WELCOME

Welcome gamers from far and wide across this universe of information, today represents the unveiling of my newest site, The Experience of Shenmue, in tribute of a game that will become forever remembered as one of the greatest works created for the Sega Dreamcast console system. I myself am taken aback when I view screenshots and movie clips of this amazing and beautiful game. There have come many games in the chronicle of gaming history. Many lasting monumental games have been crafted in my lifetime, The Super Mario Bros. series, The Legend of Zelda series, the Metroid series, the illustrious Final Fantasy series, Sonic the Hedgehog, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, and Metal Gear Solid, to name the best. The Sega Dreamcast, released in 1999 represented the first of the next generation of gaming systems beyond the strata of the Nintendo 64 and the Sony Playstation. With the Sega Dreamcast came the hope that a once great company would return to it's prior glory seen with the Genesis. Indeed, Sega delighted gamers with its Launch titles like Soul Calibur which showed what 128-bit graphics would be all about. Coming in Late 2000, Sega will not be alone in the 128-bit echelon in the United States due to the expected release of the Playstation 2. In about the same time, Americans will be treated to the work of art that is Shenmue.

Prior to release of this game in the United States, this site will contain screenshots, discussion, and anticipation of this masterpiece. As the game is released this site will become a locale for strategy and gameplay assistance brought to you first hand by Video Gamer X. One thing you can expect from me is that I am unbiased and represent you, the gamer. I'm not making any profit by having these sites, no sponsor is paying me, so if a game sucks, I'll say so. I've played video games since I was very young, and I've been from one genre to the other, and have seen the greats and the failures, so you can be assured that I have a good foundation to base my judgements upon.

To be a gamer is to be an individual undaunted by the prosiac servitude of day to day life, a person who desires to capture the essense of their imagination's vision, and manifest it upon the canvas of existance. A gamer controls the fate of the realities he or she experiences and in turn the realities motivate the will of the gamer to venture forth into uncharted domains and long for that next excursion into the unbridaled freedom of the next adventure. I personally, feel blessed to be born and living in a golden age where the myths, stories, novels, and dreams of people who came before me, can be relived and remanifested right before my eyes. Such things we have today are magical, and we are the wizards of these manifold domains. Many video games have become more that just a source of entertainment, but rather a focal point of existance where one can truly say that time was well utilized while enduring their captivating liberation.
