WOW! A new trailer released yesterday showing off the new Zelda coming to the GameCube, and if you thought the last one was impressive wait to you get a load of this! I was absolutely mesmerized by this one. What's great about it is that you get to see a lot of the gameplay features that were only hinted on in the previous trailer, like Link swimming (in clear water surrounded by swimming and reactive fish I might add!), and riding not only Epona but one of those wild boar looking creatures that look like "wargs" from Lord of the Rings. Link has a who host of sword play moves. There are a lot of scenes of him in swordplay combat. You also get to see more enemies like in the sewers you can see the newest form of Redeads, which I'm glad are making a comeback, Staffos that assemble together, Lizalfos, an enemy that can throw boomerangs at Link, those Moblins riding wild boars, Ghoma chasing Link through a labyrinthic caveway, and a boxing Goron. I'm not sure if the music in the background is actually from the game, but that caliber of orchestration would be most welcome in the next Zelda game by myself and a ton of fans of the series. Most importantly, they need to ressurrect some of the old themes from the old games and remix them and orchestrate them.
This new trailer leaves behind as many questions as it answers about the previous one. For one thing, what's the deal with the wolf howling at the end? Is Hyrule infested with werewolves? So far there hasn't been any storyline shots, just mostly gameplay, which is fine, I have no prob with it being spoiler free, but it would be cool to debut some of the supporting characters, and one decent picture of Princess Zelda for crying out loud! Of course this thing lends fuel to the fire of anticipation for this game, because truly it will be something remarkable. And just from what I've seen so far it looks to the ultimate true sequel to Ocarina of Time, a game with all the great gameplay elements of Zelda 64, and then some, with incredible graphics. Will there be sidequests? I can speculatively answer yes, considering it's a lot like Ocarina of Time. Will there be Glitches? Who knows, maybe there will be bugs and errors which will be uncovered by clever gamers, giving it even more gameplay value. I can't wait for the game, and I know fans of the Odyssey of Hyrule are just drooling over these videos like I am.
