NEW FINAL FANTASY X SCREENSHOTS RELEASED
Squaresoft has recently released more information regarding Final Fantasy X for the Playstation 2, a game that I greatly anticipate. According to Square E.A. the English name for the main character is currently "Titus" Maybe this will change, but that's what has been said. There is a female character that reminds me of Rinoa and her name is supposedly Yuna, a summoner, daughter of High Summoner, Braska. It has been indicated that Titus's main personality trait revolves around competiong of some kind in a game called "Blitzball" Squaresoft has indicated that he entire game will have FULL VOICEOVERS in the tradition of games like Shenmue. Square is implementing an innovative facial motion system that harnesses the processing power of the PlayStation 2 to create facial expressions in real time. I suppose this gives new meaning to the term "Emotion Engine" It's been indicated that the game will feature far more detailed 3-D environments including a totally redesigned overworld map that is designed to enrich the epic feel of the game. Demonstrations presented to industry insiders have awed and astonished those who've seen just the basics of what Final Fantasy X will be like. This game is scheduled for a release in Japan this spring perhaps early Summer, and a North American release date around November/December Timeframe. (why do they do this? It doesn't take that long to translate) From the screenshot's I've seen recently and the one's that were bootleged from previous Squaresoft expos, the game looks stunning to say the least...but...have you seen Shenmue II? That game looks like it could be the Final Fantasy killer, but it's just so odd to me how I hear so little about Shenmue. I must admit that Shenmue chapter 1 was the best Video Gamer I ever experienced. Final Fantasy X will be good though, there's just no doubt about that, and with Final Fantasy: The Sprits Within coming out, what a year 2001 will be for RPG fans.
