THE DRAGON CATAPULT
PHOTO 1 - PHOTO 2

Seeking for a powerful mobile weapon to siege the Pheonix Fortress the king commissioned his supreme commander Hailen Kain and the army to construct a war device that could be used in battle and to loft stones above castle and fortress walls. Following the royal decree and with compensation of 50,000 gold the commander set to work on their powerful new weapon. Having used small sized hand thrown catapults to loft rocks at troops proved moderately successful in the past. And so he designed a horse drawn seige weapon capable of hurling large stones hundreds of feet. He and his men with the assistance of the town blacksmith created a grand catapult, and the Dragon Knights had developed a new weapon. The king hoped to use it against the Knights of the Pheonix in an upcoming offensive in revenge for what was done at Nirian. Sending charmed Dragons in the sky and this catapult would surely guarantee victory.

This catapult was really kind of something I wanted to do for awhile. It didn't take many parts to build, but it does contain non LEGO brand Tyco bricks to accomplish the jagged body of the cart. Lego makesno parts like this, and the color matched so I used them and they worked effectively. Believe it or not the catapult works! I used a rubber band to provide tension as you pull back on the bucket. It can hurl a LEGO about 5 - 6 feet. If I doubled or tripled up on the rubber bands its possible the catapult could become ballistic and really annihilate LEGO castle walls.
