A full moon tonight
Accompanied with an eerie silence
But not for long
In this desert region
A lone wolf prowls the wasteland
On a constant lookout
Scavenging for any downed prey
But without much luck
The wolf stops for a moment
All of a sudden
Its eyes glued at the night sky
More specifically the moon
Feelings stir inside
Of wonder
Of awe
Of longing
The wolf trots for a distance
And ends up sitting at the ledge of a cliff
All the while
It was thinking about the moon
The wolf stares up again
At the moon
And then it raises its head all the way
And lets out a howl
The wolf continues to howl
A melancholy cry
Other wolves soon follow suit
But what are they howling for?
Perhaps they are trying to push aside their worries
Perhaps they are hoping to see the moon up close
Perhaps the moon is some sort of deity to these wolves
Perhaps they long for the return of a long lost ancestor
