![]() VIDEO GAMER X GETS FINAL FANTASY ANTHOLOGY This became a surprise for me since I didn't think this game was coming out until the middle of the month. I decided I would go to Babbages to get the Triple Triad card game, and when I arrived there I discovered that they were sold out. Rats! Then the sales clerk mentioned to me about the Guardian Force figures that would be coming in soon. We got to talking and he mentioned that Final Fantasy Anthology (Final Fantasy V and VI) just released and he had a copy. I really perked up then, and immediately asked for it. I also bought a boxed set of FF8 Action Figures that included Edea. Since I'm still not completely done with Final Fantasy VIII, I'm not going to get deeply into these two Final Fantasy's until later in the month. I did play the beginning of Final Fantasy V and VI and was quite impressed with the introductory FMV. Everything else is pretty much identical to the games that came out for SNES both in the United States and in Japan. I had such a good feeling playing my old favorite again, Final Fantasy III (which was lost years ago, argh!) and seeing it just as I remembered it. Those were the days before Nintendo screwed Squaresoft, and SNES RPG's were king. It's good to see the Midieval aspects of those older games glorifed in beautifully rendered FMV. The two games were accompanied with a music CD containing Nobuo Uematsu's classics including the Final Fantasy VI (III) overworld theme. Final Fantasy Anthology will eventually get it's own section on this site. I might as well add it to the growing list of projects I'm attempting to complete. If you don't own these RPG's now is the time to aquire these before they dissappear and recapture the memories that many fans of the series cherish valiantly in their hearts. |
