The Fisher Family
My Wife’s Family lived in the Corstorphine area of Edinburgh but the Fisher side came from Bathgate in West Lothian and have been traced back to Perthshire via Lanarkshire and Stirlingshire. In Bathgate they were contractors and previous to that were ironstone miners.
My mother-in-law was a Beveridge and they hailed from Dundee and Angus area but her mother was from Aberdeen and they have been traced back to Banffshire and Western Ross. In this Family occupations have varied including a Lawyer, a Ship’s Captain, comb makers in the mills in the North and a Customs and Excise officer.
