Position: 32° 50' S, 137° 34' E, Elev 60ft AMSL

The Whyalla Gliding Club's airfield is situated 25 km to the North of Whyalla on the Port Augusta Rd. The field has three runways, a well equipped club house and a large hanger. Flying from the filed gives good views over the Flinders Ranges and the Upper Spencer Gulf. There are good cross country opportunities to the West and North. Just South of the airfield is the Whyalla MBZ which gives pilots an chance to practice their radio skills and to mix it with the "power jocks.

The main runway gives very good launches of up to 2000 feet. The cross runways allow operations in most weather conditions

There are a number of "emergency landing strips" in the surrounding country side giving pilots a number of options for out landings if the need arises. Popular flights from the club include Mt Whyalla, Port Augusta, Trigilana Station, Flinders Ranges and across the Spencer Gulf.
