GAME ERRORS AND BUGS Leave it to Video Gamer X to find errors in a final production copy of a game. Believe it or not, there are glitches in the game that are kind of a weird. I don't know how this happens, but I guess they were missed when the game was play tested. Oh well, I guess. Getting Stuck - In Kakariko Village there is a room with fat woman in it who says something to the effect that dinner isn't ready yet. Just for kicks I managed to squeeze myself between the corner and the fat woman. The problem was, I couldn't get out. I pressed every button possible. It just kept saying, the woman's stupid message about dinner. I ended up having to reset the game. Grammar Anyone - Hey now I'm not saying that I'm perfect when it comes to grammar and spelling but remember this is a four year developed post-production copy of a game. Spelling and grammar errors should have been edited. On the sign in front of the graveyard there is some message about the Shiekahs having "fealty" to the royal family. "Fealty?" I spent a minute looking at this and couldn't figure out what they were trying to get at with that word. I assume they ment to put in the word "loyalty." But then again I could be wrong. Don't know entirely for sure. Game Box Oops - This spelling error is legitimate, on the back of the box (Mine was gold edition so it may change on regular edition) there is a sentance that includes the word "enivironments." This word is misspelled. It should be "environments." Not So Solid Walls - Have you noticed that if you get real close to a wall and use an item or something most of Link's body goes into the wall. You can really see this at the fishing pond when you try to cast the line directly into the wall while standing up against it. You can even see right through the cliff-face in Gerudo if you stand right up against the face near the chest with the Heart Container in it. Strange Chests - Have you ever noticed that when Link stands on an open big chest, he will be hovering over the inside of the chest without a platform being there. Weird... The Sky is a Cube - During the daytime look at the sky. If you look close you will see the outline of a big cube with clouds texture-mapped on it. Wouldn't that fascinate Link? Ghoma The Invisible - A Gamer From West Germany revealed: Hello, Mr. Video Gamer X, I have to thank for your very helpful Zelda site. As i have seen, you have a page with some bug reports and i think i have to add another one to this list. It happend in my first fight with ghoma at the very beginning of the game, inside the deku tree. The fight was already going one for some rounds, as ghoma suddenly disappeared completely after beeing hit once more and returning to the ceiling. He did not reappear and i could walk around and look at that cave from all positions, waiting and serching for him. This kept going on as long as i tryed to shoot with my sling under the ceiling hoping to get ghoma out of his hide. At that moment, the game crased completely so i could only press the reset button. I tryed to defeat him again afterwards and everything worked well. I have no idea what i could have done to cause this crash. Since that strange crash my copy of the game runs absolute stable, so i think it's a real bug and not a problem with my copy. Gamer Kelly Asked: This is probably a really stupid question but I seriously am begging for your expert advice. I am not sure if I killed Ghoma or what. All of a sudden, I shot a deku nut at him and he was gone and I am wandering around in ghomas chambers and he is not there. Please help me if you can. I don't understand what has happened. Sincerely Kelly It looks like these two gamers were victims of a major game bug. I heard about this one but didn't believe it. I guess this missed the playtesters. WEIRD ZELDA SCREW UP - I don't know how this one happened, but when I turned on the N64 the Nintendo logo appeared then the screen was all static (like a blank video tape playing in a VCR). A low drumming heartbeat sound and real eerie music played in the background. I know no one out there is going to believe this one, but it happened, trust me. I had to reset the N64. I tried it at least 50 times after that and it never happened again. Video Gamer X was really confused by this one. I should probably put it on the "Z" files because it was like my cart was haunted or possesed. This has to be the strangest game goof I've ever seen. Anyone else have this happen? Please let me know...before I exorcise my cart. |
