SEIGE OF NO. 1 MAKO REACTOR
CGI--Floating through space. Space becomes glowing green sparks and a girl (Aeris) in a red dress who walks into the middle of a busy street with a basket of flowers. Camera zooms out to view the whole immense polluted and dark city Midgar. The Final Fantasy VII logo appears. Flashes of a train in motion appear as the camera zooms in on a train coming to a stop near Mako reactor #1.

Two characters leap off of the train and knock out two soldiers.
The man with the gun arm (Barret) says, "C'mon newcomer follow me."
Cloud leaps off the train and follows Barret. He is attacked by two Shinra soldiers, defeats them, then enteres the courtyard in front of the gate to the reactor building.
As Cloud approaches Biggs he says to Cloud, "Wow! You used to be in SOLDIER right! ...Not everyday ya find one in a group like AVALANCHE."
Jessie comments, "SOLDIER? Aren't they the enemy? What's he doing with us in AVALANCHE?"
Biggs defends Cloud by replying, "Hold it, Jessie. He WAS in SOLDIER. He quit them and now is one of us." Turning to Cloud he asks, "Didn't catch your name..."
In brief Cloud responds, "Cloud"
Biggs attempts to say, "Cloud, eh? I'm..."
"I don't care what your names are," Cloud breaks in. "Once this job's over...I'm outta here."
Barret runs up and repremands, "The hell you all doin'!? I thought I told you never to move in a group! Our target's the North Mako Reactor. We'll meet on the bridge in front of it."
The gate opens and the group enters leaving Barret and Cloud by themselves. Barret turns to Cloud and says, "Ex-SOLDIER, huh? Don't trust ya!"
Cloud follows Barret and the others through the area near the Mako reactor and encounters Wedge (hey, wasn't that a guy from Star Wars) standing near the other entrance across the bridge. He says, "I'll secure the escape passage. Concentrate on the mission cloud," he reminds. "Geez, we're really gonna blow this huge furnace up? This'll be somethin' to see!"
Cloud enters the Mako reactor building and meets up with the group in front of a coded security door. "Yo!" Barret grunts. "This is your first time in a reactor?"
"No." responds Cloud, "After all, I did work for Shinra y'know."
"The planet's full of Mako energy. People here use it everyday," Barret explains.
Cloud shrugs his shoulders feeling rather unenthusiastic about the whole issue.
Barret impatiently lectures, "It's the life blood of the planet. But Shinra keeps suckin' the blood out with these weird machines."
Cloud remarks, "I'm not here for a lecture. Lets just hurry."
Barret angered by Cloud's insensitivity retorts, "That's it! You're comin' with me from now on."
Jessie says, "Biggs and I got the code for this door."
Biggs touches the console and announces, "Code deciphered." The door opens.
They all walk into the next room and Biggs says, "Think of how many of our people risked their lives for this code... (Doesn't that sound like something from Star Wars)" Jessie touches another console and the door opens. "Code deciphered," he announces.
Cloud, Barret and Jessie walk through the third room, open the elevator door and enter the elevator. Inside the elevator Jessie tells Cloud, "Push that button over there!" Cloud after a second or two pushes the button.
As the elevator descends Barret begins speaking, "Little by little the reactors'll drain out all the life. And that'll be that."
Cloud shrugs, "It's not my problem."
Barret angrily replies, "The planet's dyin' Cloud!"
Cloud shakes his head, "The only thing I care about finishin' this job before security and the roboguards come."
Enraged at Cloud's shortsightedness Barret shakes his fists.
Cloud exits the elevator and follows the stairway to the reactor room. Cloud, Jessie, and Barret climb down the ladder. Jessie stands on the girder and waits while the other two make their way down to the lower level. Near the reactor core Cloud finds a "restore" materia lying on the ground. Cloud and Barret stand in front of the reator core, and Barret says, "When we blow this place, this ain't gonna be nuthin' more than a hunka junk."
Barret looks at the bomb then Cloud aprehensively, "Could you set the bomb?"
"Shouldn't you do it?" Cloud returns. He had never set a bomb like the one he had in his hand ever before so the was no telling what could happen.
Barret drills, "You do it! I gotta watch to make sure you don't pull nuthin'." He won't admit that he's afraid of blowing himself up.
"Fine, be my guest," Cloud retorts.
Cloud's mind begins to become fuzzy, a high pitched sound rings in his ears. A whisper from the dark recesses of his memory enters his consciousness, Watch out! This isn't just a reactor!!
Cloud comes to and Barret demands, "......What's wrong?"
"Huh?"
"What's wrong Cloud? Hurry it up!"
"Yeah sorry."
Cloud enters the destruct code and alarms sound. "Heads up, here they come!" Barret says.
After they defeat the security robot the detonator countdown initiates-Ten Minutes to detonation!
Cloud and Barret climb up to the upper level and encounter Jessie who has his ankle and foot caught in one of the spaces in the girder. Cloud asks, "Are you all right?"
"My leg got stuck!" he complains.
Cloud pulls him loose.
"Thanks." he says.
Cloud, Barret, Jessie, and Biggs make their way back to the upper floor, and with Wedge leave the Mako reactor via the back entrance before it explodes. CGI-reactor explodes, flames blast from core. Midgar shot-No. 1 Mako reactor exploding.
In the corridor near the reactor building Biggs comments, "That should keep the planet going...at least a little longer."
Wedge simply states, "Yeah."
Barret makes no comment.
Jessie warns, "OK! Now everyone get back."
They all exit the corridor into a dirty alley. Flames spew from the entrance and burn Wedge's rear. He runs around until the pain diminishes.
"All right, now let's get out of here," Barret commands. "Rondezvous at Sector 8 station! Split up and get on the train!"
Everyone runs away, but before Barret leaves Cloud calls out to him. "H, hey!"
Barret quickly turns and faces him. "If it's about your money save it 'till we're back at the hideout." Barret tuns and runs away.
Cloud enters the street where people are running in terror from the explosion. A deranged man bumps into the girl selling flowers and knocks her to the ground. Cloud approaches her and she asks him, "Excuse me. What happened?"
Cloud replies, (Choice 1:) "You'd better get out of here." (or) (Choice 2:) "Nothing...hey, listen..."
The flower girl responds to (Choice 1) by saying, "Really, I don't know what's going on, but all right." she walks away. (or) Cloud continues the conversation and says, "Don't see many flowers around here." and to this statement the Flower Girl responds, "Oh these? Do you like them? They're only a gil...?" Cloud buys a flower from her and she thanks him. "Here you are!" she says with enthusiasm then walks away into the train station.
Cloud walks into the train station. The power is out due to the reactor explosion. A man walking around aimlessly says, "Just what the hell's going on!?"
A man staring at the wall says, "Wonder what that is on the wall over there. Let's see..."'Don't be fooled by Shinra! Mako energy doesn't last forever! Mako is the planet's life source! The end is in sight! Protectors of the Planet: AVALANCHE'"
Cloud enters the street where he is attacked by Shinra soldiers. The soldiers yell, "Hey, you there!" Cloud fights off the soldiers but is eventually surrounded by others. Before they can grab him he jumps onto the train. CGI-Cloud jumping onto the train while in motion.
