THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: A LINK TO THE PAST POWER WALKTHROUGH
© 2005 Video Gamer X Publications
Before Darkworld get. 8 pieces of heart. Ice Rod, Cape, Magic Powder, Upgraded Bombs,
Link's House - After your uncle leaves, you'll want to just grab the Lamp in the chest in the room. It's funny because Link is sleeping in the only bed in the house so where does his uncle sleep? ...that's creepy.
Heart Container Piece - Lost Woods, Theives Hide Out. Simply cut down the square of bushes behind the entrance to the hideout to reveal a hole. Fall down the hole and you will arrive in a room with a Heart Container Piece.
Heart Container Piece - Next to the Sanctuary. Once Link has the Dash Boots, simply run into the pile of rocks in this location, and it will open an entrance to an underground cave. Inside a chest Link will find a Heart Container Piece.
Once Link has the Power Glove and the Dash Boots, if he enters the graveyard, there is a gravestone in the upper west corner that is blocked by lighter colored stones. Pick those up and then push the grave and link will fall in. He will find himself in the passageway between Hyrule Castle and the sactuary. At this time Link can bash into the cracked wall to open a door to the adjacent passage way. Inside this room there are three chests, one contains 300 Rupies.
Once you have the Power Glove return to the area where you got the Magic Powder from the Witch. Now you can lift the large rock and enter Zora's Domain. Simply walk around and follow the shallow water and make your way to Zora. Once you reach him he will ask you what you want. Once you select "I want the Flippers." he will charge you 500 Rupies for them. By now you ought to have enough if not 999. Pay for the Flippers.
Heart Container Piece - Now head directly south from Zora and you'll fall off one waterfall. Then go to the left and you'll see a grassy area, there is a heart container piece in a small grove sitting there.
Once you get the Heart Container Piece simply swim to the right and fall off the waterfall at the bottom and you'll be back to the area of the pathway close to where you entered Zora's Domain. Keep walking back and then before you leave, you'll see a waterfall. Swim (now that you have the flippers) into the water and enter the waterfall. In the waterfall you'll find a pool of water. It will ask you to throw an item into the pool. Throw the boomerang and your shield into the pool (you'll have to come out and go back in again). The Fairy will turn Link's boomerang into a Magic Boomerang and his sheild into a Red Shield with the capability to block fireballs.
Once you upgrade your weapons, go directly south of here and you'll see a whirlpool. Enter it and you'll be teleported to the middle of Lake Hylia. Go north to the small island here. Inside you'll find another pool/fountain. Keep throwing rupies into the pool until a Fairy appears, she will grant you the ability to upgrade your bombs or your arrows. Since you don't have very many bombs it is recommended that you do this right here before you enter the Dark World. If you followed the walkthrough up to this point you should probably have 499 Rupies available. You'll have the opportunity to upgrade your bombs 4 times, and if you walk outside the entrance to the fountain I'm sure you can slash a bush and get 1 rupy to give you the fifth upgrade.
3rd Bottle - Once you are done upgrading bombs and arrows. Leave the island and swim to the northeast until you arrive at a small waterway or stream, swim through this until you swim all the way around and then you're under the bridge that leads to Lake Hylia. Underneath you'll find a camping bum or vagrant. He will say that you're in a lot of trouble and he'll give you the 3rd Bottle.
Now that you have the Power Glove, you can enter Death Mountain. Simply return to the area near the Sanctuary. Go west and then north past the five trees and you'll see a large light colored stone. Link can now lift that stone that is blocking passage on the ledge. He will enter the cave and find an old spelunker inside who lost his lamp. The boomerang is fairly effective against the bats in the cave. Find your way out of the cave and he will give you the Magic Mirror that allows you to teleport to the Light World once you are in the Dark World.
Once you're on Death Mountain, there will be falling boulders, just avoid these. I dont' know what they're called but there are these critters that look almost like squirrels and when you hit them with the sword they turn to stone and may block your way. The best strategy for these I've found is to use the Magic Powder and turn them into helpless Bots (Those things from Zelda II) and one hit with Link's sword will do it.
Right below Spectacle Rock there is a place where Link can jump down and land on a ledge below. If you jump down and enter the cave entrance you will be in a passage way that leads to a pool with 3 fairies. But its more efficient if you go to the ledge next to this one and collect the Heart Container Piece first.
Heart Container Piece - There is a second ledge next to the last one. Simply fall down just above it and enter the cave. This is a passage that leads to a Heart Container Piece. You'll can fall down to the platform below and collect some fairies for your bottles if you choose to.
Once you collect the Heart Container Piece and return to where you were proceed to the Teleport Tile. Stand on the tile and Link will be teleported to the Dark World. He will be turned into a pink bunny! In your bunny form you can not do anything. If you want, you can drop down to the lowest level and you'll find a Fairy that will restore your energy. Don't bother with the ledge below the Teleport Tile, you don't have the item needed to go in there yet.
If you notice the ground just to the east of the Teleport Tile it's in the same shape as Spectacle Rock in the light world. Stand in that general area, and use the Magic Mirror to teleport to the Light World, and you'll be standing on Spectacle Rock. There is a Heart Container Piece just sitting there. Grab it.
Heart Container Piece - See Above.
Fall off the back of Spectacle Rock. You don't have the Master Sword yet so you can't get the Ether Medallion from the monument to the west of the Tower of Hera. Just enter the Tower of Hera.
THE TOWER OF HERA
The first room you'll be in is a room with 3 Crystal Switches and blue and orange colored barrier blocks. The Crystal Switches change which blocks are up. First his the Crystal Switch, then go to the entrance just to the left. Don't enter yet. Turn around and hit the switch directly behind link with an item like the boomerang. Now enter and inside you'll find a Small Key, and some enemies. Hit the switch before you leave.
Now go up and you'll find the Map in a chest. Now use the Small Key on the door in the upper left hand corner of the room. In this room you'll be assaulted by the tiles on the floor. Once they all are broken the door will open. Hit the switch to put the down the blue pegs.
In the next room there are some enemies and another switch. Hit the switch and kill the enemies.
In the next room there are four switches and some enemies. Light the switches with your Lamp to make a chest appear. Inside you'll find a big Key. Remember to use your boomerang to hit the switch if its too far away. As you are returning, make sure to hit the Crystal Switch in the room with the floor tiles that attack you and make the blue pegs rise. Return to the Second Floor.
Now go in the doorway in the bottom right. Kill all the enemies in here, or push them into the holes.
In the next room simply do the same thing and step on the star switch to move the holes.
In the next room you'll see basically the same thing, holes and star switches. This area is pretty self explanitory. Just press a star switch if you progress is blocked by a hole.
Once you go into the fourth floor, you'll be in a very large room. Don't change the position of the hole underneath the Big Chest. Ignore it and proceed further to the fifth Floor.
On the fifth floor if you fall into the hole at the very top of the area that is surrounded by a small barrier on 3 sides, you will fall like 5 stories though these pot things down to a room with a pool and 2 fairies. Step in the teleport tile and you'll be returned to the room you were just in. Now make sure you hit the star switch in this room. You'll see a hole appear in the middle of the room. Fall into the TOP part of the hole, and you'll land on the ledge by the Big Chest. You'll obtain the Moon Pearl. Return to the 5th floor.
Proceed to the 6th Floor. You'll see a yellow worm looking creature called a Muldorm. Jump down onto his playpen and begin. You'll have to hit the Muldorm in the tail a few times. If you fall off the edge you'll fall into the room below. You'll have to climb back and fight him again. The best place I've found to stand is with Link's back against that small wall. You might take some damage but you probably won't get knocked off. It takes 6 sword hits to kill it off. When you defeat it, you'll receive a Heart Container and a Pendant of Wisdom.
You can now obtain the Master Sword. You'll have to return to the lost woods and go find it in it's grove in the Northwest corner. I don't recommend that you do this, but if you go back to see Sahasrahla he says, "Incredible! At last you have the three Pendants... Now, you should go to the Lost Woods. If you are a true hero the sword itself will select you. ... ... ..."
Once you get to the lost woods make your way to the Master Sword Pedistal. The incription in the front reads, "The hero's Triumph on Cataclysm's Eve wins three symbols of virtue, The Master Sword will then retrieve, Keeping the Knight's line True. Link then pulls the Master Sword from the pedistal. Sahasrahla contacts you telepathically, "... ... ... Link it is extraordinary that you won the Master Sword that makes evil retreat...With this shining sword, I believe you can deflect the wizard's evil powers. The destiny of this land is in your hands. Please Link...
Once Link exits the grove he is connected by Princess Zelda telepathically. She is being recaptured in the sanctuary. "Link Help! The soldiers are coming to Sanctuary! (Somehow that wording sounds like that movie Logan's Run when they forget to use the word "the" in there.) AIEEEEEEEI ... ... ..." You'll notice that the fog is gone from the Lost Woods and the music has returned to the standard Hyrule Overwold Theme.
If you decide to check out the sanctuary, the priest will be laying prostrate and he will implore you to save Zelda, "Link! You are a second too late. I have failed... Zelda... The soldiers have abducted her. They have taken her to the castle. You must find her before the wizard works his magic. Please... You are our only hope..." Then he does the Obi Wan Kenobi thing and vanishes into thin air! I knew it! He was a Jedi after all!
HYRULE CASTLE
Return to Hyrule Castle, unless you feel like upgrading bombs at Lake Hylia again, have at it, otherwise there isn't much left right now you can do in the Light World. You won't have to sneak in the castle like last time, just walk in the front gate. They've been expecting you. Enter the castle and make your way outside onto the second level. There will be a sort of forcefield thing blocking the door to the castle tower. Hit this with the Master Sword and it will vanish.
Move forward and in the next room you'll find 2 ball and chain soldiers. Kill these guys. Having a fully powered Master Sword is helpful at hitting them from long distance. The boomerang also stuns these guys for a second or two. Kill them and enter the next room when the door opens. Now there will be two enemies who run at you with swords. Kill these soldiers and a chest will appear that contains a small key. Open the chest and open the locked door in the room.
Once you make it to the 3rd Floor, you'll be in a dark room. Kill the two enemies and proceed to the left. The next room will be a mazelike place with eyebats and soldiers. Kill the bats with the boomerang and the soldiers with the sword or arrows. You'll have to find the key in here. If you don't want the challenge just light the torches. Proceed to the next room and kill the two soldiers attacking you. Proceed to the 4th Floor.
After killing the Soldier and the Bowman, proceed left. The next room contains a series of walkways over pits. There are soldiers here so be careful not to fall in. You can light the switch if you think that will be easier. Proceed to the next room. There are two Bowman and a soldier in here. One of them will give you a small Key. Open the locked door and proceed to the 5th Floor.
Kill the two eyebats and the two Red Mailed Soldiers with the tridents and proceed to the next room. Same thing as the last room, kill these guys and the door will open. Best combo is the boomerang and then hit them with the sword while stunned. Once killed proceed to the next room. Kill the Red Mailed soldier and the Eyebat and collect the small key from the left pot next to the Red Mailed Soldier at the center of the Room. Unlock this door and proceed. Kill the three soldiers or just walk up the stairway, it's up to you and proceed to the 6th Floor.
Move the statue out of your way and boomerang the three soldiers and vanquish them with your Master Sword then proceed to the next room. Here will be a narrow walkway over a pit and two soldiers. Boomerang and swing, they'll die, you won't. Proceed to the 7th Floor. (Heh more symbolic referance of the theological number 7)
On the Seventh Floor you will find Agahnim and Princess Zelda. "Ahah... Link! I have been waiting for you! Heh heh heh... I was hoping I could make Zelda vanish in front of your eyes. Behold! The last moment of Princess Zelda!" He levetates her body and teleports her to another dimension, The Dark World. "Ho ho ho... (Merry Christmas Agahnim) With this, the seal of the seven wise men is at last broken. It is only a matter of time before evil power covers this land... After all, the legendary Hero cannot defeat us, the tribe of evil, when we are armed with the Power of Gold. Ho ho ho... Now I must go!" (Man, that's pretty cheezy, and the rhiming at the end takes the cake. Is that the best they could think of Ho Ho Ho Now I must go!) After this Agahnim teleports himself behind the curtain. Swipe the curtain and proceed to his "evil lair."
Sigh, this turd is getting on my nerves but, he decides to talk some more. "Oh, so?... You mean to say you would like to be totally destroyed? (Of course) Well, I can make your wish come true!" (Uh huh. -_- )
This battle is rediculously easy. Just reflect the orbs of magic back at Agahnim. A spin attack works fine, or you can swipe the sword, it doesn't take much. If he goes to the top of the room and doesn't turn to face Link then it means he's going to cast a lighting bolt. That's simple to avoid, just stand next to him while he does this. After 6 hits he's done and says, "Grrrrrugh! Well Met! Like the true hero that you are... But I am not ready to admit defeat yet. I will draw you into the Dark World!" (Oh NOES! Not the DARK WORLD!)
Just then Link will be teleported, you guessed it, to the Dark World, where he will be standing atop the Pyramid of Power at the center of the map where Hyrule Castle was in the Light World. Sahasrahla will communicate with you telepathically from the Light World and he says, "Link, it is I, Sahasrahla. I am communicating to you across the void through telepathy... The place where you stand now was the Golden Land, but evil power turned it into the Dark World. The wizard has broken the wise men's seal and opened a gate to link the worlds at Hyrule Castle. In order to save this half of the world, the Light World, you must win back the Golden Power. You must also rescue the seven maidens who Agahnim sent to the Dark World. As members of the blood line of the seven wise men, they have power that will surely help you. The maidens are locked in hidden dungeons full of evil creatures and dangerous traps. The Palace of Darkness should be your first goal in this world! Link, I can rely on only you. Please make this old man's wishes come true. I beg you!" Here the Dark World Overworld Theme plays, which I consider one of the better songs in this game.
THE DARK WORLD
Heart Container Piece - you'll find a heard container piece right on the pyramid in plain view. Simply drop down to the ledge below and walk around the side and you'll find it at the rear right side.
Once you walk down the steps of the pyramid you'll see some enemies like a cyclops and a moblin throwing a trident. At the base of the pyramid the third statue to the left from the main walkway to the pyramid contains 20 rupies if you pull on it for 2 seconds. If you bash the tree to the left of the walkway at the base of the pyramid a fairy will pop out.
If you make your way over to the area where Zora's Domain began, you'll eventually encounter a circle of stones. Throw a rock in the circle of stones and the creature will give you a Quake Medallion to leave him alone. Not a bad deal.
Heart Container Piece - If you travel due south from the guy that gave you the Bombos Medallion, and return to Lake Hylia, you'll see a circle of stones with shallow water in the middle. Stand in the shallow water and use the Magic Mirror to return to the Light World. You'll be on an island in the middle of Lake Hylia, and you'll find a fairy in a bush and a Heart Container Piece.
If you're ever stupid enough to fall off the island (like I just did) in the Light World and you can't get back to the Dark World via the portal from the Magic Mirror simply always return to the entrance to Hyrule Castle and you'll automatically warp back.
From here you'll want to proceed to the Palace of Darkness. Near the entrance to this area you'll find a Large Fairy Fountain. She will replenish your health. As you're approaching the Palace of Darkness, you'll see all these Yoda heads embossed into the stone. Follow the Arrows toward the Palace, you'll have to pass through an overgrown hedgemaze. It is not at all hard, and you just make you're way through this and when you pop out a monkey will be behind you. He will say, "I'm KiKi the monkey ki ki! I love rupees more than anything. Can you spare me 10 rupies. " Give him 10 rupees and he will follow. Once you get to the entrance of the palace he will ask for 100 more rupees to open the door foor you. Just pay the rupees because you can't open it yourself. He will hit a switch and a stairwell will reveal a door.
PALACE OF DARKNESS
If you take the path to the right, and continue past the Helmasaur, you'll enter a room with an active Teleport Tile, and two deactivated ones. Step on the active one and you'll teleport to a room that has blocks in the shape of a cross. AT the bottom of this room is a blocked doorway. Simply bash into that, and you'll enter another corridor. Kill the blobs in this room, and proceed to the next blocked wall. Bash into or blow that one up, and continue further.
In the next room you'll see 3 elephant looking creatures, 2 green ones and a red one. These enemies basically move in the opposite direction you do. To kill them, use the bow and arrows. Fire in the general direction of the creature then walk in the direction that causes it to walk into the path of the flying arrows. Once they are all defeated the door will open itself and you can proceed further.
The next room will contain a conveyor and some bouncing spiked blocks. Once you move past these you'll enter a doorway. Beyond the doorway is a ledge area with a chest in the middle. This is the chest containing the Dungeon Map. Now backtrack all the way to the room that you first started the Dungeon in.
This time choose the path to the left, kill the helmasaur, and you'll go downstairs into a room with those faces that shoot fireballs at you. Underneath one of the skulls is a switch. Hit it and it will make a chest appear. There is a key inside. Now backtrack to where you started again and take the middle path and unlock the door.
You'll again be in a large room where there are two pathways. If you take the one on the right, to proceed you'll have to push the block off the walkway to the room below. This path will lead to a chest. Inside you'll find another small Key. You'll see an arrow, when you press up on top of the arrow Link will jump across the chasm. Go up the ladder and turn left. Unlock this door.
You'll now be in a room with a walkway over a chasm. The walkway begins to break apart, so you'll have to be quick about getting across it. Once you make it across you'll see an area with a locked door and an open door. Take the open door on the right. This leads to a room with 4 Turtles and a chest. Open the chest and you'll find the Compass.
Take the door on the right at the top of the room, and you'll be in a small corridor with rupees and bouncing wall skull thing. Use the magic powder to turn it into a fairy. Collect all the rupees and open the chest at the bottom of the room. There will be a small key inside. Keep going around the other side to collect the rest of the blue rupees in this room. There is only 1 arrow in the chest on the other side. Take notice of the chest in the middle surrounded by a barrier. Now return to the 1st Floor.
Leave the room with the turtles and proceed to the corridor with the falling walkway. Open the locked door here. The next room will be a kind of maze, but its not hard to figure out. At the bottom of this room you'll find a chest that contains a Small Key. Just above the chest containing the Small Key, is a place to bomb the wall, but you don't need to do this yet since you don't have the Big Key. Return to the room with the falling walkway. You'll have to be quick about this and run down the walkway before the tiles begin to fall into the chasm below. Proceed to the next area.
Now you'll be in the area with the arrows and the bumper in the middle of the room. Jump down to the area by the bumper. Go past it and return to the area where you had two paths to choose. Move the block to clear your way, you should now exit this room and be in the room with the long paths and a couple of mouths that shoot fireballs. You'll see a cracked floor in the middle of the walkway. Drop a bomb here and blow a hole in it. Then fall down the hole. You'll drop down and land on a ledge. Don't fall down to the landing below, rather walk to where the locked door is and unlock it. Proceed further and you'll find the area with the Big Key! Now return to the previous room and drop down to where those turtles and skull heads are. Pick up the skull and reveal a switch. Hit it and a chest will appear. Open the chest and there will be a key inside. Then step on the teleporter.
Stepping on the teleport tile will bring you almost to the beginning of the dungeon again. Exit the room there and return to the middle door, and back into the area where there are two narrow walkways over the chasm. Choose the path on the right, and go back into the room with the bumper in the middle. If the blue pegs are down, you'll have to raise those first so that the orange pegs are down. Hit the switch in this room to do that and walk all the way back around to cross and get to the upper walkway. Once you get to the upper walkway enter the corridor where the narrow walkway had the falling tiles.
Make your way back into the dark Maze room. Now that you have the big key you can Bomb that wall down near the bottom of the room. Bomb the wall and open the chest, you'll find the Magic Hammer. Return all the way back to the room with the bumper in the center. Jump down to where the Bumper is. There is a Crystal Switch just down from the bumper. Hit that switch with the boomerang or your Master Sword's blade beam attack. This will make the blue pegs go down, nearby and you can gain access to the open door. Once the pegs are down enter the only accessable door to the right.
Now you'll be in an area with four statues and a sealed door. Lift up the skulls to the right of the door until you reveal the switch. The switch doesn't stay open so you'll have to put something on it. Find the statue directly blow that spot and drag that statue onto the switch.
The next room should seem familiar. Elephant dudes. Kill them the same way you did when you first saw them with a long range weapon. Once they are done the door will open. Proceed into the next room. Here you will see one of those spiked blocks bouncing back and forth, and a Crystal Switch. Hit the crystal switch to lower the orange pegs. Go past the orange pegs and you'll see a green cyclops statue. Shoot the statue with your bow and arrows. The wall will grow out to the right and reveal a stairway into the ground. Proceed to B1.
You'll now be in a dark room with Mole Heads and turtles. Whack the mole heads like Chuck E' Cheezes and then pound the ground by a turtle and pound it while it's upside down to kill it. There are two rows of pegs one orange, one blue. Stand inbetween them and fire the boomerange at the Crystal Switch across the room to lower the blue pegs and raise the orange ones. Unlock the door and proceed into the next room.
Take out the hammer and smash the turtle in this small corridor and proceed. You'll then enter a room full of turtles. Kill these and proceed to the next room. You'll be in a room with 2 torches and a teleport tile in the center of blocks. Move the block on the upper right hand side to gain access to the teleporter. Step on the Teleport Tile. You'll teleport to the center of the room where all those free blue rupies were and a door with a Big Keyhole. Open the door and proceed. The next room you'll see the Helmasaur King.
HELMASAUR KING - You can either use bombs or the hammer to crack the hard shell. Once the shell is cracked simply hit it 5 times with the Master Sword and the Helmasaur King is history. Be sure to have a fairy in a bottle in case you get hit too many times. Once defeated you'll get a Heart Container and the first Maiden inside of a Crystal.
"Link because of you, I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. Thank you! ...This world used to be the golden land where the Trifrorce was hidden. But because of Ganon, the boss of thieves, wished it the world was transformed... I'm sure he's intending to conquer even the Light World after building his power here. He is trying to open a larger gate between worlds near the castle using our popers. But that gate is not open completely yet... If we seven maidens come together we can break the barrier around Ganon's Hiding place. I will tell you where the other girls are held. I believe you will destroy Ganon. I will return to my original form at that time. ... ... ... ... ... Do you understand? May the way of the Hero Lead to the Triforce."
SPECIAL VGX ACCELLERATED DARK WORLD COMPLETION
Once she is done talking you'll return to the entrance of the Palace of Darkness. Now here's something that I've not seen in other strategy guides including official ones from Nintendo and such. Now that you have the Magic Hammer you can essentially skip the 2nd and 3rd Dungeons and get your Master Sword tempered and do a whole pile of other stuff, and I'm going to tell you exactly how to do this. I was doing this trick back in 1992 when I first got the game and I never saw this printed in any of the Gaming Literature of the day, it's basically an old school VGX patented trick, or at least very few people know to do this.
Okay, here's what to do. Since you're outside the Palace of Darkness, make your way back out of the grounds. Return to the path way where all those purple pegs are. In the Light World this is normally where the bridge to Lake Hylia is. Normally the game would have you pound down these pegs and proceed to the second dungeon but here's what VGX wants you to do. First, return to the Light World via the the Magic Mirror. Now make your way back to Kakariko choosing either the north or south paths, it's up to you. I chose the north path because it seems a little quicker.
Once you make it to Kakariko. Go all the way to the northwestern corner and go up the path into the Lost Woods. By the way if you bash the tree here apples come out. I don't think I mentioned that before. Okay once you're in the Lost woods don't go forward rather proceed directly to Link's right and then exit the Lost Woods again and you'll be on a second path. Use the hammer to pound down the pegs. Lift the rock and reveal a Dark World teleporter.
Okay, now you'll teleport to the Dark World. You now have access to the "Village of the Outcasts" a Dark World version of Kakariko. There is a house here with an aardvark in it with a chest game with a lot of chests. The chest game contains a heart container piece.
Heart Container Piece - Simply play the aardvark's chest game in the Village of the Outcasts until you win the Heart Container Piece.
Rupees Galore. There is also a house near the bottom of the town with a cracked wall. If you bomb this there will be a chest inside with 300 Rupees. Don't take the rupees if you don't need them, it's pointless to do so. As well there is another house with 300 rupees in it toward the east of town. Beneath here is a store that sells Red Medicine's of Life, a lousy blue shield and some bombs. Below the store is a talking Tree (there are several of these in the Dark World) It says, "Wow! I haven't seen a normal person in a few hundred years! Let me talk to you for awhile. Do you know about that gargolyle statue in the village? People say they can hear a girl calling for help from under that strange statue, it's a strange story..." Well seeing as I already know there is a dungeon under neath there, that's where were headed next. Head to the center of town where the Weathercock was in Kakariko and pull on the Gargoyle's Trident. This opens the way to Blind's Dungeon.
The first large room you're in is two leveled. On top there are walkways, below there are passages and small rooms. Pretty much in plain sight in this room is the Dungeon Map inside a chest. There's really isn't much of anything else in here at the moment so proceed to the room to the north.
In this second large room there is a chest with a red rupee in it on the upper level.
If you proceed to the left via the lower level you'll enter the 3rd large two leveled room. There's nothing in here you need to do yet. Proceed south into the 4th large multi leveled room. In here you'll find a chest that contains the Compass. If you remember when you were in the 1st Multi leveled room there was this area that you couldn't jump down into with a chest. From this room head directly west and you'll enter that spot and when you open the chest there is a Big Key inside. Return to the 4th Multi Leveled room. Now return to the 3rd Large Multi Leveled Room.
At the northernmost wall of the 3rd Multi Leveled Room on the top level there is a door with a Big Keyhole in it. Open this door. You'll enter a corridor with some Skull heads. Kill these guys and you'll find a key in a pot near the northermost part of this room/corridor. Use this key to unlock the locked door just below. The next room has some horseheads. Kill those and proceed to the next room. The next room contains a bunch of slimes and a Skull Fairy (I think that's what those skulls with the flames circling them are called), use the powder on the Skull Fairy to turn it into a regular fairy to refill your energy, and kill the slimes. Proceed to the room to the left.
You'll find a conveyor and some enemies. Make your way straight up and enter another room with a Crystal Switch and some spiked blocks. Kill the jellies that pop out of the ground first. Lift the skull and you'll find a key. Use it to unlock the door. Hit the Crystal Switch before you leave. Go Upstairs.
Here you'll find some enemies and a pull switch. If you pull on it all it will do is drop snakes. Pick up the skulls at the bottom of the room and you'll uncover a switch to open the door. Proceed down the horizontal corridor and kill the green roaches. You'll enter a room with light shining on a cracked floor. Throw a bomb onto the center of the cracked floor.
Return to the room with the Crystal Switch. Leave it blue and return to the conveyor room. Go into the doorway directly to the right of screen. There will be Red Horseheads and a slime. Kill them and proceed further. The Blue Pegs should be down. The next room is a bunch of conveyors that lead to a pit in the center. There is a stairway that leads to B2.
After you go down the stairway there will be a room with a large block, some horseheads, and a skull head. Kill these, and lift the big block. Go down and you'll be in another room with two exits. Take the open door to the right and enter the jail. Unlock all the jail locks until you find the little girl. She will ask you to take her outside. There is a chest with a key in it next to her, open it.
Proceed out of the jail and continue directly west. You'll be in a room with a conveyor. Go directly west again and unlock the locked door. Inside you will find a big chest. Bang down the mole heads with the Magic Hammer and open the chest. Inside you'll find the Titan's Mitt. Return upstairs to the room with all the conveyors and the hole in the middle again.
(NOTE: Technically if you want to you don't have to defeat Blind yet, but for the sake of this walkthrough, let's just go ahead and do that.)
Once upstairs find the switch in this conveyory room and open the sealed door. Proceed into the corridor, now enter the door directly at the top of the screen here. Drag the girl into the light, and she will turn into Blind. "Gyaah! Too bright!"
Blind the Theif - He's pretty easy. He shoots a laser beam from his head. Hit his head 3 times and he grows a new head while the other one flys around the room shooting fireballs at you. This is pretty easy. Once you finish off his 3rd regrown head, he will die, and you'll get a Heart Container and the 4th Crystal.
The Maiden in the crystal says, "Link, because of you I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. Thank you! As the wise men sealed the way to the Dark World, the Knights of Hyrule Defended them from the attacks of evil monsters. I heard that the Knights of Hyrule were nearly wiped out in that battle... You are perhaps the last one to carry the bloodline of the Knights...It is ironic that the last one in the line has the potential to become the Hero of legend. Surely you can destroy Ganon! Do you understand? May the way of the hero lead to the Triforce!"
Now that you have the Titan's Mitt you can lift all the rocks in Hyrule, the ligher colored and the darker colored ones.
Go directly south of Kakariko. Just outside of southern Kakariko go directly to the right and you'll see a frog surrounded by heavy dark skull stones. Pick them up and the frog will tell you that his partner lives in Kakariko. Take him to the area where the Blacksmith shop is in the Light World. Use the magic mirror to take him to the Light World. Bring him inside the blacksmith house and he will join his buddy. Exit the blacksmith's house and enter again, and they will ask you if you want your sword Tempered. Choose yes and you will then have no sword.
Go outside and you'll see a peg just outside of the Blacksmith's house. Pound it down with the Magic Hammer. Jump off the small ledge into the pit below. Go directly up once you land and you'll be in a room with a chalice. Sprinkle magic powder on it and a bat will emerge. He will say, "Hey! Blast you for waking me from my deep, dark sleep! ...I mean, thanks a lot, sir! But now I will get my revenge on you. Get ready for it! ...Err, is that okay with you, sir?" He will then zap you and you'll see a 1/2 above your magic meter. "Heh heh heh! I laugh at your misfortune! Now your magic power will drop by one half! Congratulations! Now do your best, even though I'm sure it won't be good enough! Have a nice day! See you!" (I think he's got BiPolar Disorder) Basically all this did was double your magic capacity.
Heart Container Piece - Go into the Dark World via the portal from the Magic Mirror. Pound down all the lavender Pegs and a passage will appear where stump was.
Return to the Light World. Go into the Blacksmith show, and your sword should be tempered and turned and orange color. Return to the Dark World via the portal. Go to the spot where the Blacksmith shop is in the Light World and you'll see a purple chest. You can't open it. Take it with you. Leave Kakariko and head south. You can now lift the heavy rock blocking your path. Head south, around the trees, and turn north into the grove where the Ghost playing a flute for the animals was in the Light World. You'll find an aardvark. He says, "After wandering into this world I turned into this shape. ... ... ... I enjoyed playing the flute in the original world... ... ... ... There was a small grove where many animals gathered. I want to see that place again... I buried my flute there with some flower seeds. Will you try to find it for me?" He gives you the shovel. Now warp to the Light World via the Magic Mirror. In the Light World just walk up toward the small patch of flowers in the upper left hand corner and dig. You'll find the flute (ocarina). Return to the Dark World via the portal. If you talk to him he'll say, "Thank you Link. But it looks like I can't play my flute any more. Please Take it. If by chance you go to the village I lived in, please give it to a tired old man you will find there ... ... ... Well, my mind is getting hazy... Please let me hear the sound of the flute one last time..." If you play the flute he will turn into a tree. (I swear this guy used to be a Kokiri or is some kind of decendant of one, considering A Link to the Past takes place a long time after Ocarina of Time)
If you did it right and didn't leave it behind you should still have that chest following you. Leave the grove and head southeast until you encounter a large rock. Lift it and continue heading south. Now go east as if you were heading toward the Desert Palace in the light world. Once you get in the area where all the rocks and skulls are, warp back to the Light World, you should be in front of the guy with the sign. He'll say, "I heard that you know I used to be a theif right? Well, I'll open a chest for you. Will you keep it secret from everyone else?" he will open the chest for you and you'll get the 4th Bottle.
Warp back to the Dark World. Head directly west again and you'll see lavender pegs. Stand inside the lavender pegs and warp to the Light World. Once in the light world head directly west and you'll see a monolith. Read it with the Book of Mudora and you'll get the Bombos Medallion. Use the Portal to go back to the Dark World.
Return to the area infront of the aardvark boy that turned into a tree, and go directly south of that grove. You'll see a circle of bushes. Now warp to the Light World from that circle of Bushes.
Heart Container Piece - Enter the Cave Here and you'll find a Heart Container Piece. When you exit the cave return to the Dark World via the portal.
Head directly west past the Arrow game place. You'll en counter the Treasure digging field.
Heart Container Piece - If you play the man's digging game sooner or later you'll dig up a a Heart Container Piece. It is annoying when you don't find the Heart Container Piece just keep at it and eventually it will come up.
Once you're done here or bored of this leave the area and head toward the Village of Outcasts and go to the Gargoyle where Blind's Dungeon was. Warp to the Light World via the Mirror. In front of the weathercock play the Flute. It will burst and this bird will appear. If you play the flute the Bird will pick up Link and allow him to be dropped off at 1 of 8 locations on the overworld map. Warp back to the Dark World. Head north and Leave Kakariko.
Just outside the fortune teller's place, you'll see a pile of stones. Bash these to reveal a couple fairies. Head northwest to the area where the Entrance cave to Death Mountain would be in the Light World. Continue north past here, but make note of it for future referance. You'll eventually be able to get the Heart Container Piece just not yet. If you keep going north you'll encounter a shop. The guy inside sells a Medicine of Life for 150 Rupees, a Blue Shield for 50 Rupees, and 10 Bombs for 50 Rupees.
Near that guy's store go ahead and warp to the Light World. You'll notice that that tree that was being sawed on before is now accessable. Bash into it and the leaves will come off revealing a passage. You'll find a pool with four faries in it and in the Adjacent room you'll find a Heart Container Piece.
Heart Container Piece - See Above.
Now leave and return to the Dark World via your portal. If you check the area by where the Sanctuary is in the Light World you'll find an octopuss guy inside of a cave. He tells you about the fairy in the Great Pyramid and he restores all your energy for 20 Rupees.
Heart Container Piece - Continue East toward the Graveyard area. Athe back you ought to see a small ladder and a ledge. Climb the ladder and get on the ledge. Warp to the Light World. Enter the cave in the Light World, blow up the wall and in the small grotto beyond you'll find a Heart Container Piece.
Warp Back to the Dark World. Get down the Ladder and and stand in that area, warp back to the Light World. Directly right of you lift the heavy stones blocking the grave stone. Get inside that little area and bash the front of the grave stone to reveal a hidden passage. Inside you'll find the Magic Cape!
(You can skip the following if you want)
If you head southeast from the Graveyard you'll find another talking tree. He says, "Wow! I haven't seen a normal person in a few hundred years! Let me talk to you for awhile. Surprisingly the Triforce created this world to fulfill Ganon's wish. What is Ganon's wish you ask? To rule the cosmos! Don't you think it might be possible with teh power of the Triforce behind you?"
As a general note of DarkWorld Exploration, directly south of the area before the "Dark World Sanctuary" and west of the Great Pyramid there is a grove of a lot of trees there is a house surrounded by fences. You'll have to jump from the top fence and again to get inside. This house is a store that sells a Red Shield for 500 Rupees, a bee for 10 Rupees and 10 Arrows for 30 rupees. Other than that, there really isn't much of interest here.
(Continue Here)
Teleport to the Light World. Play the flute and choose #4 when the bird picks Link up. You'll land in front of Link's House. Go directly south and then once you are there turn left and head toward the pegs. Pound down the pegs and lift the rock to enter the Dark World via a Teleport Tile. Go south to the dungeon where the little pond is (This was where you got the Heart Container Piece around the beginning of the Game) Warp to the Light World right out front and drain the pond by pulling the right switch. Warp back to the Dark World via the portal. Now enter the Dungeon.
You will be able to swim across the gap and you'll encounter some water skimmers after a bouncing spikey block. Kill the water skimmers and the chest will appear that contains a Small Key. Proceed into B1.
In the next corridor you will find more water skimmers. Kill those and lift up the skulls to reveal another Small Key. If you bomb the cracked wall in the upper left of this room it will reveal a passage to an area with a chest containing the Map. Leave that area and go unlock the door at the bottom left.
In the next room you'll encounter some enemies. Kill those and go down the ladder. Go directly up (or forward) from the ladder and lift up the skull in the next room to reveal another Small Key. Turn around and go back. Go up the other ladder here, and unlock the locked door. Enter this area and pound down the mole heads with the Magic Hammer. Then push the switch to release the water. Now exit here and drop into the water and enter the door to the left.
Now you'll be in a large room with a Big Chest in the middle. If you go into the door at the bottom you'll enter a room with two exits at the bottom, one is blocked by two blocks. Enter the one to the bottom right. Walk all the way around re enter the room you were just in and push the block and a small chest will appear. Open it and inside is the Compass. Leave this area and go back to the room with the Big Chest in the middle.
If you enter the door in the lower left hand corner of this room you'll be in another area with skull heads, a firesnake, and one of those blue eletrocution monsters. Instead of swinging the sword to kill the monsters use the hammer or pick up the skulls and throw them at the enemies, and you won't be pelted with fireballs. Go down the stairway and walk forward (up) into the next little area. Lift the skull and you'll find a Small Key. Leave and go back out to the room with the Big Chest.
Now head to the locked door in the northwest corner of the room with the Big Chest. Unlock it and enter. Hit the Crystal Switch and then hit the Trigger Switch to release the water. Hit the switch again. Don't go through the doorway at the bottom of this room. Rather return to the room with the Big chest and go back into the door at the bottom right (southwest) of this room. You can now get to the other side of this area by swimming into the water. Enter the door on the far left.
Make your way past the Fire snake and down the ladder. Push the bottom block forward then the middle one up. Walk up the ladder and then around the path up the stairs to 1F.
You'll now be in a room with a fire stick connected to a block, some water skimmers and a face block that is shooting fireballs at you. Go to the top of this room and push the block on the right out of your way and fall down the hole. Go to the left and inside you'll find a chest with the Big Key in it.
Make your way back to the large room that had the Big Chest in it. Open the big chest and inside you'll find the Hookshot. BOING!
Now equip the Hookshot and fire it directly at the skull to the right. Pick up the skull near the wall to find a Small Key. Drop down and get back on the platform where the big chest it. Get above the Big Chest and hookshot to the skulls directly above Link. Unlock this door and proceed.
The next room will have 3 doors, two are closed and 1 stairway. Go to the left and pick up the skulls. Under one you will find a switch. Move the nearest statue on top of the switch to hold it down. Don't go in the door just above you rather, go to the other door at the opposite side of the room that has opened. Proceed down the corridor, and go downstairs. Push the trigger switch to drain the water. Walk down the ladder and into the next room. Now go in the door at the top of this corridor.
In the next room you will find blocks and water skimmers. There is water draining out of mouths on the top wall. Go to the one second from the right. Walk forward and you'll be in the next room to the north (up).
Walk down the corrodor and into the room with the water flowing with a current. Jump into the water. Swim to the platform closet to the right wall where the skull is. Lift it up and you'll find a Small Key. You can get off and blow up that cracked wall if you want some items like hearts, arrows, bombs, and magic jars. Go into the platform with the locked door, unlock it and proceed into the Bosses Lair.
ARRGUS - This monster should be real easy. Use the Hookshot to grapple the blobs and kill them with the sword. After all the blobs are gone Arrgus with hop into the air, and then land in the water and bounce at diagonal angles around the room. Just hold B and let him run into your sword, or you can swing at him. 6 hits and he's done. Very easy battle. You'll get the Heart Contanier and a Crystal with an imprisoned Maiden.
She says, "Link, because of you I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. Thank you! ...The triforce will grant the wishes of whoever touches it, as long as that person lives... That is why it was hidden in the Golden Land. Only a select few knew of its location, but at some point that knowledge was lost... The person who rediscovered the Golden Land was Ganondorf the evil theif. (This corroborates the events of Ocarina of Time) Luckily, he couldn't figure out how to return to the Light World... ...Well, remember that you have magical powers, which only the Hero can make the most of! There are some other magical warping points like the one you saw on death mountain. By using them you can go between the two worlds and find the evils hidden in the Dark World. You are the only one who can destroy Ganondorf, the theif-no, Ganon, the evil King Of Darkness! Do you Understand? May the way of the hero lead to the Triforce!"
Now you'll exit the Water Palace. Warp to the Light World. Equip the Flute. Play the Flute. Select #1. Insteading of heading up to where the Tower of Hera is, go directly to the bottom right until you go to the next area. There will be a broken bridge. Use the hookshot to cross it. If you find the heavy rock in this area, lift it and enter the Dark World Teleport Tile. Now walk over to where you see the two caves. If you enter the one on the right there is a store that sells Life, A heart and bombs. Enter the cave on the left and make you way through the small maze of pits and doors (it's not really a maze because you just keep moving forward until you get to the end. Make sure that when you're in the area with 3 pits to fall into, fall into the one at the bottom. You'll exit above where you were. Now pick up the big rock.
Heart Container Piece - Make you're way over the invisible platforms. You can use the hookshot to grapple to all the skulls and chests in this room. There are a lot of chests with rupies in them. But near the beginning where you entered there is a bombable wall. But if you walk into the darkness you fall just before you get there. Actually if you walk forward over the pit then walk to the right, then up then back left and forward again you'll get to the landing where the cracked wall is. Blow this up, and proceed into the next area. You'll find more cracked walls. Blow these up and you'll find a Great Fairy and then an exit to another room. There is another cracked wall that you can bomb, in this room there are small fairies. Exit to outside and you'll be on an island. Warp to the Light World and you'll see a Heart Container Piece.
Warp to the Darkworld. Jump down from the island and continue to the left. Walk past the Manticores and past Ganon's Tower (You can't get in there yet.) Walk to the area west of Ganon's Tower past the bridge. Warp to the Light World. Read the Monolith with the Book of Mudora and you'll be given the Ether Medalion. Equip the Flute. Play the Flute. Choose #6. Lift the Heavy Rock to reveal a Dark World Teleporter. Warp to the Dark World.
Heart Container Piece - Enter the left Entrance of Misery Mire. You'll find some blocks and two chests. one Contains a Heart Container Piece. Exit. and go back outside to Misery Mire.
Heart Container Piece - Make your way up as far as you can go to the upper northeast corner of the area. There is a cul de sac here. Warp to the Lightworld. Lift up the Rock and you'll find a Heart Container Piece. Warp to the Dark World.
Go to the main Entrance of Misery Mire. There should be an Ether Medalion symbol. Use the Ether Medalion and the rain will stop and the entrance to this dungeon will open.
Once Inside use the hookshot to grapple to the block to cross the pit. Go downstairs to B1
Kill all the enemies in this area and the door will unlock. Be careful to avoid being zapped by the Laser Eye. You'll enter a large room with a chainlink level overlapping a lower level. Go down the stairs. Make your way to the door at top of this area in the northeast corner. Proceed into the next area. Go head and move the block out of the way and keep going up, you'll eventually be in a room with wooden bridges. Open the only chest, and there will be a Small Key inside. Return to the room with the block and the torches that shoot fireballs at you.
This time go in the door on the right of the screen. There is a laser eye and some spikes in here. Pick up one of the skulls to reveal a Small Key. Then walk onto the spikes and pick up the other skull to reveal a switch. Step on the switch and a chest will appear. Open the Chest and get another Small Key. Unlock the door at the top of the room and proceed forward. In the room with the two doors and the netting keep heading up, ignore the door to the left. Follow the path. You'll now be in an area with spikes, enemies, and torches that shoot fireballs.
Go to the upper left past the barriers and you'll see a skull lift it and there is a Small Key (You should have 3 Keys now) inside. Hit the Crystal Switch next to the skull and make it Blue. Go straight down, and unlock the locked door. (You should have 2 Keys now) Keep going down past the spikes. and enter the door at the bottom right. You'll be back in the big room with all the Chain Link netting. You'll notice that the blue pegs blocking the skull are down. Pick up that skull and you'll find another Small Key (You should have 3 Keys now). Go to the door in the southwest of this room. Unlock it and proceed to the next room.
There will be more enemies. Kill the eletrocution enemy and it will reveal another Key (You again now have 4 Keys) Unlock the locked door in this room. (You now have 3 Keys) Go into that Door. The floor will attack you. Light all the torches. The door at the top will open. Enter and you'll find a chest containing the Compass. Go back down again, and continue down past the room with the flying floor tiles. You should be in a room with a conveyor and a bunch of enemies. Kill those and go upstairs to 1F.
You should now be in a room with pits, wizrobes and torches blocked by blocks. Clear the way to the torches by first moving the top and bottom block forward on both sides then pushing the middle block up or down. Proceed to the Next Room. Repeat the same thing here. Now light all the torches in both rooms. You will see/hear rumbling. Enter the room to the right. Fall down the pit. You will find a chest that contains the Big Key! Go to the left and step on the teleport tile and you'll teleport to a room with door with a big keyhole. Open it, and then proceed to the next room and step on the Teleport Tile.
You'll appear in another room with a door with a big keyhole. Skip it and walk right and enter the next room. THis area should look familiar. Make your way back to the big room near the beginning of the dungeon where the big netted chain link floor was.
Go past the Skull Fairy (or transform it with the Magic Powder if you are low on energy), and continue to the next room. In this room the Floor falls. You need to be quick to get onto it before the tiles fall away. Run to the end of the area and you'll get the Cane of Somaria inside of the Big Chest. As well in the door to the left you'll be on an area where there are a few spikes and a treasure chest. Open the chest and it will contain the Map. Go up. Go up past the next room with the laser eye too. In the next room go left.
Go to the door with the big keyhole and unlock it. You'll then enter the area where the wooden bridges was, just run forward and go downstairs to B2. You'll be in a totally dark room. There are 2 doors at the bottom of this room. One is locked. One is triggered by a swtich under a skull. The locked door leads to a room with blue rupees in it. You probably don't need rupees right now. Use the Cane of Somaria to place a block on the switch so it will keep the door open. Proceed to the next room.
The next room will have blocks in it in the shape of an "X." Go in the open doorway to the right. This room will have vertical barriers and a spiked block. Move around these and go above this spot to where there are conveyors and a Crystal Switch surrounded by a pit. Hit the switch with a boomerang or something. Now proceed into the room on the left of this room.
The orange Pegs should be down, if they're not go back and hit the Crystal Switch so it is orange. Bomb the wall at the top of this room so it reveals a passage. Go into the passage. hit the Crystal Switch to turn it Blue. Return to the room you just came from and go left again. There is a room with jellies that drop from the ceiling here. Hit the switch so it is Orange. Proceed upstairs, you'll notice that the orange pegs are down. Unlock the big keyhole door to enter the Bosses Lair.
VITREOUS - This should be simple enough. Kill the small eyeballs. When Vitreous flashes it means it is about to shoot a lightning bolt. Simply go to the left or right to avoid the lightning. Once all the small Eyeballs are gone the big one will dislodge and you'll have to kill that one with the sword. The easiest way is to just stand in the center bottom of the room and hold B every time it hits your sword it will bounce off and just press B again. About 12 hits ought to do it. You'll get the Heart Container and the Crystal.
The Maiden inside says, "Link because of you I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. Thank you! Ganon captured us because he couldn't break the seal of the wise men with his power alone. And then, using the wizard Agahnim as his pawn, he drew us to the Dark World. After cracking the seal with our powers, he sealed us inside of these crystals. He then gave us to his loyal monsters. But Ganon didn't plan on your getting this far. Now Princess Zelda, is waiting for you inside of Turtle Rock. Please Hurry! Do you understand? May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce."
Warp to the Light World. Equip the Flute. Use it. Choose #3. You'll be in Kakariko. Head north to the Teleporter, Lift the heavy large black rock and enter the Dark World. While your in the vacinity, you might as well pick up that heart peice above the cave with the sign nearby that says, "I will give a Piece of Heart to anyone wearing the cape." (If you forgot where it was, it's the same cave that in the Light World, leads you to Death Mountain. Make your way to that cave.
Heart Container Piece - Enter the cave and walk past the bumper heading up. Go upstairs. Hookshot across the pit to the skulls. Equip the cape and use it. Walk through the bumper and outside the cave. You'll be on the ledge where the Heart Container Piece is. Get it, and drop back down.
Return back to where the Dark World Teleporter was that had just used. Enter the Skull woods at the location just above that teleporter
Make your way past the holes, and to where you see the skull with an open mouth. You'll see a square of bushes. Cut these down and it will reveal a hole. Fall into it. Head straight down and you'll find the Map in a small chest. Go to the left since you don't have any keys and walk outside. Make note of the Big Chest.
Exit here and go outside again. Now go around through the rib bones and down to the other skull entrance. You should now be in a room with some Gibdos and other enemies. Kill these and lift the skull pot blocking the closed door to reveal a switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block to hold down the switch. No go up and into the next room.
In this room you'll see a small chest that contains the Big Key. Leave this room. And now exit this area of the dungeon. Go back outside and back around through the ribs to the other dungeon entrance. Fall into the hole in the ground outside to the southeast. You'll fall into a room with four bumpers and some Gibdos. Find the small key in the small chest in this room. Unlock the door at the top of the room and proceed into the next.
Now go to the room to the left and go back outside the dungeon again. You'll see the square of bushes. Cut those down and fall into the hole underneath yet again. Hit the star switch and go into the next room. You'll see a pull switch. Pull this switch to destroy the wall right behind you with the cracks in it. Go down and open the Big Chest to get the Fire Rod. Now exit this part of the dungeon to outside.
If you want the compass, you'll want to fall down the hole outside toward the southwest from where you just exited. If you don't care about it, just go up and around through the rib bones and enter the skull head entrance. Then go directly left, through the room with the bumper and back outside again. You'll see two paths of Ribs above you. Take the one to the upper left. You'll see a big skull head. Equip the Fire Rod, And use it here. Enter the big Skull Head.
Inside you'll see an elevated walkway over a lower area. Go down the ladder next to the walk way and make you way to the back of this area and into an open doorway to proceed to the next room. In the next room, go up on to the upper walkway and down to the bottom, jump off the ledge to the area below, kill the Gibdos if you want but go into the doorway to the left here. You'll be in the spot where the chest is in the room adjacent. Open it to find a small key. Now Make you way all the way back to where you started this and cross the upper walkway in that room to unlock the locked door.
In the next room you'll see star trigger tiles and skulls. Step on the star tiles and then find the next star tile you can step on and you'll progress right through the room to the open door on the right. Enter this and you'll be in another room with Gibdos. Kill the Gibdos, and you'll notice there are four torches in this room. One of the torches is across a couple pits and you can't reach it with the lamp. You must light all four torches to open the door. Use the Fire Rod to light all the torches or just the one across the pit if you want, but once you light them the door will open.
The next room appears to have no exit. Kill the enemies and then swipe the vines on the center of the top wall to reveal the exit. Proceed into the next room.
In this room kill all the enemes to get a small key to unlock the locked door here. Unlock it and proceed to the next room.
This room has a pit in it with a floor below, fall into the pit to enter Mothula's Lair.
MOTHULA - The battle is over before it starts. Just hit Mothula 4 times with your sword and its dead. It took me all of 4 seconds. That simple, the Gibdos were more annoying than this. You'll be given the Piece of Heart and the Crystal with a Maiden in it.
The maiden says, "Link because of you I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. Thank you! ...Do you know the prophesy of the great cataclysm? This is the way I heard it... If a person who has evil in his heart gets the Triforce, a Hero is destined to appear... ...and alone must face the person who began the Great Cataclysm. If the evil one destroys the Hero, nothing can save the world form his wicked reign. Only a person of the Knights of Hyrule, who protected the royalty of Hylia, can become the Hero... You are of their blood line, aren't you? Then you must rescue Zelda without fail. Do you understand? May the way of the hero lead to the Triforce!"
Now return to the Light World via the magic mirror. Equip the Flute. Use it. Choose #4. Now go to Lake Hylia. Swim to the island in the center and lift up the dark heavy rock covering a Dark World Teleport Tile. Step on it. You'll now be in front of the entance to the Ice Palace. Enter.
ICE PALACE
In the first room kill the Ice Zombie with the Fire Rod. Proceed to the next room. Kill the 3 enemies here to get the Small Key and open the door and proceed to the next room. In the next room simply step on the switch to open the sealed door, proceed to the next room.
This room is shaped likea big "+" sign. Push the center block and go to the door at the bottom. Kill all the pengators in that room and a chest will appear with the compass inside. Exit this room and go back to the + Room. Push the block and go to the room to the right. Kill the pengators, and lift the skulls to reveal a switch. Step on it and turn around back from where you came and go back into the + Room, Now push the block in the center and take the path up.
In room will be a switch and some enemies. You'll notice that when you hit the switch to make the blue pegs go down it raises the orange ones. Simply hit the switch to make the blue ones go down, then place a bomb next to the switch, and run behind the blue pegs, and then when the bomb blows up it will hit the switch and the orange pegs will go down. Now drop a bomb on the cracked floor and fall in the hole.
In the next room, walk around until you find a staffos. Hit it with you sword and drop a bomb on it. It will die. There are 2 here. Once they are dead the door opens.
The next room the floor moves in two directions. Kill all the enemies to get a key to open the door at the far end. Don't hit the Crystal Switch to change it, leave it along and enter the next room.
The next room will have a flame rod spinning in the center. Lift up one of the skulls to reveal a switch to unseal the door and proceed to the next room.
Walk down here and go downstairs to B3. You'll now be in a room with Pengators. Kill these and proceed to the next room.
This will be another room with the shape of a +. Take the upper path. If you fall down to the lower level you'll enter an icy floored room with fireball sticks and pengators. Lift the chest in this room to reveal the switch to open the door. You'll have to go into the door and then fall down the hole. You will now drop to B5 and see the Big Chest, but you don't have the big key yet so don't worry about it. Proceed Right.
In the next room you will see orange and blue pegs again. Just walk past and proceed to the next room.
This room is filled with skulls and shadow creatures that come from the walls. Lift up the skulls to find a Small Key and a switch. Push down the switch to open the door. Go into the door at the bottom to proceed to the next room.
This room has a slick floor and a spinning fire rod in the center, be careful and walk around to proceed to the next room.
Lift the skull in this room to reveal a switch. Step on it and a chest will appear. Open it and there is a Small Key inside.
Proceed upstairs to B4. Kill the Ice Zombie. And open the locked door with the key. Enter the room with the icy floor and the pengators, go all the way up to the top of this room and proceed to another room with a chasm in the middle. Use the hookshot to cross the gap and proceed to the room at the bottom.
You'll now be in a room with 4 large spiked blocks. Walk around these and go upstairs to B3.
In this room lift the skull to reveal a switch. The switch will make a chest with a Small Key appear. Get the key and unlock the door to the left. Go into that second + shaped room from before and go directly left into another room with ice and a turing fire ball stick. Go down the stairs. You'll be in that one room where you had to fall down the pit because you couldn't jump over. Kill the Ice Zombies and a chest will appear. Blow a hole in the floor. Don't fall down the hole you just made. Walk back into the + shaped room, go right, and back where you were. Now go upstairs via the stair way in the upper right to B2.
you'll be in a room with mole heads, staffos, a big block, a statue with it's toung sticking out. Kill the Staffos, pound down the mole heads with the hammer, pick up the skulls to reveal a switch. Pull on the statue's tounge to reveal a chest containing the Map. Go into the room on the right. Now go upstairs and you'll be in a room with a chest that contains the Big Key! Move the blocks and proceed to the room to the left. Now you're back at the + Room from the beginning of the Dungeon. Choose the path up, you'll have to do the same thing you did here before. I'm not going to explain everything all over again, but take the path back through the rooms that bring you back to the room where the Big Chest is. Inside the Big chest you will find the Blue Mail.
Now In the the next room from the Big Chest unlock the Big Key Door and go up. In the next room there will be some enemies and a locked door at the top. Unlock the locked door and proceed down stairs to B6.
Proceed down to the next room. Kill the enemies in here and lift the skull to reveal a switch. Now normally, there is a whole lot of stuff you got to do to get that switch to stay down but because you finished Dungeon 6 before 3 and 5, you have the cane of Somaria. Just use that to hold the switch down.
In the next room you'll have to pound down mole heads, move the statue, and lift a block to reveal a pit. Fall into the pit.
KOLDSTARE
This is another easy battle. Just fire at the ice with the Fire Rod and it will eventually melt and the three eyeballs will come out and move around the room. Kill these and you're done. Pretty simple. You'll get a Heart Container and the Crystal with a Maiden trapped inside.
She says, "Link, because of you I can escape from the clutches of the evil monsters. THank you! They say the Hylia people controlled mysterious powers, as did the seven wise men. But the blood of the Hylia has become thin over time. We who carry the blood of the seven wise men do not possess strong power any more, either. Our powers will increase if we mix the courage of the Knights with the wisdom of the wise men. Only a short tim remains until the gate at the castle linking the worlds opens completely. If you defeat Ganon, this world will vanish and the Triforce will wait for a new holder. I believe in you... Good luck! Do you understand? May the way of the hero lead to the Triforce!"
Warp to the Light World. Equip the Flute. Use it. Choose #4. Go down into the swamp area and directly left, bang down the pegs and enter the Dark World via the Teleport Tile. Once in the Dark World go right back to where Link's house would be in the L.W. Buy the big peach colored bomb from the bomb shop. Drag this bomb to the Great Pyramid. There is a huge block with a crack in it there. Use the bomb on that crack.
You'll find a pond inside that asks you to throw something in. Throw the Bow and Arrows and the Master Sword in. A FAT Fairy will appear and upgrade both of those items. You will have the Silver Arrows and the Enchanted Tempered Master Sword.
Now return to the Light World via the Magic Mirror. Equip the Flute. Use it. Choose #1
On Death Moutnain go up the long ladder to the Dark World Teleport tile near Spectacle Rock. Lift the rock and step on the Tile to Enter the Dark World.
Since we haven't gotten it yet, might as well get the Cane of Byrna. Go directly down from the teleport tile and land on the ledge below. Enter the cave. Pound down the mole heads. If you don't want to lose energy use the Cape right now to walk across the spikes without losing energy. When you get to the end of the spikes there will be a block, lift it and then open the chest that contains the Cane of Byrna. If you're out of Magic, as long as you have full health you'll make it all the way back to the cave entrance by walking over the spikes.
No go to Turtle Rock Dungeon. You'll have to go there via the light world, so teleport to the Light World with the Magic Mirror at Spectacle rock and hop off. Walk in front of the Tower of Hera, and to the east. Walk over the bridge and bang down the pegs and continue walking east until you get to Turtle rock, you'll see a large heavy rock below a ladder. Pick up the rock. On the elevated area you'll see 3 pegs. Pound down the one to the right first, then the top one, then the left one, and a Dark World Teleport Tile will appear. Step on to the tile and you'll appear on top of Turtle Rock Dungeon. There is a Quake medalion symbol. Simply stand over the symbol and use the quake medalion. Use the quake medallion, and the turtle's face will vanish to reveal the passage inside. Go inside.
This is the first room of the Dungeon. Use the Cane of Somaria to cross the chasm. You'll enter another with a giant chasm and stopping points for the platform. Use the Cane of Somaria to create the platform. Push to the right to make the platform move in that direction. Go to the second stop on the upper right hand side of the area. Enter here.
You'll be in a room with another pathway and 4 torches. The important thing to remember is to light the torches with the Fire Rod as late as possible. Try to light two of them at once if you can. Once you light them make sure you're near the landing where the entrance was, there's another door just above this. You'll have a second or two to get in that door before one of the torches unlights and the door is resealed. Once you get past here make your way to the next room.
IN this room you will see some rolling pins with spikes on them. Easy to avoid, make your way to the top of the room and open the two chests. One contains a Small Key and the other contains the Map. Make your way back, out of this room, past the last one you were in with the torches and back out into the big main room with all the platform stops.
Use the Cane of Somaria to make the platform and move up and to the left, but stop at the next platform. It should be a room with a bunch of floor tiles that attack you. Just stand near the back and hold B, everytime one hits your sword, hold be again. Once all the tiles are done, the door will open, proceed to the next room.
In this room you will find a large magic jar and a fairy. You'll need it. Once you got the items return to the room with all the Platform Stops.
Use the Cane of Somaria to make the platform again. Move to the next stop. (Note: if you go all the way to the bottom stop, there is a door at the bottom that leads to the Compass, if you want that or need it, otherwise skip it.) Unlock the locked door and proceed into the next room.
You'll see a bouncing totem thing, kind of reminds me of the Pokey's from Super Mario Bros. 2. Kill this creature and it will drop a Small Key. Use the small key to unlock the locked door and proceed to the next room.
The next room will contain a pair of Chain Chomps, yet another Super Mario crossover enemy. Go ahead and avoid these guys. You see that Crystal Switch? You're going to have to place a bomb near it to blow up and get behind the orange pegs near the blue pegs. Do that. Once the blue pegs are down, push the block under the right chain chomp that is now accessable. A chest will appear. Open it and you will get another Small Key to unlock the door. Hit the crystal switch with the boomerang or something and it will make the orange pegs go down again. Proceed to the next room.
Here is another large room filled with pipes that criss cross the ceiling above you. Climb the ladder in the lower southeast corner of this room and enter the pipe. You will emerge in the upper northwest corner of the room. Proceed through the open doorway into the next room.
Kill all the enemies in here to get the Small Key to unlock the door. The Skull Fairy's bouncing around might be an annoyance so use the Magic Powder to turn those into regular fairies and get some energy if you need it. Once you have the Small Key proceed to the Lava/Pipe room again, and enter that Pipe. You will arrive at the small island in the center of the Lava. Open the chest to get the small Key.
Go into pipe in front of you and you will Pop out in the south eastern corner of the Lava Room. Walk through here and you'll be in the Pipe room w/o Lava. Enter the pipe in front of you. You'll come out in about the center of the room. Jump down. Climb the ladder athe southeastern corner again and enter that pipe again. Now go to the 2nd Pipe, the one closest to the lava and furthest from the Door. You'll arrive at an area at the bottom of the room, go inside and you'll find another couple of Pokey's. Kill these and the doors will open. Go into the door at the bottom.
The path will split. take the one on the left. Okay, in this room will be some Wall Laser Eyes, you can't kill those. Just lift the skulls and blow up the cracked wall. Exit through this cave and you'll be outside on Death Mountain. Walk to the spot just in front of the second cave to the right. Don't go inside, stand right in front of that cave. Instead use the Magic Mirror to warp to the Light World.
Heart Container Piece - Once you warp to the Light World, enter this cave entrance. There will be some elephant monsters. Kill these with the Silver Arrows, and the door will open. You will have to bang down the mole heads to proceed into the chamber with the Heart Container Piece. Once you leave the cave you'll run into the portal from the Magic Mirror and warp back to the Dark World. That should be your last one.
Now go into the cave in front of you. There will be a big chest, open it to Get the Mirror Shield. Proceed into the next room. You will see a rolling pin and a Big Key door. Unlock it and proceed to the Next Room.
You'll be back in the Lava/Pipe room again, enter the pipe. You'll come out on the platform on the top wall in the northwestern corner. Enter the door way. You will now be in another room with a Pokey and 4 skulls. Kill the pokey and then blow up the two cracked walls to reveal passages. Take the one to the right.
You'll be in a room with a couple statues with their tounges sticking out. Walk around and kill all the enemies in this room, you'll hear that "you found something chime" Then push the block out of the way, then pull on the statue's tounge. The door will open. It's rupee time, collect up a bunch of blue rupees if you need them, otherwise dont' bother and turn around.
Now go back to the room with the two holes you made and take the top path this time, the one with the small black worms dribbling out.
You'll now be in a room with another rolling pin, a Crystal Switch, and a chest. You can hit the Crystal Switch with the boomerang, and you'll have to stand inside the orange pegs and might take a hit from the rolling pin. Open the chest to get a Small Key. Unlock the door and proceed downstairs to B2.
This is another chasm/floating platform room. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a platform. This is an interesting but annoying place. There are fireball sticks rotating and tons of crazy every which way courses for the platform to follow. Heh, I don't know how to explain it, but you have to find the course that goes to the center platform in the room. Once you get there, lift the skull head to reveal the button switch and step on it. A door in the room will open. Get back on the platform and make your way to the bottom right hand entrance way and proceed into the next room.
Here will be a skinny bridge and a wall lined with laser eyes. Just dash across but be careful at the end the path is an odd shape and you could fall in if you don't stop in time. Knock the Helmasaur into the abyss below. Go down, into the entrance at the bottom of the screen and proceed into the next room.
Here will be another room with chests, a skinny walkway over an abyss and Laser eyes. The mirror shield will protect you from the laser eyes. The last chest near the bottom contains a Small Key. Don't bother with the cracked wall at the bottom. Leave this room and return to the the last one with the helmasaur and the skinny walkway over the abyss. Unlock the locked door to the left.
You'll now be in a room with a lot of Crystal Switchs and blue and orange pegs. I found the boomerang and the magic powder to be very useful here. Use this to raise/lower the blue/orange pegs as needed. Use the Magic Powder to transform the Skull Fairies into regular fairies. Make your way to the top of the room where the stairway to B3.
Pick up the two skulls to get some Magic. Use the Cane of Somaria to create the platform. Unlock the Big Key door and you're at the boss room.
TRINEXX
Yay, Trinexx. This one should be fairly easy. You'll have to alternate between the fire rod/ice rod. Hit the red head with the Ice Rod, hit the Blue head with the Fire Rod, simple enough. When you hit the head it will stop moving, hit it with the Master Sword 3 times and it wll break off. When you break both heads off Trinexx will turn into a snake. Hit the glowing orb in the middle. 1, 2, 3 and Trinexx is done. It took me all of 20 SECONDS to finish this.
You'll get the Heart Container and Zelda sealed in the crystal. She will commend Link, "I appreciate your coming so far to rescue me. As I thought, you are the Legendary Hero. I have felt this from the first time we met. ... ... ... Ganon is waiting inside of his tower to pass through the gate linking the two worlds. Once Ganon enters the Light World, it is unlikely that anyone can stop him. But if he stays in the closed space of this world, you can find him wherever he runs. Now, go to the Tower of Ganon! We will use our combined powers to break the barrier. Let's return peace to the country without fail... ... ... ... Do you understand? May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce!"
Walk over the Ganon's Tower and Zelda will speak from the Crystal, "Link, we are going to break the barrier of Ganon's Tower with out power. The crystals will break the barrier, and a stairway will appear. Go into Ganon's Tower.
2F. You'll be in a large room with statues of Ganon holding the Triforce. You have 3 doors at the top of the room. Choose the one on the upper left hand side.
1F. You'll be in a room with a couple torches a skull head enemy and a Small Key stuck to the torch. Bang into the torch to release the key. Go into the left entrance, don't unlock the door yet.
In this room you will see some mole heads, a conveyor, a bumper, and blocks. Hit all the moleheads down and push the block in the center of the room to make the pits disappear and open the door to the left. Make sure you pick up the skull to reveal another Small Key. Proceed to the next room.
You'll now be in a room with a bunch of platforms and blocks. Hookshot to each of these. Make your way to the bottom of the room where the Crystal Switch is. Place a bomb by the Crystal Switch and get behind the blue pegs at the bottom of the screen. The blue pegs will rise. Proceed to the next room.
You'll be in a room with 2 Crystal Switches next to each other and some pegs again. Place a bomb near the outer crystal switch so that the explosion only touches one. You'll have to get in the corner by the skull before the orange pegs rise. Pick up the Skull in the bottom right corner to reveal a Small Key. Unlock the door to your right and proceed to the next room
You'll be in a room with a Crystal Switch and some spiked blocks. Hit the switch to make the orange pegs go down and step into the Teleport Tile.
You will now be in a room with 4 fireball snakes. Make your way toward the left and move the single block to reveal a chest. Use the hookshot to grapple over the gap to the chest. Open the chest to find another Small Key. Unlock the door and go down.
You'll now be in a room with a ton of Teleport Tiles. Step on them in successive order. Step on the Teleport tile in the lower left hand corner to escape from this madness to a room with a bunch of pits. Step on another teleport tile and proceed to the next room.
You'll now be in a room with a twisty walkway, most of which is invisible. To make the walkway visible. Stand across from the torch at the top of the room and use the fire rod ot light it. Walk around the path. Go through the door with the Triforces on either side.

Leave that room, and go through the door on the left of the icy room. You'll now be in a room with 4 torches. Bash the wall at the top to reveal a room with 4 fairies in it. Go back upstairs.
1F. You'll now be in the room with the Big Chest. Move the block out of your way and open the big chest to get the Red Mail. Head up. In the next room head up again, and go upstairs.
2F. You're back in the room you first started Ganon's Tower in. Take the middle path now with the Triforces on either side of the door.
3F. You'll now be in a room with orange and blue pegs, and spiked floor. Hit the Crystal Switches to raise and lower the colored pegs. Kill the enemies with your arrows . Move the top block to the far left to make the door open. Proceed to the next room.
You'll now be in a room with 2 Red elephants, some statues, those shifting spiked blocks again. Kill the Red elephant enemies to proceed.
In this room will be two laser eyes and 3 more Red elephant enemies. Kill them again with your Silver Arrows, and proceed. Unlock the Big Key door.
In the next room will be two levels. The lower level has Pegs and a crystal switch, the upper level. There are a couple enemies at the bottom. You'll have to hit the Crystal Switch to lower the pegs and shifting spiked blocks will be released. Pick up the middle skull at the top of the room and you'll find a button switch. hit the switch to unlock the door. Walk around to the now open door and enter to proceed.
The next room will be a pathway and cannons on either wall. Try not to get caught in cross fire and make your way to the end of the walk way. If you notice there is a wall at the bottom from the open door with a crack in it. Throw a bomb there. Then dash into the two blocks to bounce link over to the platform. There will be a couple fairies in here. Leave and go back out, hookshot to the two blocks and go into the door upstairs.
4F. Kill all the enemies in this room to proceed.
This room with have some enemies and a laser eye on a conveyor. Kill all the enemies to proceed.
This room will have 2 laser eyes and enemies on conveyors. Kill all the enemies to proceed.
This room will have laser eyes, conveyors, icy floor and enemies. Kill the enemies to proceed.
This room will have a laser eye, a fire shooter face, some enemies. Kill the enemies to proceed.
There's nothing in here but one of those things that turn link into a Bunny. If you use the Magic Powder on it fast enough you can score another fairy. Otherwise let it turn you into a bunny. Proceed to the next room.
This room will contain 3 Landmolas (2nd Boss of the game), very easy to kill, 2 hits each. The door opens after they are done. Proceed into the next room.
Go upstairs.
5F. You will be in a room that looks like there is no way out. Just a huge chasm. And there are wizzrobes here. The room basically has an invisible square pathway. You'll have to walk that square to get to the other side. You'll have to kill the Wizzrobes to open the sealed door.
This room will have a long walkway over an abyss with wall laser eyes on either side. Just dash across it.
The next room will have 4 wizrrobes. Kill those to proceed.
The next area is a walkway that breaks away and falls into the abyss below. Just dash across it before it falls and enter the door on the right.
Now you'll be in a room with a rotating fireball stick and 4 torches in a cross pattern surrounded by an abyss. Pick up the skulls to give Link free access to the torches. The next room will have a ladder in it. Go up the ladder.
6F. The next room has a fire snake and a floor with pits in it. The floor falls down so you have to be careful. You have to light torches again. Start with the one in the upper right hand corner and work clockwise to open the door and enter the next room.

7F. Walk past the Ganon statues. Unlock the Big Key door and enter the Boss chamber.
AGAHNIM 2
As if this guy wasn't pointless the last time, he's back for another try. He gloats again, "Ho Ho Ho! (Go Dancer, go blitzen, go prancer...) It's great that you could come all the way here, Link. I am very happy to see you again, but you'd better believe that we will not have a third meeting! Prepare to meet your doom!" (...riiiiiight....)
Basically this is the same Agahnim from before, but this one makes translucent copies. Just hit the one that is solid with the bursts of magic. 6 hits and he's finished. Ganon rises from his dead body and turns into a Bat and flys off to the Pyramid of Power at the center of the map. Somehow Link calls his bird buddy and he is flown off to the Pyramid to go face Ganon. (That bird didn't work any other time LInk used the flute in the Dark World. )
GANON BATTLE
Well this is it, time to face your *ahem* doom, against Ganon. At the top of the pyramid simply fall down the hole to enter Ganon's "lair."
Ganon begins to speak, "I never imagined a boy like you could give me so much trouble. It's unbelieveable that you defeated my alter ego, Agahnim (not really, he was a wimp) the Dark Wizard, twice! (oh please.) But I will never give you the Triforce. I will destroy you and make my wish to conquer the Light and Dark worlds come true without delay."
His first attack is to spin the trident around and around, and try to hit you with it. Just hit him with the sword until the small flames start growing around him. This is his second attack. These turn into bats. You'll notice that the circle is off center from Ganon. Hit him with the sword on the side where the circle is slightly misaligned to him. When he's been hit enough from that he will start teleporting and jumping to break off the outer edges of the room. Just keep hitting him with the sword. When he's done with that, he'll say, "You are doing well, lad. But can you break through this technique of Darkness?" This is his 4th Attack type. He will make the torches go out. You'll have to light them. Then when he's visible hit him with the Master sword and he will turn bluish, then hit him with the Silver Arrows. 4 Arrows ought to do it, and he's finished. When he dies the door to the Triforce chamber will open.
LINK OBTAINS THE TRIFORCE!
"Welcome Link... I am the Essence of the Triforce. ... ... ... The Triforce will grant the wishes in the heart and mind of the person who touches it. If a person with a good heart touches it, it will make his good wishes come true... If an evil-hearted person touches it, it grants his evil wishes. The stronger the wish the more powerful the Triforce's expression of that wish. Ganon's wish was to conquer the world. That wish changed the Golden Land to the Dark World. Ganon was building up his power here so he could conquer the Light World and make his wish come completely true. But now, you hae totally destroyed Ganon. His Dark World will vanish. The Triforce is waiting for a new owner. Its Golden Powerin your hands... Now touch it with a wish in your heart. ... ... ... ... "
And the Master Sword sleeps again...
