"Dr. Johnson, I think I've just found something!" Edward called out, as he was galloping through the dark, damp corridors of the Ancient Egyptian temple. "Urph!" he exclaimed, as he had just tripped and fallen on his bottom side. Before him stood Henry Johnson, world renown archaeologist, so he had a reason to be excited.
"Mr. Adams, what in the name of Heaven are you all excited for?" the Englishman calmly inquired.
"Over here!" he panted as he got up. The young man was too out of breath to give an adequate response.
"Well, Jane," the doctor sighed as he turned toward her. "We aren't getting far with this, so we might as well check out your husband's findings." So the three of them headed down the corridors, through the many chambers and passageways that the temple had to offer. It was a just discovered but a few months ago, thought to be one of the last remaining ancient structures of Egypt. When the news and media finally calmed down about the whole thing, the team of professional scientists were ready to uncover the temple's many mysteries. It was found buried under the Great Sphinx in Giza, something very unexpected. No one had ever tried to dig underneath it before, never mind move the huge stone object any distance away. But in the year 2025, a time where there are few great discoveries left of the past that could be found, this was the perfect people-pleasing solution. Of course, scientists had detected an unknown figure under the Sphinx, but to tell the world beforehand would be much less exciting.
When the three archeologists arrived at the spot, Edward had quickly rushed out in front of them to show off his findings. "Take a look at this!" he said to Johnson, enthusiastically. He pulled out a slab of stone with ancient hieroglyphic inscriptions from the wall that it was leaning on and dragged it to Dr. Johnson for a closer inspection.
"My, my, Mr. Adams. It looks like you've found something here! Wonderful job! It's looking more and more like the three of us will become a full-fledged team, one day or another." Dr. Johnson said, proudly. The doctor kneeled down in front of the stone and started deciphering the ancient writings. "Let's see. If I remember my Ancient Egyptian language course in college, I should be able to translate. It reads:
'The one who speaks the words of this tablet of the Ancients,
shall awaken the Weapons:
Amoke rokeda te daktey.
These are the words.'"
"Oh my gosh!" Dr. Johnson exclaimed as he rose onto his feat. "This is what I have been searching for all these years! This is it! The Temple of the Cetra! The resting place of the Weapons! Finally, I will receive the fame that I've always wanted!!!" Edward and Jane looked at Johnson with puzzled faces.
Suddenly, the ground beneath the scientists' feet began to tremble. Dust started falling from the ceiling and a loud roar was heard. Louder and louder it became until, before their very eyes, the temple floor cracked wide open! An infinite blackness lay below. It was too sudden for Johnson to do anything, as the married couple had fallen into the dark chasm that had just appeared. Astonished and frightened, Johnson ran as fast as he could, trying to reach the exit in time, when...
