Learn To Write! |
It is really pretty simple to learn to write, but it is best to learn to write only if you really want to write. Forcing the words out of you is a good way to get yourself stuck in the middle of a piece of writing. For me, poems are easy. I like to write poems, so they naturally come to me. I am also fond of writing stories, but it takes a lot of dedication to one piece of writing to be able to start and finish a long story, or even a novel. It is very important that you aren't forcing words out of you when you are writing. If you don't like what you are writing about, then don't write about it. Change subjects. Sometimes I start a long story and then get bored and start a whole different story. I'll find the old story like finding something lost in an attic, and edit it and get a renewed interest in the writing that I had started that long time ago. To get started in writing poems you can start on just scrap pieces of paper, or a journal that you could make into a poetic journal. I usually just use scrap pieces of paper for poetry, usually because my poems aren't as long as Shakespeare's. To get started on writing a story I reccomend buying a journal or a tablet of paper. Sometims if you write long stories on scrap pieces of paper the story will go out of order, with pages missing. That would ruin the whole story. I have a large writing binder. In it I have scrap paper, and a journal for my long story. I also have pencils in there as well as a guide to writing and style. That way I am always ready. If I have a burst of poetic intelligence going through my mind, I grab a pencil, a piece of paper, and I scribble down my ideas. I also use scrap paper for story segments that pop into my head. Ones that I could use later in the book I'm writing. Many times I sing my poetry in the shower. I have a tendency to make up lyrics to already used tunes in the shower, and many times those improvised lyrics turn into a poem. My poems usually have a lesson to learn in them. That is because of my mother's love of lessons. Every story had to have a lesson. But that slightly inspired the type of poem I write; they start out dark and usually turn out to be happy. Please consider submitting some of your ideas about the writing guide or other things, if you provide me with an email address I can give you full credit for the information you give me if I use it... |
