![]() Welcome to the site devoted to the experience that is Final Fantasy VIII. I, Video Gamer X, have been the webmaster for "The Epic of Final Fantasy VII," and "The Odyssey of Hyrule," and now I bring you my internet site devoted to perhaps the greatest RPG closing out our millennia. Following in the footsteps of an array of RPG's that have come before it, Final Fantasy VIII embarks on whole new experience in terms of plot development and immersive gameplay taking elements from prior incarnations and enhancing what qualities that made those games excell. This game elevates the genre to a new strata, and presents itself as the trailblazer of tomorrow's "Movie Games" and fully interactive Role-Playing high-resolution experiences coming in the Next Generation of consoles ariving early next century. What does that mean? It's going to be a whole lot of fun for us gamers and RPG fans by enhancing the depth and realism or our games! This site is intended to be your source for Final Fantasy VIII and related information before, during, and after the game's subsequent release in America and English speaking nations. This site is to be something that everyone can enjoy and be a part of. Feel free to participate in any one of the Final Fantasy related discussion pages or send along something you feel might make the site a better place to be. I hope that this site can become successful and reach a lot of fans. One thing is certain, as time passes, there will be much more to see and do as the site grows to maturity and remains forever as a monument to something that is and always will be great. I want Final Fantasy VIII: The Adventure Continues to be an everlasting tribute to the wonderful Final Fantasy RPG's and focus primarily on the series' pinnacle of beauty and function, Final Fantasy VIII. Expect to see a full "Video Gamer X" style walkthrough and strategy guide of the game soon after it's release in America as well as avid discussions related to the game. I, Video Gamer X, believe that we gamers of the world are a collective entity, a subculture of adventurers that boldly transcend the mundane worlds of our parents and their parents to actualize true freedom. We challenge our minds, our intuitive natures, our dexterity and wits, and allow our imaginations to roam free across plains of unbridaled independance. We are the generation that will shape tomorrow, and in that truth we are the ones who will make our most sanctified wishes come to fruition. I may be young, and seen by adults as merely someone without experience or of little knowledge, but judging superficially the character of another is the mistake of an ignorant mind. Perhaps that slacker that sits in the back of the classroom, or that kid who draws space aliens all day will someday become the next Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, or Wilber Wright. Maybe the shy girl that never talks will be President of the United States, find the cure for cancer, or discover the secret of interstellar travel. Each and every one of us has the capability to be something more than a limp piece of flotsum tossed in the sea of humanity's turbulent will. In our gaming excursions we have become heros of all time, warriors of hope, keepers of truth, and political planners. We have changed the world and halted its distruction. The challenge of life's RPG is to actualize our aspirations for what we see as being the definative explanation of existance and to shape our environment to fit that which we invision in our mind's eye. Chaos and the proclivity for self annihilation is the foe that must be overcome in order to maliate our life and society toward a greater solution. To defeat the demons that lurk in the recesses of self-doubt and apathetic compliance we must learn from the mistakes of our predecessors and re-write the rules that have governed the past. Let your individuality be representative of an emancipation from the confines of what others desire you to become or conform to, never lose sight of your dreams, and bathe in the fruits of your imagination. You have the ability to master the game, and win eternal satisfaction. In those days, words of simplicity were spoken casual, while sleeping wizards dreamt of distant suns. - Video Gamer X (Year of the Unspoken Catyclism ~1999~) |
