Complexity Valuation

Complexity Theory as more known is calculation complexity. Calculation Complexity is the amount of level of difficulty of calculation of mathematical expression.

It does not take a PHD to figure out one of the problems with complexity theory is what is a complexity. What compared to what is a complexity. What compared to what is a non-complexity.

This conjecturer has seen the math dictionaries say a complexity is the opposite of a non-complexity. A non-complexity is the opposite of a complexity.

With great definations such as these complexity theory can be difficult to get a grasp on.

The concept "valuation" was adopted by this conjecturer to determine what compared to what is what.

Valuation is not used without reservation. However it is the closest word to the concept. The concept is to "attach" numbers to things like a complexity or a non-complexity and compare the numbers to know what is a complexity or a non-complexity.

The number line is already a non-complexity/complexity continuum.

Two (2) schemes suggest themselves.

The first is called by this conjecturer: Ascending. Complexity happens going more to the right, ascending order on the number line. An 2 would be a complexity compared to a 1. An 2 contains 2 of those units of value. An 1 only contains 1 of those units of value.

Compared to an -1,000,000, 1,000,000 would be a complexity.

For those who think -1,000,000 and 1,000,000 are equal but opposite complexities, there is another scheme called Magnitude.

Here the closer to zero (0) one gets is non-complexity and the farther away is complexity.

In the Magnitude scheme -1,000,000 and 1,000,000 are equal but opposite complexities.

For the Cases that follow on the next page Ascending is used.

For both schemes, comparing the absolute value of the entities can be used to determine a complexity from a non-complexity.

Another word for Valuation is Quantification.
