![]() TWO WEEKS TO MAJORA's MASK! Would you believe it, only 2 weeks left and Majora's Mask will be here in many N64 owner's hands! This will probably be my last N64 game, but I will be glad to continue the saga of Zelda and I will eagerly await Nintendo GameCube and the limitless possibilities this new system will offer Mr. Miyamoto. It feels just like yesterday when I got Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, and the Odyssey of Hyrule expanded. I had created my first gaming site for Final Fantasy VII in 1997, The Epic of Final Fantasy VII, and I wanted to expand my expression of what I enjoy about video games to a series that I have always cherished since I was very young, the Zelda games. There are a lot of things I am looking forward to seeing in Majora's Mask. I know there are many displays out there in stores like Toys R' Us and Wal-Mart that have a demo of this game, but I haven't played these so that I will be totally ready for the game at launch and I will not spoil any potential excitement I may encounter. Yeah, I'll admit it, Majora's Mask isn't the sprawling epic medieval adventure I was hoping for, but I do think this game will be a colorful expression of the Zelda adventure and an alternate perspective on the Ocarina of Time motif. If you haven't noticed my site THE ODDITY OF HYRULE yet, then go there, this site is devoted entirely to Majora's Mask and will feature extensive strategy related to this game, as well as gamer discussions and my commentary on many issues related to the game at and after launch. The Oddity of Hyrule could someday be as large as the sprawling expanse that is Odyssey, a work that is almost 3 years into production. By any means the birth of Oddity doesn't mean the death of The Odyssey of Hyrule. There are many things and ideas that I have yet to complete fully, even another episode of Something to Laugh At (if I can find the file! - all those files with zsomething.htm argh!) as well as continuations on the Video Game Violence Debate that will link across all my sites, and my own Zelda Movie/GameCube Adventure that captures the adventure of the series roots. Furthermore, in the long term, I have plans to convert the hundreds and hundreds of pages of Odyssey and Oddity into a book authored by myself entitled the "The Odyssey of Hyrule - May the Way of the Hero Lead to the Triforce!" chronicling the many incarnations of Zelda since 1986, and the of many experiences, and shared thoughts about the game expressed on this site. The book may someday be offered right here on the Odyssey of Hyrule for you the fans to obtain your own copy to share with friend's and family. Who knows your letter might get immortalized in the pages of the book. My hopes are high, so the legend can never fade away. This site has now become an established resident on the internet. Over 822,000 unique Zelda fans have viewed this site since December of 1998, resulting in millions and millions of hits. I'm very much glad that at least some part of the things I have written has been shared with so many people, and I hope to instill the continuing tradition of honoring something that deserves to be admired and appreciated. ![]() Back to the Odyssey of Hyrule ![]() Back to the Oddity of Hyrule |
