ZELDA 64 ACTION FIGURES

With the arrivial of a new Zelda game comes the merchandise associated with that game. Recently Nintendo has discovered the recent "collector bug" that people have been getting lately (Beanie Babies, Furbies, Star Wars Stuff, Wheaties Boxes, etc.) and has brought about through licensing a new line of Nintendo related stuff for us fans of their games to ravenously aquire. Recently, full size Action Figures (they're NOT DOLLS, okay girls!) of Ganondorf, Link, and a 3-Pack of Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda mini-figures have been produced. They're actually pretty cool looking and are rather inexpensive costing about $7.99 each ($9.99 for the three pack) . I've managed to obtain all of them. It seems I've only seen them at Babbages so far and not in the toy store, so it may be an exclusive of Babbages/Software Etc. but I'm not sure on that.

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?

Link (Adult) - About 5 and a half inches tall, moveable arms and head. He comes equipped with The Master Sword and his Hylian Shield. He can only hold the sword in one hand, his left, and there is a hole through his fist to put the sword. The shield clips to his right arm.

Ganondorf - Probably the coolest looking one, 7 inches of muscle bound Ganondorf, with movable arms and head. Unfortunately he comes with no weapon or the ability to hold a weapon although he does have a dagger molded to his leg.

Mini-Fig 3-Pack - Contains smaller replicas of Link and Ganondorf and include smaller replicas of his Hylian Shield and Master Sword. This set includes THE ONLY Zelda figure. She is the adult, and is wearing her white royal dress and blue ornamental drapery (hey I don't know what to call that). No feet though.

My gripes: Okay Zelda Figures are cool, but um..., we can do better. First off Link should at least have the Ocarina of Time (That is the name of the game right), as well as the rest of his equipment like the Hookshot, the boomerang, his bow, and Mirror Shield (that one would be cool) Maybe even the Triforce? Ganon could have had more weapons or come with a "Black Gerudo Stallion" or maybe be a two pack of a veluptous Gerudo wench at his side. Where's the larger version of Zelda? That would have been nice. Zelda 64 has so many interesting characters to pass up making an action figure for. I just don't get why they only made three different action-figs of these guys. Just think of the possiblities with characters like Kokiri kids, Zoras, Princess Ruto, Sheik, Talon, Malon and Ingo, Darunia, Impa, Saria, Nabooru, A Stalfos, A Lizilfos, A Moblin, the possibilites are endless! And please make their legs move too. I just wish these action figure companies would hire me to show them how to do things right. Now Todd McFarlane, there's a man who can make an action figure.

Update: According to some of you visitors there is a Full Size Princess Zelda Action Figure on the market. Apparently It just hasn't made it to my neck of America or it was in such limited quantity that it sold out before I ever saw it. Also some good news, thanks to some visitors, I've been made aware of new Zelda 64 Collectable Action Figures to be released later this year, around Christmas, that emulate exactly the characters I previously mentioned. Apparently these debuted in the May issue of ToyFare
