GHOST HUNTING GUIDE

I've been investigating the paranormal for some time now, and from all the research I've accumulated relating to ghosts and haunted places, I've seen many common factors that can be used as a template for understanding hauntings and ghosts more readily. I've used techniques that I've shown to produce results. Some investigators have used various resources to accumulate data on hauntings and poltergeist events, including instruments, psychics, eyewitness account, and physical evidence. Mind you, this is a psudoscience, so it requires a good deal of open-mindedness to the potential results of an investigation. Sometimes the rational explaination doesn't wash with one that might seem somewhat irrational. Yet when the irrational explaination fits the evidence it's fairly safe to venture on a hypothesis.

How do I know a ghost is around, or if my house is haunted? Now, understand, I don't think all houses are haunted, I only think that non-corporeal lifeforms (whether human or not) may occupy a paticular location for sometime possibly caused by detachment of the confinement of 3-D linear spacetime at certain locations. Whether or not you perceive a ghost or unseen presence may hinge upon you coinciding with it's occupation of your region of spacetime. Why are ghosts, ones that seem like they are dead people, hang around houses and buildings? I've thought about this, and often times we has human beings grow fondly attached to things in our life whether on a conscious or unconscious level. Most often we find that our home is the most secure place in our lives. We touch everything in our home as well. In essense we are rubbing a piece of ourselves, our electromagnetic information into our surroundings, making it possible that that connection to reality may be most perceptable localized to a place where we spent a great deal of time like a building or a house. After our electromagnetic energy is separated from the material body upon death, consciousness may gravitate toward regions where it feels most comfortable like that home, or the consciousness may focus on a specific event and in perception of that event, the energy manifests itself at the location of the event in space-time thus resulting in those hauntings where people perceive some event being reinacted like a horrible death or a suicide.

One commonly documented occurance in areas that are considered haunted is that of "cold spots." Cold spots are areas where the ambient air temperture dramatically decreases. A person may immediately feel a cool or cold chill that may pass near or though their body. Sometimes objects in the area of the cold spot will also seem cold to the touch. A good thing to do when you feel an area or house is haunted and you encounter a cold spot. Feel any items or the wall adjacent to where you felt the cold spot then immediately touch the wall 12 to 15 feet away. If you encountered something unusual you probably will feel a drastic difference in the temperture. My theory on this has something to do with electromagnetic energy affecting the kinetic movement of atoms in a paticular airspace or space-time location as reflected in our 3-D world. To put it simply there is a force, whether it be an ghost, entity, or lifeform that has no physical manifestation, rather is occupying the same location in space time as the observer, but is likely out of phase with our dimension in some fashion, much in the same way light and radio waves can have different phases, so to I believe, can space-time.

Further supporting my theory, are the occurrence of electromagnetic field spikes localized to the area where a haunting occurs, and often run in conjunction with cold spots. These are only detectable with EMF Detectors designed to measure the severity of electromagnetic fields and discharges. This is a must have ghost hunting item, but don't think you've found a ghost if you put it near your refrigerator, your computer monitor, or your video game system. These items all emit electromagnetic fields that will spike the meter.

Another method of ghost detection requires expensive Thermal Imaging Equipment capable of detecting variations in ambient temperature of surfaces. These kind of cameras show temperature and movement of heat. When kinetic energy of particles lowers they get colder, when they get faster, something warms up and gets hotter. I good example of understanding kinetic energy and movement of particles is when you turn a chunk of ice into steam by boiling it. You can do this experiment right now if you like. Take the ice from the freezer and put it in a pot on the stove. You'll notice that the Ice is very cold when you touch it meaning that all it's atoms are pretty much not doing much and are not moving around that much. Turn the burner on. You'll notice that the Ice starts melting and turning into water. The water is still the same thing as the ice, but all the atoms are moving farther apart, and they are getting warmer. Keep watching, and the water will eventually boil away and you can see the steam coming out of the pot now, the water atoms moved so far apart that they all ran away from each other. Put your hand over the steam now. OUCH! (Now what did you do that for?) If you didn't burn yourself, you probably saw that the steam was very hot. Going back to the cold spots, these will appear on thermal imaging as blue or purple zones where other surrounding surfaces are yellow, orange, or red. I think white is the hottest, although it might be in the middle, I'm not entirely sure. Obviously, thermal evidence shows that some sort of force may be exerting influence on the atomic structure of reality by altering the kinetic movement of the particles in a wall or your body for example.

Going back to the fact that a ghost or entity is existing out of phase with our spacetime because it no longer has a material form, it is plausible to assume that if some force is exerting influence on our perceiveable material reality, Here's an example of how your brain can only perceive information at a finite rate. Look at the blades of a fan when it's off. Obviously the blades of the fan are solid and light doesn't pass though them. Now turn the fan on high. Notice that the blades disappear and we can see though the fan, it becomes transparent. Your brain can't perceive the thousands of revolutions per-minute so it's only making the best guess, showing the fan blades as being transparent. More or less, your brain's CPU just isn't fast enough to process information that quickly from from your eyes. Following my example, it's likely to assume that entities that haunt or occupy a certain location may manifest this electromagnetic energy discharge at an imperceptable location in space-time beyond the brain's capability to comprehend it consciously. Sometimes, people may catch on though if the energy stays coherent enough, long enough, for the brain to see it. Some people have seen actual people, mists, amorphic forms, or transparent figures in cases of hauntings. How can this be detected? Well oddly enough, there is an instrument that you can buy just about anywhere that may be able to see a ghost. A camera is a device that allows light photons (electromagnetic energy) to pass though a lens onto a peice of film or photographic paper at a tiny fraction of a second. I've seen cases where camera's have captures mysterious forms, shapes, and images exposed onto the film. I personally can't vouch for the validity of such material but what I have seen is quite compelling considering cameras shown to capture such images were tested in laboratories for tampering and none was found. This seems to occur on Polaroid Cameras moreso than the standard film type cameras. This may have something to do with how the Polaroid captures the image onto the film paper and the development in the emultion layers, but frankly I don't know why ghost images appear more frequently on this type of camera. Again, remember the camera is capturing light at a faster rate than your brain can perceive it so any electromagnetic anomalies like ghosts may appear on the film.

The human brain is designed to extrapolate data about the rational world with the five senses, but the truth of the matter is, is that there are natural events that occur outside of those five senses - like gravity, x-rays, and netrino particles that pass through your body; things your brain can't perceive readily. Your consciousness and ability to perceive reality rests in the brain, and is transmitted throughout the body to interact with your environment and manipulate your surroundings. The brain is a transceiver for information, and utilizes chemical reactions and electromagnetic impules to keep you alive and able to read this paragraph. Mind you, in this notion, it is acceptable to assume that influences outside of the typical 5 senses could affect the brain or be perceived by the brain, most often dismissed as irrational data or nonsense because of its nonconformity with the set rules of the five senses, but nevertheless perceived anyway by the unconscious mind. This is where psychic ability comes in. When those senses are shut off, what is left? The brain is still there, and you have things like creativity, the imagination, and dreams that lurk amist the innerspace of the mind. Over millions of years we humans have evolved our ability to learn more about our environment and influence it more as development progressed and this adaptation was incorporated into our genetic code. If the perception of the subconscious can be manifested into the conscious then it may be possible to access knowledge of events occuring in higher dimensional space-time or those aforementioned ephemerally brief temporal incursions of entities out of phase with consciously perceptable linear time. I do believe, that genuine psychics have the ability to use unconscious information as a way to perceive reality. I have a feeling that many of use have this capacity although it may be dormant or unrecognized. Paranormal investigators have used psychics to derive the thoughts of non-corporeal entities, and I've seen investigations where the psychic was more than 90% accurate in their reproduction of information related to a person who had died. I believe we can all train ourselves to sense higher dimensional space-time and manipulations of our material perception of reality, but I'll save that for another article.

Something to try when you think an entity, or ghost is near you is to visualize an image or ask the ghost a question in your mind and see if anything changes about your surroundings. Did a book move from one spot to another, but you didn't hear any sound or see it move? Is that long thing (a ruler on a table for example) pointing to another thing as a message? Did the wind all of the sudden gust? There may be clues left by a ghost if you can perceive the order from the chaos of your surroundings. Another device which I will give some merit to is a focused and basic communication medium like a Quija Board. These allegedly have been used to communicate with spirits in the past, and I have a feeling I know how it works. When you have just he Quija with a set domain of letters, numbers, and a yes or no answer (0 or 1 in binary) you simplify the complexity of thought communication and lessen interference from extraneous input. Just as a modem sends and receives packets of data in tiny pieces if you are open to subconscious influence, this will likely manifest on the board. Most of the time I've seen that with a Quija board you are not as distracted with superfluous information streaming into your brain, rather you are concentrated on receiving some kind of answer in this simplified alphanumerical form. The one thing that makes it hit or miss when using a Quija is that you have the factor of the will of the person moving the pointer. Human will could drown out receptive signals and rather move the pointer to where you think it should be because you are forcing a response. Another method, that puts human will out of the picture is to drop the pointer onto the Quija from a set height (5 feet for example) and observe the letter, number, or postion that it lands on recording the information in an array as you do so.

Can you hear ghosts, or spirits? I've seen experiments conducted in haunted houses where a tape recorder is left alone in a room on Play and the ambient sounds of the room are recorded. In this experiment they recorded a voice, albeit very faint, or sometimes repetitive that announces it's presense. The only way I can think that something like this would work is if the electromagnetic energy of the ghost somehow manipulates the magnetic tape inside the tape recorder through some kind of thought transferance from higher dimensional spacetime. I don't guarantee that this will work, but you can give it a try, just get a tape player, and leave the room, in a room that you know no one will go into and there is nothing in it that could cause noise. Play back the tape recorder when you are done. I wouldn't doubt that you would get a couple hours of dead air but possibly if you know the room is haunted, you may get some form of communication.

The intent of this section is to familiarize you with steps and means to contact spirits and ghosts, a ghost hunting guide if you will, based upon experiments conducted by paranormal investigators sometimes commissioned by universities or privately funded. I've conducted experiments similar to these in an attempt to contact higher dimensional life and non-corporeal entities and I do feel I was successful. This kind of thing must be a personal quest. To each who experiences the paranormal he or she must derive their own meaning from the occurrances. Perhaps these lifeforms, perhaps even once living humans, are trying to contact us, send us a message, or bridge that vast gulf between life and death. With an open mind many opportunities to broaden your horizons will be actualized. There may be a guardian angel waiting to whisper a secret in your ear, or a ancient medicine man watching over the land of his people. A little boy cuddles his teddy bear, while a depressed man contemplates his suicide. Distant memories in our time, they exist eternal in theirs.
