

think I’d learn more from our
cook who’d boil this saging*.

I don’t believe it. In one hr.
dinner is served, profound.

*saging---Filipino for banana
