WANTED: GAME REVIEWERS

To provide the most interesting and comprehensive content available, I want Video Gamer X, my namesake website, to contain a large amount of information on general gaming related issues. Most specifically, I want to have reviews of numerous video games so that anyone interested in finding information about a game before buying it, can get a gamer's perspective. I go to some websites and I have to wade through a pile of crap and ads just to find information about the game I'm interested in. I don't want VGX to be like that. Rather, any game should be accessable to visitors from the front page.

I own many video games, but I don't think it's possible for me, by myself, to play through every one of those games and write a decent review. This being the case, I'm opening the door for you, the reader to become part of this website by reviewing video games. What I'm looking for is this: You're review should be comprehensive and in an essay form, touching on the elements of the game like graphics and visuals, sound and aural ambiance, gameplay, innovation, replay value, and storyline if the game is an RPG, or Adventure title with a plot. You should also go into depth as to how this game made you feel as a gamer. It would also help if you have experience with games, playing them for years, and have knowledge of prior systems ranging from the NES, SNES, Genesis, all the way to the modern era of the X-Box, PS2, and GameCube. This could should give you a good insight into console gaming.

You need to get the overall feel of what it's like to play it, you need to be very descriptive so that anyone who has never played the game knows everything about it. Essentially, what I'm getting at is: What buttons do what? Was it hard to play at certain times, easy to play at others? Was it fun? Do you think older gamers would like this, or is it more for kids? As far as the graphics are, how did the game look, was it colorful and did it have good animations, or was it plain and ordinary, nothing special? Were you "wowed" by the game, or was it just another "Me-too" type game? Essentially, what I'm getting at here is, as a person who has never played the game, I need to have a very descriptive explanation of what exactly it's all about. Explain the path you take from beginning the game to end. For your review to be accepted it needs to have all the things listed above and you need to rate the game numerically on a scale of 1 - 10 for the categories listed above. When the review is published it will look like this with the scores filled in:

GRAPHICS AND VISUAL PRESENTATION ?
SOUND AND AURAL AMBIANCE ?
GAMEPLAY AND CONTROL ?
STORYLINE ?
REPLAY VALUE ?
INNOVATION ?

It is very helpful if you spell check you review. You can simply cut n' paste it directly into an email if you like, but spell and grammar check it first that way people will be able to read it easily. If your review is not descriptive enough or does not give a clear picture of all the aspects that make the game, it may not be posted or be sent back to you for elaboration. You can review any game you want to, heck even an Atari or NES title if you so choose to even though these are no longer offered in stores some of these vintage console games can be obtained on auction sites online like Ebay, so maybe some retrogamer will benefit from your review of a classic. However, it is likely that more people will read reviews of games for the modern console systems or current PC games.

Good Luck, and I'm looking forward to your reviews.
