VIDEO GAMER X GETS THE THE BONUS DISK:
FULL GAME WALKTHROUGH FOR ZELDA 64 - MASTER QUEST
If you pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker you will recieve the Special Edition Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme and Master Quest disc. This finally gives us American gamers the chance to play the 64DD version of the game, being emulated on the GameCube, something I kicked Nintendo for ages ago for not doing. Nintendo finally figured it out that people wanted to play more Zelda. In a way, playing Ocarina of Time again is like putting on you're favorite old shirt that you thought you lost, or finding pictures of you when you were younger. I played Ocarina of Time, and those was truly a golden era for The Odyssey of Hyrule as many thousands of fans of Zelda and I played and experienced that game together. Here we are again, it's 2003, almost 4 and a half years since Zelda 64 debuted. The time has once again come to explore Zelda, and keep the legend alive.
My gaming set up is light years better than it was when I played Ocarina of Time. I had a 25" Basic Stereo TV back then, now I have a 36" Sony Trinitron, and full surround sound. This should be a far better experience that it once was with just my Nintendo 64 and that old TV. This is really the only way games should be played. Heck I even hooked up the NES to this TV set up and it was like living in some type of time warp back to when I was eight years old.
First I put the MiniDisc in the GameCube and started. The screen shows two choices of games, Ocarina of Time, and Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. First thing I must say is that the Zelda Overworld Theme has never sounded this good, it plays in the background of the game selection screen. Let us pause for a moment of Zelda glory, a series that spanned the 1980's, 90's, and now the 21st century.
I chose to play Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. After you select if you want the rumble feature on, and to create a game file the Ocarina of Time: Screen will appear, looks the same as before, with the same intor music but the logo for Zelda is in blue, and it says Master Quest. I can remember how awesome this intro sequence first seemed when I played Zelda 64, with the previous game being Link to the Past on the Super NES.
I created the new name, of course, I made it "Link" as always traditional on the first play of Zelda.
Examing the whole dream sequence, with Link's dream, the decree by the Deku Tree and the fly by of Navi, this prove the point that Nintendo worked on the beginning of the game potentially moreso than the latter half of the game.
It might have been nice if Nintendo increased the resoluton on the textures in the pre-rendered sections of the game, but oh well, this is vintage Ocarina of Time so far.
"Without a Fiary you're not a real man!" - Mido. Is that so....
I'm not going to go into great detail about how to get the sword and shield you should probably know that by now. Just crawl in the hole on the upper level of the Kokiri Village, and you'll get it in the chest. Just go guy a Deku Sheild for 40 rupees.
All the controls are basically the same, all Link's moves are the same.
I never could understand why only the Deku Tree talks in Ye Olde English.
INSIDE THE DEKU TREE
Be sure to collect up enough Deku Sticks by killing the Deku Baba. You'll want to climb the later onto the walkway that surrounds the large main room. There looks to be a new enemy here, a Ghoma Egg. Open the chest and get the Map. There is a Gold Skulltula underneath a crate. I just swiped the sword at it, and it died giving up the coin. Climb the sticky wall behind the chest where the map is. Do your best to avoid the bats (Keese). Once you hit the switch the torches in this area will light up and you can use a deku stick to burn down the webbing. After hitting the switch you should be able to go through the door that was blocked with the webbing.
Once inside you'll see another switch, step on it and the platforms will rise. You can jump to get the heart piece if you want, or you cross. There are a lot of baby ghomas in this area so you will have to be on your toes. Your best bet is to just kill all of them first. When you light the torch in the center of the room the chest will drop. When I opened it, I got a Deku Shield. You must kill all the enemies in this room in order to unlock the door and reveal the large chest. One Ghoma was up on the wall, I just leaped at it and it hatched and that was the last one. You'll get the Sling Shot inside the chest. Now those annoying bats can be shot from a distance, yay!
Go back outside into the main room. You can shoot the bats with the sling shot now. If you shoot the Ghomas with the sling shot while still inside the egg they will die with one hit. Now light a Deku Stick at the torch near the chest where you got the Map was. Take it over the the webbing and light the webbing on fire to reveal the door.
In the next room you'll see a giant version of the Deku Baba. Four hits should defeat the giant Deku Baba. Use the Slingshot to hit the eye above the locked door and it will open.
In the next room there will be a SkullWalltula spider, and two skulltulas just use the sling shot on the ones on the wall and your sword on the big one or the slingshot which ever you prefer. The platform in the center just collapses if you stand on it. You'll get the compass in the big chest in this room. To get back out you'll want to shoot the ladder above the entrance to the room with the Slingshot. Just go back out to the main room.
Now climb to the upper walkway at the top, and leap off to the bottom of the room, and link will bust through the webbing at the bottom. You'll drop all the way to the bottom where the water is. Now hit switch in the room, and the torch will light, use the deku stick to light the webbing near the lit torch and hit the other switch. A chest will drop and you get 5 rupees. There is a locked door here. Use the sling shot on the eye above the door to open it.
In the next room if you kill all the enemies the door you came from will unlock. No go back outside to the watery room, and light a deku stick, the carry it back into the room you were just in and light the two torches next to the door, and it will now unlock.
There's a chest next to the door with a Recovery Heart. If you step on the switch here the torch will light but if you step off it will unlight. Jump onto the moving platform that is going under the spiked turning bar. Time it properly so you don't get knocked off. Then once you get to the other side there will be a Large Skutula, facing you. What I did was climb the left side of the blue block with the sun on it close to the wall, and then when I was behind the spider, I used the slingshot to kill it. Now here's where things are a little hard. You have to hit that switch and QUICKLY light a deku stick before the torch goes out, and jump on the platform, remembering to duck under the spinning spiked pole. It's almost luck if you make it. My best suggestion, stand on the switch, and try to jump onto the platform as it is departing from the ledge, not as it is arriving, and don't forget to duck with "R".
In the next room will be four ghoma eggs and a deku scrub shooting a deku nut at you. Kill the ghoma eggs with the slingshot, be prepared to fight more ghomas, and then take out the Deku Scrub. There is a bat sitting on the ceiling. You'll have to kill all the enemes in this room for the door to unlock.
In the next room you'll see four torches, before you walk into it, you'll see four keese sitting on top of the torches. Use the slingshot to kill these. There are a lot of wedge shaped blocks with triforce symbols on them. Step on the switch to light the torches. When you step off the torches go out, you have to be fast to light the Deku Stick, but do this so that you can set fire to the webbing blocking access to the doors.
The room to the north west of this room, has 4 ghoma eggs and a Giant Deku Baba. There is a gold skultula in this room. If you go back into the area with the four torches make sure to kill the keese first, then go into the crawl space.
Once you exit the crawl space you'll be on the other side of that room that had the water in it. You'll see webbing on the floor a Deku Scrub, and a Large deku baba. Kill the deku baba, the Deku Scrub will want to sell you a Kokiri Shield. Now first pull then push the block over the edge so it goes into the water. Now you have to go light up a deku stick with the lit torch, and carry it to the webbing on the floor, and it will catch on fire and you'll be able to go down.
When you fall down there will be 3 Deku Scrubs. THe order that you have to reflect their neku nuts is 3, 1, 2, meaning get the one furthest to the right, then the one furthest to the left, then the middle one. He will then reveal the secret of Queen Ghoma, basically striking with the sword while Ghoma is stunned.
QUEEN GHOMA - Queen Ghoma was Super Easy. Here's what you do, just use the slingshot to stun her. Lock on of course, when she is stunned just use a Deku stick ot hit her instead of the sword, since the Deku stick is stronger. It took 6 deku sticks and Ghoma was done. It took me all of about 1 minute to beat her.
Oh, here we go again. This is one of the major reasons there were so many insane hunts for the Triforce, in Ocarina of Time. "For it is in that Secred Realm that one will find the devine relic, the Triforce. which contains the essence of the gods..." Then the sequence with the creation of Hyrule and the Triforce, the three golden trianges symbolizing the merger of Wisdom, Power, and Courage. Argh, WHY couldn't you get this in the game, at least at the end or something, I know the storyline says Link, Zelda, and Ganon each have a piece of the triforce inside of the, but come on, what if the Triforce gave you godlike abilities like flying the super charged blade beam attack, and all sorts of great stuff, and all the people in Hyrule could worship Link like a god. Oh well.
Deku Tree's end is nigh. He gives you the Spiritual Stone, so you can go find Zelda at Hyrule Castle. Notice how the Deku Tree mentions that Link is courageous, i.e. indicating that he contains the Triforce of Courage within him. Just like before Mido blames you for killing the Deku Tree.
Once you leave the Deku Tree area you can go fetch the Deku Seeds Bullet Bag in the Lost Woods. Just use the sling shot at get three 100 pts in a row and the Deku Scrub will give you the 40 ct Deku Seed back. You'll also find a Deku Scrup who will sell you the ability to carry more Deku Sticks for 40 rupees. Go Right, Left, Right, Left, Left, (Forward, Left, Right) to get to the Deku Salesman Hideout, Go Right, Left, Right, Left, Left, forward, left, right to get to the Sacred Forest Meadow. There will be a Wolfos you have to fight in order to open the gate to the Sacred Forest Meadow. In general most of everything is in the same place it was in regular Ocarina of Time. There is a fairy fountain in the middle of the Sacred Forest Meadow down a hole in the ground.
HYRULE FIELD
After Saria gives you the Fairy Ocarina you might as well head to Hyrule Castle. Oh, and here we go with the wise old owl, Is he the Sage of Light? Is he just taken from Link's Awakening? "I'll see you around Hoot Hoot." Nothing about Hyurle Field appears to be Different, than regular Ocarina of Time. Remember if you don't want to get attacked by the Stalchilds at night just stay on the roadway. Also the trick to make the Giant Stalchild still works, just kill enough of them and a great big one will appear. Is it just me or does day and night seem to happen quicker in Master Quest? Remember if you climb the chains on the drawbridge to the top and jump off, you'll get a 20 rupees.
HYRULE MARKET and CASTLE
If you go into that guardhouse by the drawbridge with all the jars in it, you'll see that soldier that everyone speculated, including myself that become the Poe Man in the future. Maybe it's just me but I don't remember the bearded guy in the old Zelda 64 cart. You can speak to Malon, and she tells you just like before that her father went to the castle to deliver the milk.
Once you go, on the Castle Grounds, and sneak in you'll meet Zelda. Remember you have to move the big crates by the moat where Talon was so you can jump into the culvert with the Triforce above it in the wall. I just took notice of that statue as I was sneaking into Zelda's courtyard. I wonder who that is? Perhaps the King of Hyrule? And yes, you can still see the pictures of Yoshi, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser n the window of the castle in Zelda's courtyard. If you fire at it with your slingshot a red 20 count rupee will pop out. If you do it on the other side someone will throw a bomb at Link. Just for the heck of it I told Zelda I didn't have the Spiritual Stone. Zelda mentions that Link's name sounds familiar somehow. Ah, here we go with the Triforce again, they HID IT SOMEWHERE IN HYRULE, according to what Zelda says. The sages bult the Temple of Time to protect the Triforce. Oh man, this is entirely why those Triforce rumors and quests drove people so nuts. "Let's get the Triforce before Ganondorf does, and then defeat him!" Ah, yeah...let's do that... After Impa escorts you out of the castle you can head toward Kakariko or back to the Kokiri Village to speak with Saria.
To speak with Saria go from Hyrule Field to the Kokiri Forest, to the Lost Woods, to the Sacred Forest Meadow. Once you meet with Saria she will teach you Saria's Song. Once you learn Saria's Song, go visit the Stalkid in the Lost Woods and play it, and he will give you a Heart Container Piece.
KAKARIKO
Remember there's a hole behind some fencing and someone's house, you can use a cucco to drift in there. You'll find a chest with a red rupee in it. Remember this from before, you can get all the cuccos floating around Kakariko into that pen the cucco girl will give you a bottle. One is just clucking around at the front entrace area to the village. One is hidden inside a crate near the front of the village. One is on what would seem to be an unreachable ledge. Use the slingshot to shoot at it and it will jump off the ledge. One is near the terrace by where you would go onto Death Mountain Road. One is behind the houses, in the fenced off area, just climb onto the landing by the door and throw it over the fence and then grab it again and put it into the pen. The other cucco will be found by where the windmill is. You can get a heart container piece from the guy on top of the purple roof. Just climb the lookout tower, then hold down L and R at the top and when it says to jump press A and Link will jump sideways and land on the roof. From there you might as well jump down into the area where the hole is and climb the ladder and get that other cucco on the area where the windmill is. Once you collect all the cuccos the girl will give you a bottle. You can use a cucco to float from a high area in the town to the ledge with the crack in it, and get into the cage with the cow and get the heart container piece. There is a red rupee on the upper level inside of Impa's house. At night you will find a Gold Skultula on the pile of bricks in the construction area, but you'll only find the Skultula's at night. There's another Gold Skultula at the top of the look out tower, use the slingshot to kill it. There's another one next to a shuttered window on that back of a house. There's another Gold Skultula on the back of a house close to the Guard near the gate that leads to Death Mountain Trail.
THE GRAVEYARD
At this point in the game, you might as well play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol at the back of the graveyard. When you fall down the square hole after the lighning hits the gravestone, you'll be in a room with 4 keese. Kill the bats and the door will unlock. "The rising sun will eventually set, a newborn's life will fade. From sun to moon, moon to sun. Give peaceful rest to the living dead." You'll learn the sun's song. This will allow you to change between night and day. I can't help but take notice of the Triforce symbol above the poem. Use the Sun's Song to paralyze the Redeads. Pull on the gravestones with the flowers in front of them. You'll get a free Hylian Shield underneath one of the gravestones.
To gain access to Death Mountain Trail just show the guard at the gate your letter. He will ask you to go pick out a mask for his boy from the Happy Mask Man's shop. You might want to go ahead and do that later, on your way back from Death Mountain.
DEATH MOUNTAIN TRAIL
Just Kill the Tektites and proceed to the Goron City. If you want the heart container piece above the Entrance to Dodongo's Cavern, go up to where the bomb flower is, and face Link away from the barrier toward the Goron City, then press L and walk backwards until you are near where the bomb flower is, then press A and Link will jump over the barrier onto the area where the heart container piece is.
GORON CITY
If you play Zelda's melody in from of Darunia's room the door will open for you. Play Saria's song for Darunia. Darunia will start dancing and get real happy. He will give you the Goron Bracelet. If you light a Deku Stick inside of Darunia's Throne room, and run outside and light all the switches, the pot in the center of the area will start to spin. Drop a bomb into the pot to get a heart container piece. To stop the rolling Goron, put a bomb in front of him. Once you're outside of the Goron City, go to where the bomb flower is, pick it up and throw it off the edge down to where the blocked entrance to Dodongo's cavern is. Once you do that the obstruction will be destroyed.
DODONGO's CAVERN
Once you go inside Dodongo's Cavern, just pick up a bomb flower to blow open the door. Once inside the room with the Lava and the rising and lowering platforms, you'll see a large area in the center with a bomb flower in it. The Deku Scrubs on the left just sell Deku Sticks and Deku Nuts. If you grab the bomb from the center and carry it over to the blocked entrance way to the northeast, you'll get the map. If you blow up the boulder in the northeast part of this room you will reveal a swtich. When you hit it a very tall pillar will rise from the lava. Jump on the platform when it's low enough and you'll be able to to continue. Walk across the wood bridge until you get to another switch. When you step on it it will light the torch beneath this area and unlock the door in front of it.
Once you enter the door you just unlocked. The next room has a bunch of bomb flowers around a central column, with two lasereye's in the room. Blow up the blocked door with one of the bomb flowers. Drop a bomb on the lasereye to destroy it. There is a silver rupee under one of the lasereyes. There's another one in a crate in the corner. Use a Deku Stick to light the bomb that's hanging on the wall. Throw it between the other bomb flowers around that central pillar to reveal the stairs. You'll find another silver rupee in a crate on the wooden walkway. At the top of the wood walkway near the webbing you'll find another silver rupee. Kill the Large Skultula spider with the slingshot. You'll find another silver rupee in the upper level corner of the wooden walkway. To get the Deku Scrub, just climb to the top of the wooden walkway, and shoot at him with the slingshot. He will want to sell you a Deku Shield. When you find all the silver rupees the door on the upper level of this room will unlock.
In the next room will be three Dodongos. Use your slingshot to kill these by hitting them in the mouth. 4 hits should do it for each one. A chest will appear and the door will open. You will get the compass in the large chest.
Once you go through the door you'll be above that area with the lava and raising and lowering platforms. Cross the wooden bridge here. In the next room you will see some movable blocks and torches. Position the movable blocks so that you can climb up and light the three torches. You'll have to first light a Deku Stick and run to light the first, second, then third torch. The torches are on the wall of the three columns in this room and you have to put a block underneath them. When you light the torches the door on the northwest will unlock. Inside you will find that there are Ghoma Eggs on the roof. Use the slingshot to destroy these. You will find a Gold Skutula underneath a crate in this room. Go back to the room with the torches and blocks. You should notice that the torch in the center is lit now. You'll have to carry a lit deku stick to the torch near the webbing up the ladder, and then burn down the webbing, then light he other torch on the others side of the webbing. Here's the trick, light the torch before the webbing, light the webbing, use the deku stick to kill the Large Skultula spider, then take out another deku stick and light it again with the previous torch that is lit and light the last torch.
In the next area, fall into the area where the Baby Dodongos are and kill those, then move the block so that you can climb the back ledge and enter the corridor. Make sure to kill the Keese from a distance so they aren't any trouble with the slingshot. You should see a Keese hiding in the torch, and a couple on the wall in the corridor next to the Large Skutula spider. Light a deku stick on the torch, carry it to the bomb flower on the wall near the blocked entrance and throw the bomb on the blocked entrance.
Once you get into the next room, you will be attacked by two Lizalfos. Use a Deku Stick to kill them, two hit each should do it. Be sure to Z Target these guys.
In the next room there will be fire on two pillars in the middle of the room. First go down underneath the pillars and break the crate to unblock the first switch. Climb back onto the entrance platform, and fire the slingshot at the switch, one of the flames will go down, jump on it, then jump into the crevice with the bomb flower. Pick up the bomb , and carry it to the rock in the other corner of the room. Blow up the rock to reveal the switch. Push down the switch, return to the elevated area, and fire the slingshot at the switch to extinguish both flames. Another method would be to hit the crystal switch with the sword first, then step on the other switch and quickly run up to the platform and cross the pillars.
Once you proceed you'll be above the room with the moving blocks and the torches you had to light. Cross over and go past that entrance way. You'll see a bomb flower in front of some rocks. Blow up the rocks. Take another bomb, and drop down right below where you are and blow up the blocked entranceway.
The next room will have two grey block/platforms. Stand on one grey block, then the other, to get to the bomb flower. Grab that bomb flower and blow up the rock that is covering another bomb flower. Use that bomb flower to blow up the other bomb flowers. You'll have to throw it. This will reveal a hidden eye switch. Use the slingshot to trigger the eye switch.
The next room will have two Lizalfos. Just use the Deku Stick like before as long as you have enough. When they are defeated the door will open.
In the next area, might as well pick up the bomb like before and blow up the row of bombs lining the wall, it will open the locked door right near where you came into this area. Inside will be a couple of Deku Scrubs and Keese. There's a Gold Skultula spider in the corner of this room, but you can't reach it yet without the boomerang.
Go back into the area you were just in. Kill the Poes. Destroy the bombs lining the stalactite and the other door will unlock. Go outside to get the large chest containing the Bomb Bag.
You'll be back in the room with the rising pillars and the lava. Go up to the wooden walkway up in the air, with the two sections missing. Drop bombs down into the eyes of the big skull head. The eyes will light up red, and the mouth will open.
Enter the mouth, and you'll see the room with the square hole in the middle and the Baby Dodongos. Proceed further, and you will encounter a room with a Baby Dodongo's, Lizalfos, bricks on fire, and gravestones. Pull the gravestone where the bricks are on fine. Now take a bomb and heave it over the the flaming bricks to the crystal switch on the other site. It was trigger and the bricks will extinguish so you can cross over. You'll see a bunch of Armos. Throw bombs at them to defeat those. If you're good you can throw one to cause a chain reaction, and blow them all up and the bombs to open the way forward. Before you continue get the Gold Skulltula spider on the wall just above where the flaming bricks and the crystal switch is. There's a room here. If you go inside you'll find a Poe. Defeat the poe and pull the gravestone to get a Blue Rupee. Big deal.
Once you continue past the clear blocks and down the corridor you'll come to another gravestone, pull it to reveal the switch. Push the switch. The door will unlock to Dodongo's Cavern.
DODONGO - This is an easy fight. Just use a bomb when he opens his mouth, and throw it in. He will fall, and hit him with the Deku Stick again. To avoid his rolling attack, just position Link on the rim of the lava pit, same to avoid the fire, or just hide behind him to avoid the fire. Three Deku Sticks should do it, and you're done. Now wasn't that just easy.
You'll get the Goron Ruby from Darunia, and you will become sworn brothers.
DEATH MOUNTAIN TRAIL
Now you can blow up the rock on the trail before Dodongo's Cavern, but it would seem that you still need the boomerang to retrieve the Skultula Coin. You'll find another bombable wall near the Goron City. This contains a Purple Rupee worth 50. Once you blow up the boulders preventing you from ascending Death Mountain, you'll come to the top of those, and blow up one that reveals a hole. There's a cow and some rupees in there. Make sure you have the Hylian Shield, which you should have since you got it from the Graveyard earlier in the walkthrough. Once you make it past the falling boulders, there will be a climbable wall with spiders on it. Kill the spiders with your slingshot. Once you make it to the top blow up the destroyable entrance, to reveal the Great Fairy Fountain. Visit the Great Fairy of Power, (Still go go booted and slutty.) and she will give Link the Amazing Blade Beam Attack! .... .... .... Naw, sorry it's just the same old Spin Attack and the magic bar. You can take the Wise old Owl back down Death Mountain if you want. He will drop you off on the roof of a house in Kakariko. If you didn't use a Cucco to get the Heart Container Piece, then just drop down off the roof where you were left, and enter the hole where the cow is.
If you go back to the Goron City then you can blow up the rocks on the top level to get into a room filled with rocks. Just blow up the rocks until you make your way to the area with the chests the gossup stone and the crate. Break the crate to reveal a Gold Skultula Spider. The chests each contain a Purple Rupee worth 50 rupees.
It couldn't hurt at this point in the game to go fetch Din's Fire from the Great Fairy near Hyrule Castle. Just blow up the boulder that was just on the other side of the gate near Hyule Castle, and enter the small crawlspace to get to the Great Fairy Fountain. She will give you Din's Fire.
TRADING MASKS
It couldn't hurt to go get the Mask of Truth from the Happy Mask Shop. Take the Keaton Mask and go Sell it to the Soldier in front of the entrance to Death Mountain Trail. Get the Skull Mask, give it to the Stalkid in the Lost Woods. Get the Spooky Mask, and sell it to the Kid in the Graveyard. Get the Bunny Hood, and sell it to the Running Man in Hyrule field. He's usually out in the morning near the area of Gerudo and Lon Lon Ranch. Once you trade the Bunny Hood you'll get the opportunity to use the Mask of Truth.
LON LON RANCH
This is probably a good time to go to Lon Lon Ranch. If you walk up and speak to Malon she will teach you Epona's Song. Interesting, the owl can be seen in the cutscene where Link learns Epona's Song. Visit Talon and he will invite you to play the cucco hunt game. Find all the cuccos and he'll give you a bottle of Lon Lon Milk. Play the Sun's Song outside and it will become night time. Go around to the back of the Ranch where the wall on the corral is. There should be a Gold Skultula there that Young Link without the boomerang can get at this time. If you bash into the Tree near the Ranch House the Gold Skutula will fall out to the ground, and you can kill it. If you go to the very back of the Ranch area, you'll find a hole with Deku Scrub Salesman inside. They will want to sell you bombs, Deku Seeds, and Deku Nuts.
ZORA'S RIVER
Ahh, yes, we find the Wise Old Owl again. He has pretty much nothing all that amazing to say. You can buy the Magic Beans from the fat guy chowing down by the fense. You should remember what to do with this from playing Zelda 64 the last time. Just use them on the square planting spots you'll find around Hyrule. They increase in price every time you buy one. If you need help finding those, they should appear in the Strategy Guide for Ocarina of Time on The Odyssey Of Hyrule's Main Page. Also at the river you will find the Frogs. Take out the Ocarina and play the Zelda's Lulaby to get a Purple Rupee. If you play the Sun's Song you'll get another Purple Rupee. To get the Heart Container Piece on the column in the middle of the river take the cucco from the where the circle of stones is, and carry it all the way down the river until you get to the part where you'll have to throw the cucco, you'll have to throw and grab twice. Once you do this, you'll be able to drift down to the ledge, that you couldn't get to without the cucco. Now climb the ladder and use the cucco on the top of the elevated area, it's probably best to drift down to the Heart Container Piece from the ledge with the Gossup Stone on it. If you fall into the river and swim the whole way down back to the beginning of the area you will rack up a ton of rupees. Really, in this game Rupees are so plentiful it's a wonder why the Hyrulian inflation rate isn't into the millions of rupees. If you want the other Heart Container Piece close to Zora's Domain simply carry the cucco even further to the end and float over. You'll find a Gold Skultula on the small ladder close to the water near the entrance to Zora's Domain. To gain access to Zora's Domain simply play Zelda's Lulliby.
ZORA'S DOMAIN
Play the Zora's Diving Game and he will give you a Silver Scale when you collect all the rupees in the time allowed. You can use it to dive for a longer period of time. You can use the warp in Zora's Domain to go to Lake Hylia, it's under water. Take when you get to Lake Hylia dive down and get the bottle with the note in it. Take the note to King Zora, and he will let you pass into Zora's Fountain. King Zora will move out of the way. Before you go to Jabu Jabu you might want to go into the water at the bottom of Zora's Domain and catch a fish.
ZORA'S FOUNTAIN
Before you go into Jabu Jabu go to the area where the Gossup stones are and the tree. Bash into the tree and a Gold Skultula will fall.
INSIDE JABU JABU
You'll have to put a fish in front of Jabu Jabu for him to open up and suck you inside. Once inside you'll be in a room with two cows half stuck in the wall. There will be a Octorock, kill this with the slingshot. Shoot the cow on the left and the door will unseal. Shoot the one on the right and you'll get a Deku Nut in a chest. Blow up the boulder in the front and press on the big pimple and a Large Chest will appear containing the Map.
Once you pass through the membrane into the other room. You'll see those electric Jellyfish, and three wiggly rfleshy red block things, if you're careful you can walk around the wiggly blocks. If you fire at the cow half embedded into the wall being digested with the slingshot a chest will drop but it's in a crevice you can't get to yet. There is a platform that is raising and lowering in this area. If you fall all the way to bottom of this area there will be water blocking a membrane, and water with a half digested cow under the water. There's an enemy here, so best not jump in the water just yet. Fire the slingshot at the cow under the water, and a large chest will drop...somewhere. The chest is actually behind the cow, you'll have to swim underneath in the water, and emerge where the chest and the pimple are. Open the chest and you will get a compass. Squish the pimple and a membrane will become unlocked at the top of this area. RIde the spikey platform back to the top where the wiggly things were and go through the unlocked membrane.
The next room will have the Biri Jelly fish in it, I used the spin attack to defeat these. You'll find Ruto. She will tell you to get lost, and then fall down a sinkhole in the undulating room. In the corner of this room there will be a section of climbable wall. You can climb down. You'll see a room with Ruto on one ledge, and two pimples. The first pimple switch activates a stream of water. Use the stream of water to jump over to where Ruto is. Get her to let you carry her around. Do this, activate the water stream, and go put her on the blue pimple switch to open the blockage over the membrane on the other side. If you hit the half digested cow in this room, a chest will drop that contains bombchu.
Once you enter the next corridor you will be attacked by a Lizalfos. Confintue forward and you will be in a room with a blue block, a small chest, and a Like-LIke in the water. If you step on the pimple switch in the water, the water level will raise. You'll have to kill all the enemies in this room. To kill the Like Like I used two bombs. When you kill all the enemies, raise the water, climb the wall, go to the area where the water is flowing and open the large chest. When you open the chest you will get a boomerang.
Follow the corridor at the back of the room to the back and you will be back in the tall room with the water at the bottom and the fleshy wiggly things, take the spikey platform and ride it to the top again. The wiggly platforms will stop wiggling and turn blue if you use the boomerang, and the Biri Jellyfish will die quickly with the boomerang. Go back to the room that had all the sinkholes in it.
Use the bombchu you found in the other room to blow up the rocks blocking the half-cow and then fire the boomerang at it. The cover over the membrane will unseal. There will be a wiggly block in front of the exit to this area, use the boomerang on the wiggly block to harden it. And continue to the next area.
The next room will be corridors and forked three ways. Take the passage to the right and enter the only unlocked membrane. There will be two Like Likes in this room. Kill these two and a torch will light and a chest will appear. The chest will have a deku stick in it.
Light the deku stick and carry it outside of this room to the webbing blocking the corridor. Burn down the webbing, and continue forward.
The next area will feature a red slimy tenticle hanging from the ceiling, use the boomerang to kill this thing, and 4 hits should do it. To kill it simply circle around underneath with L targeting, and throw the boomerang when it's low enough.
Now exit and enter the forked corridors, go to the left and enter the farthest door to the left. Enter the room and there will be a green tenticle in there, kill it just like the red one and exit again, then enter the other room right next to this one.
In the next room will be three creatures called Tailpasaran. You really don't have to do much here, just kill it with the boomerang before it comes out of the tissue. It will die with one hit. Hit the pimple switch to make a stream of water appear, use the stream of water to get up high enough so that you can throw a bomb at the rock in the wall. Blow up the rock to kill the Gold Skutula spider in this room. Collect the token with the Boomerang.
Now go to the enter corridor, defeat the Lizilfos, blow up the boulders, go back to the corridor on the left pick up a crate, carry it to the pimple switch and leave the crate on it to continue into the next room where you'll find another tenticle.
Now go back into the room with the sinkholes and fall down to where Ruto was. You should notice that the way that was previously blocked to the left is now clear. Pick up Ruto use the water to get to that landing and take her into the room with the spiritual stone. She will take the Spiritual Stone and then the platform will raise and be replaced with a large Ocktorock. To defeat the Ocktorock simply allow it to hit you and turn around and hit it with a boomerang to expose its ass. Hit it with a deku stick in the ass, and you're done. Ride the platform to the top.
In the next room just shoot the cow with the slingshot and the membrane will unseal. Continue forward, use the boomerang to stun the large Biri and then go through the membrane. There will be a room with more wiggly platforms, a cow in the wall again, and a whole undigested cow at the bottom. Go to the whole cow and play Epona's song, it will want to give you milk, if you have an empty bottle you will get Milk from the cow. There are two crates here. You'll have to use the boomerange to freeze the wiggly blocks, and then carry the crate over to the switch on the other side and set it on pimple switch.
Continue into the next room. You'll be over the first three red slimy things from the beginning. Go to the platform you see and ride it down. Now enter the membrane in front of you and you should be in a room with Like Likes, kill the Like Likes. Shoot the cow head on the wall and it will raise up, shoot it again, and it will go hight, shoot it the third time and the door will unseal. The other cow will cause a chest to appear, the chest will contian a Deku Shield. Continue Forward.
DEFEATING BIO ELECTRIC BARANADE - Well, basically all you have to do is fire the boomerang at it. When the tenticles are connected to the ceiling you'll have to L target those, then target the body, and every time it turns blue, it it with either a Deku Stick or sword, you can kill the electrick jellyfish connected to it first if you want, L targeting is key through this whole thing, I used the spin attack a few times on the body when it was down. Really easy battle, you shouldn't die here.
Ruto gives Link the Zora Sapphire. Is it just me or was the dialogue different here on Zelda 64 Gold Cart? While you're idle notice the map, doesn't that look like a head?
GERUDO VALLEY
There's really not much to do in Gerudo Valley as Kid Link but at least you can get a Heart Container Piece at this point in the game. Just go to Gerudo, and grab the cucco. Float into the canyon with the Cucco, and there is a Heart Container Piece hidden behind the waterfall. Might as well plant the magic bean here as well. When you're done with that just fall in the water and head to Lake Hylia.
LAKE HYLIA
At Lake Hylia you can plant another Magic Bean at the Lakeside Laboritory and go fishing if you want. You can use the owl to leave. If you want you can visit that scarecrow in the garden by the lake called Bonooru and play a melody for it. You can play a tune for that Pierre character as well.
KAKARIKO
Before you head to Hyrule Castle why not stop at Kakariko and visit the House of Skutula and grab the Adult wallet, you have probably collected enough Gold Skultula Spiders by now.
Once you're done tying up any loose ends you want to finish or buying an item, head toward Hyrule Castle/Market, and you'll see the cutscene with Zelda escaping and Ganondorf. Ganondorf blasts Link with that magic. Get the Ocarina of Time from the river and Zelda will teach Link the Song of Time telepathically.
TEMPLE OF TIME/LIGHT
Go to the Temple of Time and play the Song of Time in front of the Alter. Just for added effect I dropped a fish on the alter, but that did nothing. Once you pull the Master Sword you will let Ganon into the Sacred Realm where he only gets to the Triforce of Power, and you meet with Rauru the Sage of Light. It is revealed that Link is teenage form instead of kiddo form. This is where Link learns about how he was sealed up for 7 years until he was big enough to accept his destiny as the Hero of Time, and meanwhile Ganondorf somehow managed to teleport himself to the Temple of Light and steal "The Triforce" as Rauru indicates, and that to break the curse on Hyrule Link must find all the sages and together they can send Ganon into the void. He will give you the Light Medalion. There's that "Rauru sage adds his power to yours" the same stuff that made us think that Link could equip the Medallions and gain extra magic spells, it's too bad you can't do this in Master Quest.
S E V E N - Y E A R S - P A S S
Once Link Returns to the Temple of Time he will meet up with Sheik. "When evil rules all, an awakening voice from the Sacred Realm will call those destined to be Sages, who dwell in the five temples. One in the deep forest...One on a high mountain...One under a vast lake...One within the house of the dead...One inside a doddess of the sand... Together with the Hero of Time, the awakened ones will bind the evil and return the light of peace to the world...This is the legend of the temples passed down by my people, the Sheikah. I am Sheik, Survivor of the Sheikahs... As I see you standing there holding the mythical Master Sword, you really do look like the legendary Hero of Time...If you believe the legend you have no choice. You must look for the five temples and awaken the five Sages.... One Sage is waiting for the time of awakening in the Forest Temple. The Sage is a girl I am sure you know... Because of the evil power in the temple, she cannot hear the awakening call form the Sacred Realm. Unfortunately, equipped as you currently are, you cannot even enter the Temple... But if you believe what I'm saying, you should head to Kakariko Village...
KAKARIKO
Go to Kakariko from the Temple of Time. The cucco girl will give you a pocket cucco egg. Go into the windmill and talk to the Music Man, and he will say that a kid came in seven years ago and played the Song of Storms for him and it made the windmill act strange. Now this is an interesting scenario, Link in your game time didn't play the song for the Music Man yet, however in your future he will, but your future is his past, essentially it's a temporal instance of effect coming before cause due to Link's ability to Time Travel. But what would happen theoreticallly if Link were not to ever bump into the music man in the future and learn the melody, would the Music Man still learn the melody from young Link in his past because that was written into the domain of his perception of space-time?
