THE ENDING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN

If there's one thing that people complain most about Zelda 64, it is the below average ending of the game. I, personally, felt rather disappointed after working so hard and enduring such challenges along the way to becoming the legendary Hero of Time to end the game in the way I did. I expected so much more, considering the characters, the graphical capabilites of the N64, and Miyamoto's storytelling genius. After seeing the ending I thought to myself, "I could have done it so much better!" Indeed, the consensus among many gamers who have played the game thoroughly say it went out with somewhat of a whimper toward the end, and flopped completly at the ending. The way I see it we are all entitled to rewrite it the way we would have wanted it. We gamers know games, we know what we like to see in games especially Zelda, and this section is intended to exemplify the endings of the game that could have been...your endings.

Here's an overview of the ending as we know it. After defeating Ganondorf and escaping from the collapsing fortress, Zelda and Link watch as it crumbles to the ground. (This part was cool) Out of the rubble Ganondorf bursts out and roars at Link flashing his fist with the Triforce of Power illuminated. He then transforms into the infamous Piggy Ganon we're all familiar with from the Zelda games. (This was also cool) Link draws the Master Sword and Ganon knocks it out of his hands and it embeds itself into the ground in front of Zelda who is standing helpless outside of a flaming forcefield that Link cannot penetrate. Link must fight Ganon and weaken him to the point where the forcefield falls and he can retrieve the Master Sword. With the Master Sword, Link weakens Ganon , then Zelda uses the power of the Sages to drive him into the Sacred Realm. Zelda and Link float inbetween time and she uses the Ocarina to send him back in time to when he was a child, admitting it was all her fault for causing the trouble. Link returns to his childhood and leaves the Master Sword behind and Navi flies back to the magical forest of the Kokiri. The Credits show all the characters from the game dancing and partying with the sages overlooking the festivities. The Gerudos are doing the can can, and overall this is so indentical to the final scenes of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, it isn't even funny. In the very last scene we see Link walking up to Zelda in Hyrule Castle as she is peering though the window at something and she turns around startled to discover Link standing there. Link has the Triforce of Courage marked on his hand. The Screen fades to a topaz color and it says "The End" and if you wait long enough you will hear The Scarecrow's song that you made up repeated in various instruments. It wasn't that bad, but there could have been so much more.

Now it's your turn to recreate this ending the way you like it. There are tons of possiblities. Some favorites I've heard from people are, "Link rejoining the Triforce inside the Sacred Realm" to "Zelda and Link Marrying in a wedding." I could go on and on about what I would like to see, but that would spoil the fun for everyone else. So, I'll let you decide what happens. Send your creative and interesting (even funny) endings to Video Gamer X. Remember to give it a Title and include your name.

"The Better Ending"
By The Fonz

The way i think that Zelda: The Ocarina of Time should end is that after defeating Pig Ganon, Ganon should morph back into his original human state. Zelda then uses her powers of sagery to send his spirit (not his body) to the Sacred Realm. Then, in graphic detail (and upgrading the game to an higher rating) Link uses the Master Sword to chop of Ganon's cold lifeless hand and fish around in it for the Triforce of Power. Once he finds it, he tosses the remaining shreds of Ganon's hand away and walks over to Zelda. Their proximity causes the Triforces to come out of their hand, and reunite in front of them. Rauru appears in front of them, congratulating them and telling Link that he may have one wish from the triforce. Link wishes for Hyrule to return to normal, the way it was before Ganon's reign of terror. The triforce glows brightly and the screen turns white.

The Great Fairies fly over every place in Hyrule, restoring it to the way it was when you were a kid. Finally, All the Fairies fly to Ganon's Ruined Fortress, they start flying really fast in circles over it, until a bright multicoloured light appears over it. The light lands on the remains of the fortress, and the flying island falls in to the lava pit beneath it. Then, by Link's side, all of the sages appear. "This was a place of great evil," says Rauru, "It will take all of our power to purge it from the land." With that, all of the sages raise their arms, and a ball of energy (of their respective colours) appears. When they grow large enough, flashes of energy, like lasers begin shooting from them. The camera pans back, and we see that the desolate place is gradually being turned back into Hyrule castle. When its done, the screen goes white again.

When we can see again, Link, Zelda and the Sages are in Zelda's Courtyard. Link looks down at his hand, and sees that the mark of the Triforce is still there. Zelda realizes that she still has hers on her hand too. When asking Rauru what this means, he says: "Ganon is not gone, and his spirit may never be wholly destroyed. For now, though, he weak and without a body, merely a spirit with no power over the physical world. But should he ever gain a new form, and find the Triforce again, this mark will appear on your desendants hands as well. Ganon being an entity of pure evil, the Triforce will surely separate into it's three separate pieces. The crests of the Triforce will be a warning that Ganon has returned, and that the Legendary Hero of Time must preform his sacred duties once again." With that, they turn to leave. But first, Link runs into the castle, rips down the portraits of Mario, Bowser and Yoshi, and uses his Megaton Hammer to pounds them into dust. He then takes out a bomb, and blows up the tattered remenants of the unholy things. "Oh thank you!" Says Zelda, "You have no idea how much I've hated those things!" Then, they all leave.

Outside Hyrule Castle, a huge crowd (consisting of everyone featured in the game, including Biggoron towering at the back.) The drawbridge of the Castle lowers, and Zelda, Link and the Sages step out. A huge cheer erupts from the crowd, with fireworks going off in the background. The sun sets, and the party at Lon Lon Ranch begins, with a few variations from the original. Now, there is a live band, featuring Link Jr. (the goron) playing Ironknuckle Armor as drums, Zelda on Harp, Link on Ocarina, and Talon on Banjo. They play a rousing rendition of the original Overworld theme, we see everyone partying like in the original version...only doing more stuff, like a giant mosh pit...and everyone getting drunk on Lon Lon milk. Also, when the band takes a break, you can control Link again. you can go around, talk to people, save, etc.

The camera then goes to hyrule field, where we see the proprietor of the Ghost Shop sulking in the darkness, with the sounds of partying going on in the background. "Aw great!" he says, "now I'm out of a job! What am I supposed to do now, with all this disgusting "peace"? ARRGGH!!" All of a sudden, a horde of Skeletons emerge from the ground around him, and drag him screaming down into the ground.

Later, standing by the tree outside Lon Lon Ranch, Link and Zelda are talking. Zelda offers him the choice of either staying here, or returning to his original time. "Of course, if you do return to your original time, you must leave Hyrule forever. Since you now know what will take place, and the fact that there would then be two of you, you must leave to prevent a alteration of the timeline." Link chooses to go back, (this is just to make it complaint with Gaiden, actually only an idiot would go back.) and Zelda plays the Song of Time and link is transported back to his original time. The scene where Navi exits through the window would be the same. We see Link walk out of the drawbridge and onto hyrule field. The last scene we see is Link walking toward the horizon, into the sunset. We see Link disappear over the horizon, and the sun sets and night begins. The credits scroll up the screen as the camera zooms out, giving us a full shot of Hyrule field...fade to black.

"Kiss Her! Kiss Her!"
By Kel

Since I'm a girl, and adore videogames, (I even run a site devoted to that particular subject) I would of rather had a more romantic ending. When Link handed the Ocarina over to Zelda, I was practically screaming, KISS HER! KISS HER! Alas! it never happened. So this is how I would of re-ended the ending...

Well first of all I would of had Ganon still keep the Triforce of Power, it WAS kinda interesting. Then, instead of a magical trip through the clouds, Link and Zelda would be standing Temple of Time. She would go on and say all the same stuff about Ganon and blah and blah. But, she wouldn't send you back in time. Instead, you would go about your merry ways, riding Epona across the Field. Then, all the credits zoom all over Hyrule. Then the party at Lon Lon Ranch. I would of showed the Gerudo's more, I saw them like opnce in the scene. Then at the end, I would of shown Zelda and Link in the middle, getting hitched. All the sages would be there, including Rauru. Ahhhhh....satisfaction. It's not the most creative ending in the world, but I think...in fact I KNOW that most of the ladies would go for that!

"How The Ending Would Have Been Better"
BY M. Walters

The ending of Zelda 64 was surprisingly less than I expected. But when I think of it, Gaiden wasn't a decision made after Nintendo saw the astronomical sales of "Ocarina of Time". The ending was planned around the plans to make another one. Also the Scarcrow Song played in several different tones makes you think about what we've seen from the peeks at Gaiden. It is played on several different instruments. In Gaiden Link uses many instruments to transform.

But for the reason of writing. I think the ending would have been much better without Link turning back into a ten-year old. I think it would have been best if, at the end of the final fight, Ganon fell into the pit below the castle and was sucked into the middle of the lava (assumed dead untill 100 years later when he came back to steal the triforce again). Then there would be several shots of people and animals comeing out. It would go something in the way of, the castle zomies collapsing to the ground, Children danceing in the Kakariko village square, Talon and Ingo getting on horses and riding to the castle, the zoras swimming in the now melted water, the Kokiri playing in the forest, then it would cut to Mido leaving the forest (presumably to found the village named after him). Then it would show Gerudo valley. The Gerudos would be celebrating. There would be a shot of Zelda presiding as all the citizens of Hyrule are rebuilding the castle. Then the screen would go dark, and it would cut to Ganondorf stewing in the darkness. He cursed the Hylians, especially Zelda and Link. Then there would be a shot of a sinister character, maybe the gatehouse ghost collecter, or maybe a whole new character stealing some new artifact. In the end Link goes chaseing after them. He persues them north. This in turn leads to the second game.

In the sequal it would still be possible to stay in the original Hyrule, but Link would have to chase him through out the countryside stopping at new villages, seaports, crossroads, the capitals of other nations. He would, of course meet new people. The character would turn out to be more powerful than a simple burgler and it would become a epic of a game.

"The Better Ending"
By Tom Miller

Well as i would see it...this would not be the ending of the game at all...there would be still one more temple to beat...The Light Temple. Right after you beat Piggy Ganon you will be takin there (to the light Temple) bye Princess Zelda. But this temple would be a little different then the other Temples. Instead of having to use one main weapon in the temple (say...your main weapon in the Forest Temple is the Bow and Arrow)you would have to use a combination of all of them...Including the ice arrows(so now you HAVE to beat the gerudo training grounds) And every other weapon link is capabale of useing. This temple will also be different because there will be 5 mini bosses. The Bosses from the temples of forest, fire, water, spirit, and shadow. They will all be exactly the same.....but they will be each a little stronger. And then once agin you fight Ganon and Piggy Ganon. But this time they have different and more powerful attacks...and they are alot more stronger. Then you go to the the real ending sequence. You will meet up w/ Zelda..get the whole triforce...and Hyrule will be back to normal..like it was when link was a kid. And I would make it so that you COULD save it when you beat the game. Bye the way...Great site!!!!!!!!! i can't say the enough!..Thanx for putting so much time into this!!!

"A Link to the Sequels"
By James Lincoln

My changes in the ending would start way back to the part where Link is in the temple of time and Ganondorf's booming voice says something to the effect of "I let you get this far..." That would be ommitted, it spoiled the feel of the game. Everything else up to ganon's ballroom door can stay in the game except the rainbow path to Ganon's castle, that was kinda gay looking. I guess I'll let that slide though. Ganondorf playing the piano was totally cool and I would not have changed that, however after he turned around and said his lines this is what should have happened:

Ganondorf unsheathes a large glowing sword with which he challenges Link to what proves to be the most difficult fencing match in the game (alla Prince of Persia if you ever played that game). It is a truely well met match in which Link is forced to (at length, and with great difficulty) swipe, slice and stab each of Ganondorf's 20 green hearts away before he is bested by his desert adversary. After Ganondorf looses in a match closely met with Link the castle falls down as usual and the entire final fight sequence occurs as it does in the game. GANON is then banished away as he was before.

Next comes the credits sequence: Link walks with Zelda to the temple of time as the credits roll, as they walk they look unhappily at the destroyed city around them. They enter the temple and together return the master sword to the pedestal causing them both to return to their child hoods. Just before the blue light goes rushing up Zelda gives Link a peck on the cheek. As he looks up surprised at her, she turns away bashfully...Whoosh! They are back in the past. Zelda now a little girl again runs out blushing. Softly (credits still rolling) the "Classic Zelda" music begins to play. It builds as Link begins to walk out of the Temple of time; droping his weapons and jewelry that he has gathered along the way. As he passes through the market the music grows more intense. He walks up to the castle gate where Impa stands to greet him: "Welcome brave one," she says, "I have met a man who claims to have known your mother. In fact, he is your uncle. He wishes to meet with you and take you in at his home just east of Kakariko Village." She marks your map and you pass through the gate. (Seen fades out.) The music is now changes to that of the sacred realm, where we see Ganon trapped in Pig form screaming his vengance, and how he will once again be made free. (Fades back) We see Link approaching Zelda in the courtyard once again (Complete silence) where she is spying through the window as before...only this time it is not Ganondorf kneeling before the King, but rather the Wizard Aganimh, swearing his allegiance to the Hylians. Zelda looks to Link worried and says, "I fear I will be needing your help again..." The Classic music starts playing again as Dark clouds begin to move over the castle. The Ending scene is of young Link staring into the sky worried, yet courageous of his adventures to come...

"Restoration of Glory"
By John Lockwood

All stays the same in till right after Ganondorf's dialog at the organ. Then Ganon draws a sword, moves toward you and a fight ensues without removing all of the room scenery like in the actual game. It is a sword fight but with occasion magic attacks from Ganon (which can still be reflected but move at great speeds). When Ganon is defeated the castle still callapses and you still battle the pig form of Ganon. It again stay's the same Ganon and the Triforce of Power are trapped in the sacred ream.

This is where it really differs, Link and Zelda walk out into the market ruins. Zelda expresses her feelings of guilt and regret about causing all the destruction and carnage. She then takes Link's hand with hers, both are the hands with the triforce symbol. She brings her hand along with Link's up above there heads were they faintly began to glow. Everything fades out to white and reappears as it was when Link was young (yet this is still the same time period). The same then happens with Gannon's castle rubble. It then cuts to Kakariko Village were the man in blue who usually stand under the tree in the village runs in to the village and tells the other guy of the reconstruction of the market he says yea right but follows him anyway. Then back at the market you see not only those guys but all the former residents of the market come on to the scene. Then it goes to Lon Lon ranch for a party with Link talking to Malon and Zelda wearing crown. The sages land on death mountain and watch the sun rise. It then fades out to see Link thusting the Master sword into the pedistull of time (without sending him back in time) and asks if you'd like to save.

Saving it allows you to play after end of the game. There is nothing left to do, maybe you should still be able to look for gold skultula's, the last few heart pieces, or big poes but mostly to talk to they people with new dialog and to bask in your triumph.

"Link the King"
By SSJMatto

I think the Zelda 64 ending should be like this: Before Ganon is sent to the Sacred Realm, Zelda extracts the Triforce Of Power from him. He is then sent into the Sacred Realm. Link and Zelda walk up to the Triforce of Power, and their Trifroces come out. Zelda looks at Link and says make a wish. Link wishes for The Castle and market to be restored. A golden beam of light shoots out from the triforce, and then covers the area where the castle used to be and the ruined market. The market and the people who were turned into ReDeads return to normal, but the poe buyer stays the same. Then then the land where Ganon's Castle was lands in the lava. The Castle is then restored. Zelda turns to Link and asks if he will marry her. Link says yes, and the screen fades out. Link and Zelda are standing in front of the altar in the Temple Of Time, and Rauru is marrying them, and making them take marriage vows from The Book of Mudora, which he wrote. Mido is Link's best man, and Impa, Malon, and Saria are Zelda's bride's mades. Everyone else in Hyrule(except the poe man) are in pews that have been set up. Rauru says you may now kiss the bride, Hero of Time, and Link and Zelda kiss. Link becomes the new King, and Zelda becomes Queen. The screen then fades, and we see the poe man in his shop. He yells, "Curse you Link. You will never be able to defeat I or my master, Ganondorf, ever! Feel the wrath of Agahnim!" But before the poe man(who turns out to be Agahnim) can cast the spell, a portal opens below him and sucks him into the Sacred Realm. Then the screen fades, and gives a view of all of Hyrule. The goddesses fly over the land, and spell out The End in red, green, and blue.

"A Much Better Ending"
By Pizazz

I have a few ideas and suggestions for the ending to Zelda 64:

1) First of all, Zelda putting her hand on Link's hand doesn't really cut it with me (I would like to see a bit more emotion, I am a girl). It would be a lot cooler if they kissed. Every time I see the end, I know that they're not going to, but I still feel like screaming "Kiss her damn it!".

2) Another thing I hate about the ending is that just to see that cool cinematic, we have to watch the credits and *shudder* hear Malon or Zelda or whoever that is sing.

3) If Nintendo still really didn't want them to kiss, they could become blood siblings. If you don't know what that is, I will put a little explanation at the end of this e-mail.

Okay, here is my ending:

After Link gives the final blow to the Pig Ganon, Ganon loses the Triforce of Power. He is then sealed away in the Sacred Realm. The Triforces of Courage and Wisdom shoot out of Zelda and Link. The Triforce comes together and the voices of Din Farore and Nayru float out of the Triforce. They thank Link for restoring peace to the world they had created, and as a reward change Hyrule back. The Triforce then returns to the Sacred Realm. Next we see that part with Zelda and Link talking, only it's some place we know (Temple of Time etc.) and Link keeps the Ocarina of Time (reward from Zelda). Before the credits, we see that party at Lon Lon Ranch. Only this time, Link and Zelda are at the party (as adults). Mido will apologize to Link for being so mean and for blaming Link about the little Deku Tree incident. After a few more minuets of dancing, Zelda and Link move off to the the side. Zelda thanks Link for everything, followed by a nice kiss as multi-coloured fire-works go off behind them. Link and Zelda remain in the same place, only the outfits and background change to a wedding in the middle of Hyrule field. The camera pans slowly up to the sky, where Navi is. She flies around the screen, her pixie dust forming the words 'The End'. Navi then flies into the screen. The screen goes black and the credits roll like the credits in a movie while playing the songs of various places, dungeons and the ocarina songs like the Ice Cavern, Gerudo Valley and (as always) Zelda's Lullaby. Once you go back to playing the game, there will be a new door somewhere in the Temple of Time (like the Door of Time). When you play the Song of Time in front of it, it will open to a small hallway where you have to kill a Stalfos. After killing the Stalfos, a door will appear on the other side of the room. This door will lead to the Light Temple. There will be six different sections to the Light Temple (forest, fire, water, shadow and spirit). The final boss would be a mix of all the other bosses. After beating the final boss, you can go into the next room where you find the Triforce. That's my ending. It's pretty long, but I hope you like it. See 'ya!

blood siblings: Link would make a cut in his hand and Zelda would make a cut in her hand. They would then stick their bleeding hands together, allowing each others blood to flow into the other person. it would then leave Zelda with some of Link's blood in her, and Link with some of Zelda's blood in him.

"The Ending That Could Have Been"
By Challenger

The game proceeds until after the fight with Ganon, second form. After you beat him, Zelda raises her hands. In the Sacred Realm, you see the Sages raise their hands. Seven laser-like lights collide and form a multi-colored ball. The ball hits Ganon. A huge flash follows, and the screen goes white. You see Ganon, screaming against a black background. A bar of Red, Blue, and Green light circles around him. The screen returns to Ganon's Castle. Link raises the Medallions. They send huge streaks of light at the ruins of Ganon's Castle. The light hits, and the ruins explode. The Great Faires shoot out into the sky. The camera warps to different parts of Hyrule. In Kakairko, the rain in the graveyard stops. In the Market, the Redeads stagger and fall, and the buildings rebuild instantly. In Lake Hylia, the Scarecrows move about. In Zora's Domain, the ice melts. In Gerudo valley, the fortress becomes pristine white, and a new flag flies from the top. In Kokiri forest, the Deku Tree sprout grows to full height, and the Moblins vanish from the Lost Woods. The camera returns to Ganon's Castle. Link tosses the Medillons to the ground. They begin to glow, and circle rapidly around the area. Hyrule caste is restored. The party is the same at Lon Lon ranch. But now, the Gerudo's are playing flutes, while the Goron's bang on drums, and Biggoron bangs on Bongo-Bongo's drum. The Sages each stand in their own rooms, and the credits begin to roll. Link walks to the Temple of Time. He thrusts the sword back. He is a kid again, yet all the changes in Hyrule(i.e. the Gerudo's Fortress now white and the Sprout at full height) remain. You see Zelda in the courtyard, eating something, and smiling. Link returns to the Kokiri forest, and Mido apolgizes and Link is now head of the Kokiri. You see Impa watching him, she vanishs just as Link turns around. In the last screen, you see Ganon. The Triforce mark on his hand is pulsing....the screen fades to black.

"No More Navi!"
By Kristen Kernats

As we all know, the ending to Ocarina of Time really sucked; but the game was good, and I'm keeping everything the same up until we see Gannon playing the organ. Link walks into the room were Zelda is trapped in the pink rupee thing, and sees Zelda staring down at Navi because she's flying around the room making an annoying buzzing noise.Gannon messes up on a note and screams DOH (very Homer Simpson like), and stares at Navi, annoyed. Finally Link get's really agrivated with Navi, and chops her in half. Then Gannon turns back to the organ and starts to play. Link, confused, charges at Gannon. Gannon turns around and quickly says"These toys are to much for you!!" and the purple "Waves of Darkness" thingies come out of his hand, freezing Link, giving Gannon enough time to get ready to fight. You fight Gannon almost the same way, but he flies right in front of Zelda, and if you hit her with a Light Arrow you have to start the game all over. After that you have to run out of the castle with Zelda the exact same way, only you have 2 1/2 seconds to do it.When (if heh heh heh) you get out of the castle you have to fight Pig Gannon again, only you can't use any of your weapons. You have to run around in circles and get Pig Gannon really tired. If your to slow he'll eat you. After that you have to fight the damn ghost who keeps bringing Gannon to life. If you don't beat him the first time you have to beat Gannon (Gannon, then pig, then ghost) 9,999,999 times to complete the game. The ghost is made of fart so you have chase him into the fire so he'll blow up. Now Gannon's never to return to Hyrule. Then the Triforce of Power comes out of the Gannon ashes, and Zelda and Link's Triforce comes out of their hands and joins the Triforce of Power. Then Zelda and Link get ready to run, because they want the Triforce to themselves. The camra move slowly sideways showing first Link, then Zelda, and that famous western tune plays ( dooo dooooo dooo, dooo dooooo dooo) then they dash towards the Triforce, and Link got it. Rathe loudly the Tiforce says "Yaaaa, whad'ya want!?" then Link says "I wish for unlimited wishes!" then the Triforce says "Yaaaaa comein' right up" *Special efect* blinding white light covers the whole screen. Then Link and Zelda are at Lon Lon Ranch partying hard, and getting drunk. *This is when you can save* after that Zelda asks you if you want to go back to your child hood. If you pick yes you get to play the game all over again. If you pick no you have six more (long) adventures (including Zelda and Link getting hitched!).

"The New Battlefield and the Mysterious Figure"
By Xizormc

At the end of the game when you beat human ganon, instead of running down the castle, you have to use a series of falling and grabbing on to ledges(due to the door getttin covered with ruble). you get to an open door and run down you don't waste any time getting out because the castle is collapsing already when you get near the end.

When you get out the castle is gone in seconds you and zelda go back to the temple of time you put back the master sword and you and zelda return to kids when you get back a dark figure comes through the door you and zelda now kids back away. The figure is Ganon! He runs at you you turn and grab the master sword all of you are travel to the future.

The warp has evil in it and you get transported to the sage room fight in the sage room. After you beat him as human again he changes to all the bosses and to beat him you have to stand on the medallion of that dungeon and shoot him withh a light arrow 3 times and then his origanal weakness.

After this you fight pig gannon you defeat him like normal. His body starts to turn blue after the second last hit. He collapses and you chop his hand off taking his triforce. The triforces are joined together and you are granted one wish. It is to bring hyrule back to normal. Gannon gets up bledding(man he just wont stop will he) and Link and Zelda have their backs turned he brings up his hand with the sword and brings it down. But before Link is hit an arrow goes through his hand Link hears him roar and turns striking him down for good.

The arrow had a note on it that said: From your gaurdian sheik.

Zelda was standing there so who is this Sheik? Another arrow hits and the note on it says you will meet me some day Link my son.

"Expressing My Disappointment"
By _HTR

hmm... Even though I enjoy the emotional cinematics, it probably IS better that Link and Zelda didn't end up jumping all over each other in the ending movie. 1.- It kinda ruins the whole feel of the game. Zelda resting her delicate hands on Link's strong ones while looking as though she would break down in tears was rather touching, and I feel it was much better suited for the ending. 2.- Most people forget that, although Link has a body around 17 years old, he still has a ten year old mind. Nasty. 3.- If some 9-year old girl were playing and named Link 'Emily' or 'Jessica' or something like that, (I know it's stupid, I and everyone I know always titles their files 'Link', it's just an example.) It would be rather embarrasing when he/she would be making out with Zelda in the ending credits. Alright, Ganon even surprised ME when I beat him in about ten minutes. It was like: target, fire, slash, retreat, repeat. It disappointed me. as for the Mini Medallion dungeons-they were a big_fat_joke. Also, in the collapsing tower bit, it takes even the most easily distracted person half the time they give you to get out. I was expecting to escape mere seconds before the whole thing caved in! Zelda squealed like a guinea pig whenever you were hit; and when you actually WERE hit, (Ganon was WAY too slow) it only took away about 3/4 of a heart. The force field surrounding the platform caused me more damage than he did! The ending- The ending was rather disappointing. the glory of the game, through, over and done- so you could watch the Gerudos doing the can can. While the game itself gave off a rich, thick feeling that wrapped around my brain like tendrils and held me there, poised with the controller in my hand and my eyes locked on the screen, hardly daring to blink for fear I may miss something, the dancing bit was just annoying. Simply annoying. I know some people liked it, (If it was you, I sincerely apologize and beg for mercy: You are the God of all gamerz.) I liked The Fonz's idea (On the 'Your Endings' section of the site) of Link chopping off Ganon's dead hand and ripping it apart to reunite the Triforce and restore Hyrule. However, I know from experience that it's better to be able to endure the boss again than nothing at all, as was the case in Banjo-Kazooie. After defeating the witch, (Who was actually about 12 times as hard as Ganon) you can save, but then all you can do in that file is wander around, lament on how you can do absolutely nothing and look for glitches. Also, people continuously write complaints that there isn't enough medieval language use in Zelda besides the Deku Tree- It's actually better there isn't. It would be too hard to understand for some people; I, for one, would be shaking my fist at the screen and shouting, "screw ye!"

"Somewhat Disturbing Ending"
By Tiara

I liked the ending up to the part were Zelda and Link are standing in the clouds. I would've had them standing in the middle of the ruins of Ganandorfs castle, shocked at what Ganandorf has just said, that as long as he has the triforce of power, he will come back and get their descendants.

Zelda asks Link if he thinks that Ganandorf can really do it, and Link tells her he doesn't know. He then comes close and kisses her, and the screen fades to black. when it returns, their is that party scene in Lon-Lon Ranch.

Everything stays the same their except for the Gerudos are seen more, and Mido joins in to dance with them. the screen then goes to the great fairy fountains, were the fairies awake, join together, and with a burst of light, return Hyrule to the way it normally should've been.

The last sequence in the game is of Zelda and Link sitting in the garden at Hyrule castle and Epona is trotting around in and out of the scene, with her colt. We see Link and Zelda talking to a little boy who looks like Link, telling him stories of how Link awoke the sages, and with Zelda's help, beat Ganandorf, the evil King.

The little boy jumps on Epona's colt, and rides into Hyrule field, where he sees a dark, looming figure, who beckons him to come closer, and as the boy does, he falls through a warp hole into another dimension.

Then "The End" comes on the screen, followed by the Disturbing, "Or is it"

"The Triforce!"
By MBZurawski

I agree with you, I think the ending of Zelda was very depressing. I was looking forward to something more than just the credits and a dumb bonfire! Plus making Link give back the ocarina, what a Jerk! I think she should have atleast asked Link if he wanted to return to his original state. and what's with the clouds in the air! But, enough of what I thought went wrong, here's my ending.

Link beats Ganon, and Zelda suddenley vanishes into thin air. Link looks around like he looked around in in the Shadow Temple when the boat floating in midair moves. He's stunned. Suddenley a mystical sound rings the air and a gigantic golden ship with a triforce symbol comes out of a roaring sea. The sky is a thick Midnight Blue and stars twinkle brightly. Waves splash aginst the ship as it makes it's way towards a distant island. Zelda is standing on the deck of the ship with her dress blowing in the wind.

The view flashes back to where Link's standing on Ganons tower. Ganon transforms back into Ganondorf (he's still not dead!) and makes a move towards Link. He just barely grasps Link's tunic when a wave drowns him. Before it drowns Link a multi colored string of light reaches him. All of the sages except for Zelda and Rauru are tugging on the string with all their might. A white light fills the screen and then we can see Link floating on a cloud. Link is still knocked out from the fall when Ganon pulled him down. The sages had turned into little balls of different colored light and were pulling Link to the ship.

When they arrive at the ship the sages have different colored glowing paddles. They go to row the boat and leave Link and Zelda alone. Link recovers. Zelda says sadly that she has something important which she must tell Link.

"We are traveling in the Sea of the Sages, Link. It is a place that you will not return, but there is another place you will not return. Take a look, Link." Link looks below the glowing paddles of the ship. He is looking straight into the Sacred Realm buried beneath the dephs of the Sea! He gasps, and Zelda nods slowly.

"It is the only way to trap Ganon in the Sacred Realm forever. He cannot escape, but the Sages belong there. Without that power source we are left no choice but to sacrifice one of us. There is an Eighth Sage Link, but this sage will only be unveiled by the sacrifice of another Sage. The eighth Sage will lead you to your destiny, whatever that might be, and so it is for the best."

Link looks around at the Sages as if to see one disappear at any moment. Sudenley Rauru comes bursting out of the water riding Jabu Jabu. "I shall leave you now, Link. Take care of Zelda, she is my daughter along with Risna, the eighth sage of glory." With a sudden splash he disappears beneath the waves into the Sacred Realm.

At that exact moment the owl comes flying towards the ship and swoops back to the Distant shore. From the owl a woman appears carrying Malon in her arms. She is running towards them from the island. The Sages disappear waving and Link and Zelda walk off the Ship together hand in hand.

The woman smiles. " I am sorry that I had to come in such a silly disguise, but I meant to help you on your quest. You have used my horse Epona very well Link. I believe you are worthy of my little Sister's hand in marriage." Zelda smiles and Eponas song can be heard ( being sung from Malon's mother Risna who is also the Eighth sage) as Zelda and Link run through Hyrule Field saying Hi to all their old friends. They then run up to Hyrule Castle, push the guards out of their way and meet in the courtyard where they first met. Everyone's at the ceremony. The Poe Trader's selling fresh bottled Poes and other refreshments and Malon throws Flowers and Deku nuts down the aisles. Then Risna speaks up.

"Do you, Princess Zelda take link to be your Hero of Time, and the New King of Hyrule taking our Fathers place?" Zelda says she does and they both kiss as pictures of Kokiri's running out of the Forest freely fill the screen.

"My Zelda 64 Ending"
By DrewB1279

Hi, After having read everyone's ending ideas, I felt like I wanted to submit my version. Here goes:

When Link has built the Raindows Bridge to Ganon's Castle, after having crossed the bridge at the doorway, Ganon should have thrown a huge thunder bolt to wreck the bridge then let out a loud evil laughter, HAHAHAHAHAHA! Fools! Did you meddlesome sages would think I would let (your file name here) turn back ?"

(I thought the above part would have heightened the sense of drama a la Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back)

Then Ganon rose the Castle even higher and higher into the sky! Then Link would proceed to finish the seven barriers that prevented him from entering the Tower then he proceeds to finish off the Iron Knuckles clones then he finally meets up with the King of Evil. Just after He stops playing the organ then turns around then says, "Welcome to my Throne room, Hero of Time, I have been waiting for you for long seven years since that fateful day where you unlocked the portal to the Sacred Realm...." then He does his usual, "These toys are too much for you" Then the fight begins only Ganon would be more stronger and less unpredictable (like, give him more A.I.) then he would have a new trick a la Agahaim's "Three Clones Trick" (Sort of to set up a cliche relation between Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past) then he's defeated then the castle crumbles as normal then Ganon's in his "Piggy Ganon" mode then when Link delivered the final blow to Piggy Ganon then the Triforce of Power came out of Ganon's hand then the last two pieces of the Triforce also come out of Zelda and Link's hand to fuse together then the completed Triforce flies into the sky then we see the spirits of the Goddesses come alive then they say, "You have done well, (your file name), the Sages, you may now imprison the King of Evil" Then Zelda does the normal cues then we cut to the Sages cinematic scenes as normal then when they opened the portal, we see a white ray touch on where the body of Ganon (it would still stay in its piggy form) then the ray picks it up like a tornado then the body quickly goes toward where the Triforce is floating. Then the body disappears then we cut to where Ganon is spinning around, cursing at everybody who defeated him, swearing revenge as normal then he disappears into the background. Then the spirits of the Goddesses says, "As a reward for defeating the King of Evil, We shall restore the land of Hyrule to what it once was...." Then the Triforce began to pulse really fast then it started to spin very fast then the thunders is heard, then it starts to rain very hard then we cut to Hyrule Field, we see flowers begin to blossom then we cut to Lake Hylia, we see the water in the Lake become even more richer then we cut to Zora's Domain we see the water melts then we cut back to Ganon's castle then the Triforce spins very fast then it starts to emit a powerful golden ray then the golden ray touches ganon's island then a great golden bubble engulfs where the Hyrule Castle used to be then we see the sky become blue again then the golden ray disappears, then what was left of Ganon's castle is once again Hyrule Castle but This time it's a different castle! The new Hyrule Castle is that from Link to the Past! They are in the courtyard, as adults. the rain stops raining then the sky is beautiful blue! then we see the spirits of the Goddesses one last time as they say, "Hyrule is once again beautiful but now it is even better but, the Triforce needs to go back to the Sacred Realm....it is its resting place....Hyrule would not be the right resting place because of people with the thirst of greed...." Then the Spirits disappear then the Triforce disappears into the Sacred Realm.

(That part was necessary to link to Link of the Past considering that the future Link obtained all three pieces at once in LTTP)

Then Zelda sees an elderly old man dressed in the royal style walking out of the darkness into the courtyard then says, "Is that you, father ?" then the King with a warmhearted voice, "Yes it is me, Princess Zelda..." then Zelda begins to cry out of happiness then runs to embrace her father! She says quietly, "I missed you, father." Zelda then says, "This is (your filename), the Hero of Time who saved the land of Hyrule!" then the King tells Link that he is always welcome to Hyrule Castle regardless of both past and present!

Then we cut to the party scenes only expanded, there should be several cuts to the Market, The Gerudo Fortress, Lake Hylia, and Zora's Domain to see people rejoicing in the celebrations with the festive music playing in the background. The Royal Family is presiding over the main festivities in Lon Lon Ranch. (In a funny moment), Kids line up to get Link's autograph. Then we cut to the normal scene of all the six sages.

Then we cut to Young Link coming out of the Blue light at the alter in the Temple of Time, showing that he has gone back seven years ... then we fast forward to a few days before the storyline of LTTP began, we see an old woman tell the story of Ocarina of Time to several kids then she closes a really really old book then we cut to the Master Sword in the Lost Woods then Navi (she's immortal) flies across the screen revealing the words, "To Be Continued..."

"The TRUE Ending-Beginning?"
By Nabooru The Spirit Sage

Hello, as you may have guessed, My name is Nabooru. Any person who knows the game well enough will know who I am. And I'm here to tell you about how the true ending, or shall I say Beginning went.

The Japanese must have fell asleep just when they were making the end of the game! They forgot what REALLY happened! Sure, they had almost the whole thing right until that point. When zelda sent the owl to Japan to give them the story of what was going on over there, it made that Nintendo rule. but now I know we should have sent Link into the future himself to let him program the game. You see, That ending on Zelda? How dare they change it from what was writen down? Here's the REAL story:

Well, you know how it all started. The farie named Navi went into the Kokiri forest only to awaken the kid who apparently had been up too late the other night dreaming of how one day he would ave Hyrule, he even had sketched on his tree a rather porely drawn monster in which he was fighting. But we all know Link wasn't meant to be an artist. He was, and as he still is the Hero of Time. He saved the whole world--not just Hyrule. He, unlike that poor excuse for a hero, Mario, or that stupid over size lizard in whom PROBABLY had good relationships with Barney back in their prehistoric days. No hero out there was as brave and coragous as Link is. Link who saved Hyrule, and the world. Most of you game players call it the end. But its only the end of the beginning, as Link had much more in store for him. After sealing up the evil, well..FINE ILL SAY IT, the evil ..Gerudo *gasps at the unfortunate knowledge that Ganondorf was that* ..Link didn't want to go back in time. He wanted to stay as an adult, as he felt stronger. But then he realized that Saria, the girl in whom he loved from the beginning was a Kokiri. He wanted to marry her (and marrage at 10 was alloud in Hyrule if granted permittion by a member of the royal family. Link wanted to be a kid so that he can spend as much time of his life with Saria as possible. When he asked Zelda to make him a kid again, Zelda asked why, because she knew his reason for wanting to be an adult, but not for a kid. His responce turned her curious face into a bit of a depressed one. She had liked Link a bit too, but she knew that it wasn't the thing for her. She had to marry only those chosen by the king. The king knew that this was the Hero of Time, but for some reason didn't think he was the type for her. He pictured him as more the fighting type. He knew that Link belonged with his long known friend. Link was sent back 7 years, and though it was back in time, the future, and what Link had done was remembered. The Marrage was held by the Deku Tree Sprout. All but one sage was there. All those Link had met were there. All the Gerudo, remaining Sheikah, Kokiri, Hyleans, Gorons, and Zoras (with the acception of one) ..they were all there. Rauru took the place as a priest normally would. The Royal Family had their own places. Navi carried the Ring (All that she could carry), Darunia was the Best Man, I, Nabooru, was the Maid of Honor. Malon as the flower Girl. Impa had arranged it all. Malon and her father let the party be held at their Ranch after words. Everyone in Hyrule was invited. Everyone went, even the ghost of Dampe, all there--All but one, in whom showed up seconds before the Groom and Bride had kissed. "STOP!" she demanded. "AS THE SAGE OF WATER, I ORDER YOU TO STOP THIS WEDDING IMMEDIATLY!" ..Somewhat of a joke being that the other sages were there, one being the bride. But Links eyes opened widely as he remembered--The Engagement he had made. Saria knew about it, as she knew Link had to if he wanted the spiritual stone he needed. Saria had thought she forgot though. "You didn't believe I would forget, did you Link? It wasn't that long ago we were engaged--for you that is! You passing up time within a 7 year period, as if nothing had happened at all! Well Link, Saria can just clean up the place when the party is over, because WE are getting married! You promised!" ..Saria's eyes grew from her sweet, green, calm state, to huge, angry red eyes--she was madder than even I when I had recovered from the spell only to find out two idiot witches had casted me under one. I stood up, glared at Saria and said, "Hah! This wedding has been aready aranged! Not even the best theif in Hyrule could steal Link away from Saria. ..well not that I had any intention" ..Darunia cut in supporting me, "Yes! These twoare like soul mates, they were ment to be!" Ruto then made a joking comment, "Yah you only want your 'sworn brother' to marry the sage of forest so you can dance to the song entitled with her name all you want, until your sick of it!" .."ILL NEVER BE SICK OF THAT SONG!" Darunia immdiatly snapped. Ruto was about to continue the argument she was now abou to enjoy, when Impa warned, "If you two don't stop and let this wedding continue, I will find it in my power to bring back Bonga Bonga and force you both to be ceiled on that drum of his! Link gasped memory of that thing. "I've worked too hard on this wedding, and I'm not going to let you ruin it Ruto. Now sit down!" Ruto was almost as angrey as Saria was but managed to control her temper, as she grudgely took her seat. The wedding continued and finally ended. The after party took place at the Ranch, and Link and his new Wife went on a honey moon in the Forest Temple--which turned out to be more of an adventure than any romantic event you probbably would expect. and that's how it went for quite awhile, well until some stupid masked kid from the forest decided to run off with Epona.

"Link Is That You?"
By CJericoWin

As Link strikes the final blow into Ganon, he gives a mighty cry of victory. Light streams from the wounds of Ganon. Link shields his eyes from the blinding light emergings from the gaping wound in Ganon's skull, the light fills the screen.

Link finds himself back in the Temple of Time, the sword stuck in the pedestal, and a child once again. He looks at both of his hands, and hears a noise behind him. It's Rauru, the sage, a bit younger though, maybe black instead of grey hair.

"Link, you've battle well," he says. "You've awakened the sages and saved Hyrule from a certain doom. I thank you, and Hyrule owes you it's deepest gratitude."

Close up on Link's face, then back to Rauru.

"Hyrule's peace has been restored at last...for now. Part of the Triforce is still obtained by Ganondorf. But as long as you and the Princess Zelda hold the other two pieces, Hyrule is safe."

Link walks down the steps to the floor, and faces Rauru.

"You must be wondering about Zelda. She is in her courtyard I believe. Where you two first met. I believe she must be expecting you."

Close up of Link's face, then a shot of Link taking off out of the Temple. Close up on Rauru's face.

"That boy...he is indeed the chosen one."

Cut to the scene of the courtyard, where Zelda is sitting on the steps. She looks up, to see Link running in.

"Link!" she says. She stands up, and the two embrace.

"Link...you've saved Hyrule from that evil man in black. You were indeed the boy with the shining stone...that spiritual stone...Link...there is something you must know."

Link hears footsteps, and turns around to see Rauru. "I'd like you to meet my father, Rauru, the Ancient Sage of Light, and King of Hyrule!"

"Yes, it is true Link. When Zelda ran off with the Ocarina of Time, I had no choice but to ask Ganondorf for help. And when he betrayed me, I was helpless. He destroyed our armies, and turned Hyrule into a wasteland. So, I began a mission to find the Hero of Time! That's you, Link!"

Zelda disembraces from Link and walks with Rauru to the top of the small staircase in the courtyard.

"Go now, Link, we can talk later...there is one waiting for you," Rauru says.

Link runs from the courtyard, and there is a shot of Link running back to the old bridge in the Lost Woods. Dramatic music plays, as Saria is seen sitting against the side of the bridge.

She turns to Link. "Link? Is that you...?"

"Link...we are waiting for you! We've heard from Rauru that your destiny is to be the Hero of Time! We're all waiting for you, Link!"

Saria stands up, and runs into Kokiri forest. Link runs after her, and you hear the familiar laugh of Ganondorf...the camera swings around to show Ganondorf upon his horse with two Gerudo women.

"This is not the end, boy...this is just the beggining..."

Ganondorf raises a fist, you see the outline of the Triforce piece on his hand.

"A Link To The Future"
By Andrew

OK, well if you've read the beginning of the Link to the Past manual you know that at the end of the Imprisoning War (which is when the Ocarina of Time is taking place), Ganon was sealed into the Sacred Realm/Golden Land/Dark World still holding the Triforce of Power. So this is how I would have ended it. Have Ganon get sealed into the Sacred Realm still holding the Triforce. Do everything the same up until the scene where Link and Zelda are standing on the clouds. When Zelda tells Link that he must return to his own time, have him refuse, saying "my place is here with you" or something like that (have him actually say something other than "yes" or "no"). Have Link and Zelda get married (the most overused idea I'm sure). This would make Link to the Past's storyline fit a little better. That way, the line of the Knights would continue through Link.

"Link Gets The Girl"
By Kyle Smith

I think zelda is one of the best games ever made but the ending left to many things a mystery. if i made the ending it wouldn't be much better but there's one thing that should have DEFINITELY happened, Link didn't get the girl (any of em). so this is my ending.

After link fights Ganon Zelda shoots the magick light out of her hands and paralyzes Gannon. It goes to the cut scene of the sages lifting up their hand only this time they channel all of their power to the Master Sword. Link lifts up the sword now glowing with a mystic light and strikes gannon with left and right blows Gannon pulls back in pain and through his head forward ready to bite link in two but is met halfway with The Master Sword. The screen fades white around Gannon who now transformed back to Gannondowrf. he looks around "curse you sages........ curse you Zelda..........Curse you Link, Curse You......" the screen fades white. LInk and Zelda are still on Gannons final battle ground. Zelda does that my fault thing but dosnt ask for the ocarina after their done talking gold sparks fall from the sky zelda looks up to see The castle towering above her. it goes to the credits of all the abandoned places. and then goes to Lon Lon all the characters are there dancing and singing and partying. then it shows link zelda and all of the sages (even raru) standing in the temple of time, the sages say good bye and leave, so link and zelda are standing at the temple of time. she says you know what you must do put the master sword to rest, take the kokiri Emerald, give the other two back to there owners.....Good bye Link.." they look IM each others eyes and kiss. link walks up to the pedestrial of time and puts the master sword back into place he is transported back to his child hood Navi flies off and he turns around to see Zelda Standing there "Hello Link"

"The Second Ending"
By Kitty The Great

After you have defeated Ganon and all that other yata, changing time back and all that other junk. At that big party at Lon Lon Ranch Link and Zelda (as kids) are there with every one else. Now than rather than the Sages going to Death Mountain, we can see at the top of that really high tower at Lon Lon Ranch. At the top is Sheik kneeling over so he can see the party down there better, on his back is the Master Sword and flying beside him is Navi. Sheik winks at her and she bounces up and down (kind of her way of winking back). (The Sheik we see is not Zelda though, the way this goes Zelda was never Sheik he just brings her to the Temple of Time to see Link and Sheik goes back to where it is he came from till the end of the story.) Sheik stands up and disappears with Navi, like he always does to Link. Zelda gives Link a nudge because he is looking at where Sheik was a minute ago. She asks what he is looking at, Link tells her that he thought he saw Sheik and Navi up there. Zelda just tells him he has been looking at the fire too long. (the story could end there or it could go on, but I'm going to add just some more to it so that there could be some kind of sequel or another adventure) Sheik and Navi reappear at the Temple of Time, Sheik walks up to the Door of Time, we see the Triforce of Power on his hand (we asume that he gets it after Ganon destruction). He pulls out the Ocarina of Time and plays the Song of Time and closes the Door of Time. He and Navi walk out of the temple and off into Hylrule field credits rolling as they walk along stopping at places like Zora's Domain and Goron City to see them returning to normal. And finaly they get to where the land of Hyrule ends going off into some other unknow lands. They take one last look at Hyrule and head off in to the new land in the horizon taking with them many secrets and the Ocarina of Time so no one can open the Door of Time, even though the Spiraltal Stones are there, and they have the Master Sword.

"New Horizons"
By Ryan Lecocq

fter Gannondorf and Ganon are destroyed, link uses the triforce to restore Hyrule (of course) and returns the ocarina to Zelda. The entire "return to past" sequence is removed. The camera sweeps around a "shortly thereafter" view of Hyrule and finally stops in the castle courtyard. Several children are seen looking through the castle window, inside you see Queen Zelda standing on a pedestal in the throne room, Link is kneeled with his sword presented. As the children in the courtyard spy on the scene, Link sees them and smiles before turning back to the queen. Link presents the Master Sword to Zelda, who places it in a pedestal in honor of the the Hero of Time.

The scene changes to outside the drawbridge, Link mounts Epona while Zelda stands to one side, Link rides off towards the sunset and stops on the horizon, where Epona stands on hind legs, Link holds the Biggoron sword aloft and the sun glints on it's blade. Link smiles and rides off into the sunset as the music used at the title screen plays. Zelda, ocarina in hand, turns and walks back into courtyard to the cheering of citzens of Hyrule. Final "The End" image is that of Link standing atop a hill with the wind in his hair, gazing out upon the land of Hyrule as the sun rises in the background.

"My Ending to Zelda"
By Joshua W. E.

After striking the final blow to Ganon, He wails and moans, then his body burns away into Ganon, who is badly burnt. The sages turn into beams of light just like in the regular ending, but then they fire into Ganondorfs chest. There is a large flash of light, and then we see the Triforce Piece of Power in Link's hand, next to the Triforce Piece of Courage. Then Navi says "Link...Look!!" She flies over and we see Ganondorf has turned to stone. Then the island begins to shake and crumble. The Sages turn into The Rainbow bridge one last time so Link and Zelda can escape. They get across just as it falls into the smoldering lava pit below. The Sages fly back up and away. Then Zelda puts Link's hand in hers, and says "Link, I always knew you were the Hero of Time!!" She then looks down sadly. "I knew I shouldn't have tampered with the Sacred Realm, this is all my fault." then instead of taking the Ocarina from Link, she says "Link, I don't deserve to be the bearer of The Triforce of Wisdom, you must use it..use it to be the Guardian of Hyrule!" Then light streams from their hands, and the entire screen turns white. It then goes into the credits as usual. This time though, Link is there with Zelda, at the gates of Lon Lon Ranch. They are on Zelda's white horse, and Link doesn't seem to be able to decide to go in. Then he hears "After all you've been through, you deserve tocelebrate!!" Link looks around to see no one, then hears "Hoot!! Hoot!!!" He looks up to see Kaepora Gaebora flying away. He then smiles and rides in. Then it has the celebration sequence, but with you controlling Link. You can't use your weapons, but you are able to save and see the Triforce on your Subscreen. You may talk to various people, but when you talk to Zelda (who's standing near the bonfire, she talks about restoring Hyrule. That's when the Sages fly overhead. They all land in Hyrule Market. There's a flash, and it is restored. The Poe Man is in his room, and says "The Great Ganondorf is gone!!! The World is no longer full of hate!!! Bah!!" Then his poes circle around him. They then fly into his body, then he screams and crumbles into nothing. You reappear in Zelda's courtyard, but as an adult. You may now do whatever you want, like talking to people with different responses, and etc. Just bask in your satisfaction.

"A New Generation"
By M. Walters

The game would remain the same until Link strikes down Ganon for the final time. Ganon would return to Ganondorf. Then, as Ganondorf struggles to breath, the three of them would be astounded as the triforce reunites in front of them. Then the three Goddesses would enter Hyrule by the way they last exited. Din raises her arms and, a ball of flame forms above her. She throws the fire down and, it spreads across Hyrule turning the palace landscape and all the buildings to normal. Farore brings back to life all the plants and animals that died in the Cataclysm's Eye by flying over them, similar to the green goddess in Fantasia 2000. Then, finally Nyru flies high and blows away the looming clouds over the castle. The goddesses depart through the triforce. Ganondorf who is lying just south of the triforce sends a blast of energy that sends all three pieces flying northward. Link and Zelda turn, noticing he is just there. The sages decent behind them. They walk to Ganondorf and circle him.

Rauru says,"For your attack on the Hylian race I forever banish you to the dark realm."

The sages raise balls of light with their corresponding colors. The balls raise, with Ganondorf in the middle of them, about twenty feet. Ganondorf's limbs are flailing. He is finally dropped into a vortex screaming.

Rauru turns to Link and says,"You are truly the hero of time."

Link gives Rauru the master sword, Nabooru the light shield, Saria the fairy bow, Darunia the hammer, Ruto the Longshot, and Sheik the winged boots. They fly off and return the objects to their corresponding temples. Link notices that Navi is gone. We see Navi at the Deku sprout.

The sprout says,"My father was right. Link art courageous."

The screen fades white.

When we come back we see all the Hylian citizens gathered in the field in front of the Palace. We then see Zelda and Link walking out to the balcony side by side with a few feet in between them. Between and a couple steps infront of them is the King of Hyrule. The people cheer.

The king then says,"My people, you have been freed by the courageous efforts of my lovely daughter and my new chief advisor, Link."

Link is taken aback.

The king turns to Link and says,"Will you take the responsibility."

"Yes, your highness." says Link as he kisses the king's triforce shaped ring.

A Gerudu steps up and bows to the king. She offers the Gerudu race as slaves to the king. He turns her down and reminds her to do all things in the name of righteousness. The screen again goes white.

We then cut to a wedding in the temple that takes place six months later. Hylians look on as Link marries Malon (Zelda and Link's bloodlines must remain separate to accommodate later games.) They are marryed by the king who reads from the book of Mudora. The wedding concludes and the screen again goes white.

We cut to Link and Malon standing behind Zelda as she weeps over her father's death bed.

His last words to her are,"Do all things in the name of righteousness."

People mourn throughout the land as the king is pronounced dead. The screen again goes white.

We cut to three years later, four years after the final battle. We see an old midwife hand Link a baby and congratulate him on his newborn son. The boy has one brown eye and one blue eye. Link goes in to see Malon who is sitting on a bed. The screen goes white.

We cut to three years after that, seven years after the final battle. We see Link teaching his three year old son the scarecrows song. He then puts Link Jr. to bed. After he leaves his boy's bedroom he is confronted by Rauru.

"Link," Rauru says,"Evil hands are near the resting places of the triforces. You must leave now to prevent another cataclysms eye."

Navi appears from behind Rauru to reunite with Link. Link says a farewell to his sleeping son, collects his sword and shield, kisses Malon goodbye, and rides Epona northward. The screen goes white.

We cut back to seven years later. Link Jr. now ten is sitting on Death Mountain staring northward. The owl lands behind him and the camera pans out to the majestic tune of an orchestra. The words "THE END" appear.

To explain that ending the sequel would begin with Link leaving in the same sequence as before. The first third of the game would be Link on the quest for the triforce. He would be captured by sinister looking soldiers. The second half takes place seven years later. We see Link Jr. confronted by the owl as before. But this time we hear what the owl says. He explains that Link Sr. has been captured and his son must go after him. Link Jr. excepts the task without delay. The owl tells him to go to the forest. He mounts the colt of Epona and rides to the forest where he gets his sword, shield and fairy. As he begins with his horse down the path his father took 7 years earlier Malon stops him, gives him an ocarina and a farewell hug, and teaches him the song to retrieve his horse if he loses him. After a few bosses Link Jr. finds his Father. Link now has a long blond beard. They recover Epona and Link's supplies. After that they go to a near village and an old lady takes them in. Link shaves(I wouldn't let him spend the game like that). The last third of the game is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Link finishes the quest with his son following behind on his horse.

Those are my ideas. My vision of the second game might be too vast for 64, and probably would only work for dolphin. These both fit the Zelda odyssey very well.

Back to the Odyssey of Hyrule
