One thing is for sure, since the time I played and eventually finished Final Fantasy VII, I was thristing for more, and so too still today are many other gamers across America and the world where Final Fantasy VIII hasn't been released yet. We've seen the screenshots, downloaded the movies, read all the hype, pining and waiting for that one day yet to come when we would get our hands on this Squaresoft masterpiece. I know for a fact that I truly want this game so much I can taste it, and I know I'm one of a very large majority of RPG and video game fans in general who just can't get enough Final Fantasy. This page is for you to comment on your feelings regarding Final Fantasy VIII. Do you think it will live up to the hype? How will it effect the future of RPG's and video games as a whole? What do you expect to see in Final Fantasy VIII? These are just a few questions you can ponder.

Rexicon1 Anticipates: Well, I saw the Gallery area and i can only say one word..... wow! My god, i had no idea that The PSX could do that!! And those were only Battle Screens!!!!! I cant wait to see the cinemas. Try to get this page better soon i cant wait to get the game and as soon as I do Im gonna send you my opinion on this game and tell you if the hype is real.

Jake Thompson Anticipates: Hey Video Gamer X, I really cannot wait for Final Fantasy VIII to get here. I actually went out and bought Brave Fencer Mushashi just so I could get the FF VIII playable demo. From just playing the demo I think that it will live up to the hype and then some. The only thing I didn't like was the new button conf. it just wasn't the same. The new magic system I thought kicked some major ass! stealing spells from enemies and everything. But, the coolest thing about the demo has to be the Leviathan Summon Spell it totally kicks ASS!! I don't know about you, but I will be one of the first people at the store to buy it when it finally comes out.

GINAKTOO Anticipates: Yo' video gamer X!!!! I have already seen your odyssey of hyrule and your FFVII site, and they were awesome!! Now, about my anticipation. . . I think Final Fantasy 8 Will be one of the most impressive games of all time. From the whimsical story . . .to the astonishing music. It will most definitly be batter than FF7 but zelda. . . . im not sure. I read on videogames.com that they gave FF8 and 8.5, while zelda is a big # 10. Zelda has set a standard for RPGs/Adventure games and that standard is very, very high. But knowing square, they will make the American version way better than the Japanese one. Ive played the demo and yes, it wasn't as good as zelda, it had some kinks and stuff square needed to work out, but i mean come on, its just a demo. Overall? I can't wait.

A.I.T.C Anticipates: I can't wait for this game! You know that it will live up to the hype. It has to. It's Squaresoft. I honestly have to say that every game I have played from Square has yet to let me down as far as gameplay, fun, etc. I'm not saying that all of their games are great, just the ones I've played. (Mostly FF). I think the battle between the FF and Zelda games makes the anticipation of them even more exciting. Just waiting and wondering if this one will best the last one that came out. Anyway, I just can't wait! September will definately not come too soon!

Adrian S. Anticipates: I just cant wait for final fantasy 8 to come out!!! I want that game so badly I've already had two dreams about it. one was about getting it and playing it, and the other was like a movie that i created about the characters and other things that i have already heard about.The battle system rocks and the graphics kick extreme ass!!! All i look forward to in getting RPG's is the story line and the battles , and i know that ff8 will satisfy both those needs.

Justin Davis Anticipates: Hmmm... I think I have a little bit of a unique take on the anticipation of Final Fantasy 8. I just recently jumped on the PSX bandwagon and picked up some of the best games for the system. (MGS, castlevania, Tomb raider FF7, ect.) Anyway, I just beat FF7 yesterday... and I was completely amazed. Kind of like when you read the end of The Lord of the Rings for the first time.... Anyway, needless to say, I am extremely excited about the release of FF8. It and Perfect Dark are the first two games I have ever reserved, and I have been a gamer since I was five. After seeing what square did with FF7 on their first attempt at a game on the next-gen systems, and knowing that they can only improve on what they've done before has me in awe. I would like to comment on one thing though, I am as hard-core a gamer as they come, but some people are damn-near orgasmic over this game. Put things in perspective: not matter how awsome it is, no matter how many gaming barriers it breaks down, it's still just a game. I sometimes have to remind myself of that and I think you all should too. Still though... if there is a game to get orgasmic over, this one is it ;)

The Player Anticipates: Well, when I first saw Final Fantasy 1 I loved it. Then, I lost track of Final Fantasy. I was young, and didnt know much accept that the game was fun and was interesting to me - I really couldn't understand to get far enough to get into the games. Then, about a year and a half ago, my cousin got playstation. He had rented FF7 while I was over his house, and I fell in love! I scrapped together all the money I could and went out to buy the necessary equipment to play it. I loved it from the start, and played everything as thoughouly as I could, which I don't normally do. I talked to EVERYBODY. Then, I beat the game. I was kind feeling down, and then realized - I could do other things with the game! I bought a gameshark, and went to every website I could find. I really had fun with it. I thought nothing could be better, and for a while I was right. I tryed FFT, and thought it was lame. I just learned more about it, and like it a little more, but it still can't top FF7. I tryed Zelda 64, and even though it was a whole lot better than FFT, it still was no match to FF7. Now, I have higher hopes. From what I hear, FF8 will prove to be the best game yet, and I hope this is true. I am really looking forward to seeing if FF8 can beat FF7 and become the best ever, or if it will just be another sequal the is forgotten untill a better one can come out. Personally, I hope it is the first of the two, but only time will tell ...

Speedogg85 Anticipates: Me and everybody else in America all know that Final Fanstasy 8 will be the game of 1999. The hell with that. This will be the best game ever. I've played the demo from Brave Fencer Musashi and I was impressed. It takes a lot to impress me. I have a small request of you. I can already anticipate how fast this game will sell out as well. Alex Pappas Anticipates: I cant wait for FF8 to come out!!! But some of your viewers are exagerating....first of all FF7 was the best game ever(untill FF8) even though i loved Zelda. I also liked Xenogears better than Zelda because Xenogear had the best story line EVER!!! But i cant wait for FF8!

Hobojo9 Anticipates: All I can say is one word...... wow. When I first FF7 last summer it blew my mind away. It was also around that time that I heard Squaresoft was planning a Final Fantasy 8. That's how long I've waited for this game, and now that it's so close, the waiting is even harder. I don't own Playstation, so I have to wait till this winter to get FF8 for my PC. But from what I've heard it's worth the wait! Squaresoft is setting a new standard for RPG's.

Adam Nelson Anticipates: Whee. Even though I don't own a PSX, I still want the game, just to bask in it's sheer holiness. I bet it'll do almost as good as Star Wars Episode 1 based on the demographics from the Japanese release. Long live Square! Long live Final Fantasy! Long live every single game they've made! Including Secret of Evermore....wait, Square of America did that. Never mind!

I really can't wait to see what treats you have waiting for your FFVIII page. Let me say that I have 3 favorite games all tied for the #1 position: Metal Gear Solid, Zelda 64, and Final Fantasy VIII. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT FOR FFVIII. I even bought the latest Official PlayStation Mag to get the demo...and OH MY GOD IT RULES!!!!!!!!!! Well, looking forward to the quest ahead. Toaster Anticipates: I've heard a lot of people say that they didn't have very high hopes on Final Fantasy VIII, and unfortunately, this isn't in reference to the common "how could anything beat FFVII !!!!" quotes. Of course this is all people first hand telling me their impression of the Demo, which I actually liked. I've read an online review saying that if not for the slightly less than FF standard music the entire game would be a perfect 10, but I liked what I've heard of the music as well.... Soooooo.... bad news put aside, I'm buying FF VIII even if I don't own a PSX. Not like I don't have enough merchandise as it is....

Bill Anticipates: To tell you the truth I already reserved my copy at Wal-Mart of Final Fantasy VIII but deep inside I am going to miss the characters of Final Fantasy VII, and I don't think that Final Fantasy VIII can ever beat Final Fantasy VII's Story line I mean there was love, action, comedy, suspense, and horror and there were so many characters to demonstrate those emotions, and I am going to miss that. And that is why I am going to start a new game of Final Fantasy VII and also have my game of Final Fantasy VIII and compare the two becuase Final Fantasy VII...No one can beat that GREAT storyline...It's all about Cloud and Aeris man!

Darkwizard5 Anticipates: Hello Video Gamer X, I recently acquired a demo containing Final Fantasy VIII, and after playing it many many times, have come to a conclusion. THE GAME IS GONNA KICK MAJOR ASS. The clean and crisp animation and solid gameplay have shown some good improvement, and the new magic system is a breath of fresh air. Though I am a concerned that the date of release (I think it`s 9/8/99) Is not a smart move. Dreamcast coming the next day is definatly going to effect sales, but hell, with a game with this much raw kick ass fun, it shouldn`t have much trouble.

FF7 was up to this point, thee greatest rpg of all time, and to think that this one will be even better amazes me. The fmv's were beautiful in FF7, and i cant wait to see them in FF8. J. E. Shepard Anticipates: WOW, is just one of the many words that i could say to discribe this awsome game. The graphics are unbeliveable and so realistic as far as the charecters go. I love the idea of the new magic system it's more of a chalange to get all the GF's then it was to get the spells in previous FF games. I would have to say that QUETZALCOATL was one of the coolest GF's. i got to see that 'cause one of my friends works at EB and he showed me the japenese verision. But all's i can say is this game kicks ass! and Thursday better hurry up and get here.
