VIDEO GAMER X's FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSIONS

To better help you and to make sure everyone who visits my sites knows what's going on and is up on the latest news, I've created a general FAQ section related to my sites.

Is the Odyssey of Hyrule Dead now that Zelda 64 has been out for a long time now?

Heh, well the Odyssey of Hyrule will never die unless my financial situation deteriorates worse than it is now and I can't afford internet access anymore. I hope it doesn't et to that. Understand that the Odyssey of Hyrule is a general all purpose Zelda site that covers all the major releases and delves into the history of Zelda and player's feelings toward the game like no other site has. I had to make my Majora's Mask site, The Oddity of Hyrule separate from the Odyssey because it contained a lot of information. Hopefully once I am able to purchase the two new GameBoy Color games I'll be able to post information on those as well. Furthermore I will certainly be adding information about GameCube Zelda as it appears.

How come you never posted my name and score on the Who Wants to Obtain the Triforce Thingy?

Interestingly enough I still get a lot of responses to the contest/gameshow WWTOTT. If you notice on the Winners page and scoll down to the bottom the first round of the game has already ended. Round 1 is done now and has been for a few months. The Host, Castle Guard said he would make some two more of the contests soon to complete the Triforce of Courage and Power. If you've sent entries in not viewing that page, then I'm sorry.

My game is no good now after doing that "See Japanese Text Trick" and I lost my saved file.

How many times have I said it, that trick is deadly. I put it in big red letters on the page NOT to do this to your own game. Try it on a rental ONLY! I am not responsible for you trashing your only copy of Zelda and corrupting the save file.

I still think the Triforce is In Zelda 64 no matter what you say that it isn't because so and so told me such and such.

Yep you're right, you sniffed me out. I've been hiding to myself for all these years. I know and I won't tell you! Na..na...na...na...na.... Mwa ha ha ha....

Are you making a Metal Gear Solid 2 site?

Well actually, I might. I'm certainly considering it since it's such a groundbreaking milestone game. I still have a lot of work to do on my Final Fantasy X site before I can start a new one.

Do you hate pokemon?

I shall excersize the plausible deniability clause and say that I can neither confirm nor deny the existance of the aforementioned "game."

Do you make any other sites other than the Odyssey of Hyrule?

What amazes me is how so many people never scroll down as far as the bottom of the main page on the Odyssey of Hyrule to discover links to my other sites. I have several sites online now. I even have a site that is older than the Odyssey of Hyrule and Oddity of Hyrule that was my first video game site, The Epic of Final Fantasy 7. Technically that site isn't anywhere in what I would consider a finished state, more or less it's retired. Should I have nothing left to do with another site, I will return to it and finish and expand many of it's sections to give it a more complete look. After I created the FF7 site, I progressed to make the Odyssey of Hyrule, which at it's pinnacle of January 1999, reached an astounding 2.3 million hits for that month. WOW! That site gobbled up 99.9996% of the traffic on the computer where it's stored...geez. I then proceeded for a short while to invision a Xenogears site, Where Eternal Path's Cross, but it never got off the ground due to the extensive time involved in playing Xenogears from start to finish to truly create an appropriate tribute in a site. Xenogears is an awesome RPG, and I do plan to return to this site in the future. I have started a walkthrough of the game, but it takes a LONG time to even come close with one considering the game is an epic. Another issue that stunted the growth of the Xenogears site was the future release of Final Fantasy VIII, which prompted me to create, Final Fantasy VIII: The Adventure Continues, a very good site where I wrote some of my best work. Technically, I don't consider this one finished either, there are some things which I will eventually truly finish. I leave the site in a reserved status at the moment considering I am doing other projects at this time. From the Final Fantasy site I created a section called Final Fantasy Unlimited that was supposed to be for fantasy and sci-fi fiction. This section alone got me to thinking about creating a site for literature and the arts, and thus Unlimited Fantasy was born, where you can even catch a glimse of the first couple chapters of my novel, Khakain: The Coming of the Chosen One. Originally I didn't know the fate of what was being called as a sequel to Ocarina of Time for the N64, at first Nintendo was calling the game Zelda: Gaiden, and then Zelda: The Continuing Saga, and then I heard Zelda: The Mask of Mujula, and I suppose they finally settled on Zelda: Majora's Mask. In doing so I created my Majora's mask site, "The Oddity of Hyrule" a play on the title of the Odyssey of Hyrule. Majora's Mask did turn out to be quite a deviation from standard Zelda themes, the best correllation would be that of Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland" Such was the case for Link in this game. WIth the release of the Dreamcast there would be no doubt that it would be a totally new experience in gaming, indeed, this proved true with a seemingly non mainstream game, (you would be surprised how many gamers I talk to never played it), Shenmue. This game is a true masterpiece of gaming, trailblazing new territory in gaming. I just couldn't pass up making a site, The Experience of Shenmue for this amazing adventure. Shenmue has to be seen to be believed, it's probably in my opinion the best video game ever made to date of writing this, that is, until Shenmue II comes out. Of course in tradition of all the previous epics that followed it Final Fantasy IX was to be Squaresoft's most profound effort in the series for the Playstation. Indeed the game blended the best of Final Fantasy from the 16 bit era and new age of Final Fantasy on the Playstation. Following in suit with my tradition of Final Fantasy devoted sites, I crafted In Tribute to the Epic Squaresoft Legacy: Final Fantasy IX. This site is still not what i would consider finished since I have to complete the strategy guide and some other things regarding the whole Final Fantasy and Reality connections. Getting toward 5 years ago, I wanted to make a website devoted to the paranormal, science, technology, and philosophy but I knew very little of HTML. What I did know I used with the help of a friend to create a site called "The Crossroads of the Mind's Eye." I really didn't know much about programming, and my interest in Final Fantasy VII kind of pigeonholed the Crossroads project, and it remained dormant for a long time. Until recently, January 1, 2001 to be exact, the site remained unchanged, however I have redone the entire thing, and although still with much left to do there, I have revived the site as, The Millennium Crossroads of the Mind's Eye a site that I really have a special plan for as time goes by. It's a site that I will continue to develop with articles and related material that will someday hopefully achive size equal if not greater to the Odyssey of Hyrule. I hope to address many provocative issues there, and plan to truly focus on very profound and sometimes controversial issues. The Crossroads is my long term goal. You know I picked that awesome Techno song out in about 1995 for it. I though techno was cool before everyone else did. If you have a decent sound card with good MIDI drivers you should enjoy Crossroads Techno.

I hate to break this to you, but Jessie in Final Fantasy VII, is a girl, it's not a gay guy.

Yep, you're right. I know such things NOW, but I didn't realize it back then (1997). As it were the poor polygonal renders of those characters didn't help too much. That site is very old and outdated with what I know now.

What does "Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec" mean in Final Fantasy VIII?

Okay, take all the letters and rearrange them and you get the following: SUCCESSION OF WITCHES and the word LOVE. Don't believe me, try it yourself. These are the general themes of Final Fantasy VIII. It was very clever of Squaresoft to make it sound Latin, even throwing crazy things Latinlike phrases and roman numerals in Ultimecia's Castle. Who made that up? I have no idea.
