STUDENT loans for used horse trailers loans and higher fees may become commonplace across higher aps student loans level vocational courses after Canberra yesterday backed Victoria's training shake-up.
Federal Education Minister Julia Gillard agreed to extend university-style loans to vocational students after the Victorian Government launched a $316million boost to training. Under Victoria's training overhaul, centralised and capped funding of public TAFEs will be replaced by giving eligible Victorians a government entitlement to increase their skills.
Students would be free understanding mortgage loans to cash in their entitlements college tuition grants and loans at either public TAFEs or private providers.

For advanced diplomas, the current maximum of $877 would rise to $1500 next year, and to as much as $2500 by 2012.
To compensate students, the commonwealth has agreed to extend from next July its HECS-like Fee-Help loan system to Victoria's vocational students, under which graduates don't start making repayments until their income hits $41,595 a year.
