![]() WEBSITE WALL OF SHAME It figures..., just when you think people smartened up and realized it just isn't right to steal information and not provide credit where credit is due, there's always another ignorant fool who wants to make a better name for himself by taking what you worked hard to accomplish and call it his own. I honestly hate having a page like this on my website, but it seems that some people just don't get it, they simply just don't care about other people and they are so self-centered, unwilling to acknowledge the source of their information. It really makes me angry the lengths that people will go to blatantly copy or otherwise ignore me, Video Gamer X, and the Odyssey of Hyrule entirely. Pages and webmasters that end up on this page should truly feel ashamed that they were willing to sink to such a level as to mistreat another webmaster, and dishonor that which they are associated with, The Legend of Zelda. http://www.linkhouse.net/zelda64/ - "Zelda: The Ocarina of Time": Here's a guy that ripped off my "Did you Know?" section, "Heart Container Piece Locations" "Ocarina Songs," and the "Top Secret" section. He never once asked to use that information. This worthless bloodsucker can be e-mailed at, [email protected]. Wasn't this guy on the Wall of Shame already?...yep, guess he didn't learn his lesson the FIRST time. Sheesh! http://www.hyrule.findhere.com/ - "Zelda: The Quest (he also spells it Qwest sometimes) Continues": You've almost got to laugh at this one. He impersonates me right down to my online name! They say immitation is the sincerest form of flattery but this one is just plain stupid. He has the nerve to call himself "Video Gamer X", and answer letters on his site with duplicated quotations from "The Odyssey of Hyrule" made by me in sections and from discussions I've had. This site is like some rainbow coloured psudo-duplicate of "The Odyssey of Hyrule" (Yet ANOTHER one with an ad banners at the top so he can rake some dough off of Video Gamer X's ideas and really rip me off) What on Earth was this guy thinking? He tarnishes the Zelda name with his greed and disregard for other people's thoughts. That's all for today, thank goodness. I still don't get it. Never once have I foresaken anyone else's work or accomplishment, rather I've been the one to encourage and make known that accomplishment or contribution to this site. I've seen "Crooked Cartridge" mentioned on other sites without a single mention of the name "T-Dog" or "The Odyssey of Hyrule" He is the founder of that glitch and this site was THE FIRST EVER to report that and virtually NO ONE says so. This pisses me off. If it wasn't for T-Dog and Crooked Cart there would be no VGX DEBUG. Certainly credit is due! These sites that take my ideas and information show how truly shallow and self-centered their webmasters are. The best solution is for you gamers out there to contact these sites and express your feelings about the things they have done. You can help me put an end to "Wall of Shamers" and bring fair-play back to the internet. Video Gamer X thanks you in your support in these unfortunate matters. It's rather unfortunate that I had to do this, but I seems webmasters HAVE NOT been paying heed to my warning that the Walkthroughs and Strategy Guide are an original work of Video Gamer X. In fact they have downloaded the walkthrough, given me no credit whatsoever, and not even linked to my site. This makes Video Gamer X angry. I don't waste my time on Walkthroughs so that some other guy can call it his. Most of the sites I've seen it on are so crappy that I would puke. I would never put my name to something so poorly designed. Alexis Homepage (Woah, that's an original title) http://www.members.tripod.com/~ax13/ Action Taken: Will add to wall of shame page. Will add his email address to every spam group I can find. Will attempt to remove his link off the search engine. Will send him periodic derogatory letters until it is removed. Will encourage fans of this site to do same. This kind of thing infuriates me and is intolerable. If you would like to Link to the Odyssey of Hyrule that's fine, but do NOT, download the pages and include them on your own piece of trash Homepage. If this kind of thing continues I will have to take further action. I am truly disappointed in this, and hope it never happens again. The Following offender did the worst thing possible. This person duplicated the entire Odyssey of Hyrule website, deleted any reference to me, and put his name in my place. This really gets me hot. This kind of this must be stopped, and one of the best ways this can be done is by sending letters to these offending sites and getting them removed from the internet. Apparently the warning and the public display of the first violator wasn't good enough so I had to call my brother who just so happened to be a lawyer, and he said that no one can duplicate or plagarize any written work from me without my consent and that anyone trying this could be sued if I were to pursue it. He even said he'd do it for me but I said it would be a little extreme. Anyway this kind of thing is intolerable, and has to be stopped. You gamers out there can draw the line. This section has now become a repository of anti-links to cheap imitations of the this great site and I am trully sorry that this kind of thing happened. Utterly Shameful! Here are some more and pages that they took without permission. http://www.linkhouse.net/zelda64/index.htm - WalkthroughThis site decided to clean up its act on about 1/25/99 The next site made the same mistake that David, the other plagarizer, did. He decided to duplicate the Odyssey of Hyrule in it's entirety. This is really ludicrious. It is very buggy, and of very poor standards. This is definately a wall of shamer! Terrible! The Guide to The Legend of Zelda the Ocarina of Time http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Circuit/9284/index.html - This site vanished sometime in early March. - wasted people's time with fake screenshots and rumors - Here's another site that copied the page layout, the Unsolved Mysteries Page, The Background, and general structure of "The Odyssey of Hyrule" The name of the site is "TSR - The Sacred Realm." I hate to burst this guy's bubble but TSR is a copyrighted trademark of the creators of Dungeons and Dragons, Dragon Dice, etc. And he duplicated quite a few of my pages without permission. Also the site is buggy with those annoying Geocities banners popping up and JavaScript Error messages. A real piece of work this site is. - www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Lot/5600/zelda/index.htm" - The owner of this page finally decided to make his own original page. Well, here's another BIG offender for the Wall of Shame. The owner of this website duplicated everything the Odyssey of Hyrule has to offer and is claiming to be me as well as using my information for his own personal gain without my consent. He gives me, the people who found all the Zelda glitches, and the people who have written me no credit. It goes beyond the scope of reason why people do this kind of thing. It isn't that hard to make your OWN original Zelda site and not copy mine. By doing this you are wasting your and my time. He has forsaken the Zelda name with this travesty. I am personally angered by these type of people and the only place they belong is on a "Wall of Shame" This website was Zelda 64: The Ocarina of Time At address http://www2.crosswinds.net/los-angeles/~ciaspook/zelda64/ This site was taken down, and an apology was sent to me. Feel free to express your dissatisfaction with this offense! He should also be boycotted from the Zelda Top-50 he belongs to. With your assistance people like this can learn a valuable lesson about taking someone else's work as their own. Really people, if you end up on this page you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
